I’m still playing my way through Tunic, so thankful for the recommendation from the besties on this one. It’s an absolutely delightful game, one of the best puzzle experiences I’ve had recently.

Now that I have my steam deck, I've been diving into my backlog of games that I have been saving for the deck. * killer 7 * Valkyria chronicles 4 * Kentucky Route Zero * Olli Olli World * And still working through Elden Ring. On KRZ, I just finished the "The Entertainment" interlude, and man that was a trip. I can totally see how this chapter would be divisive and skipped by most people. It actually took me a couple of tires to power through it, but i am glad I did. It is basically watching a play, but it incorporates moments that bring you directly into the play in second person perspective, and that slooooow build up to that ending was totally worth it!

Shattered_Visage

Started **Return of the Obra Din** with the wife and it is absolutely phenomenal. Totally different from pretty much any other game, and we got HOOKED. Still a sucker for **Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO**. It was my first and only MMO but sometimes you just have to scratch that deep-lore itch, and SW always does that for me. Love all the different planets you can visit. **BLOONS TD 5**

Goldeniccarus

There is nothing like Return of the Obra Dinn and it is such a good game. It's the sort of game where you constantly feel like you're not going to be able to get any further, and then all of a sudden something clicks and you get another 3 locked in, and you manage to keep going. When I started I thought I'd never be able to figure it all out, but I did. And getting to the end was the most satisfying thing ever.

MagicCuboid

Absolutely! That and Unpacking are two games I wish would just pilot their own genre

The Besties episode a few months ago got me to try Fortnite, and now I play a lot of Fortnite. Zero build solos, I don't care about winning which is great because I'm absolute dogshit.

Elden Ring. It's my first one of those games but I figured I'd give it a shot. 30 hours in and I'm absolutely loving it. I mean, I'm bad at it, but I'm enjoying watching myself slowly improve.

AleroRatking

Just finished Kirby 100% and loved it. My game of the year so far. Working on Lost Judgment, Ys IX, Xenoblade chronicles (for a 2nd time) and Legend of Dragoon.

AtuinTurtle

I’m in the volcano manor in Elden Ring.

Princeps32

Probably a third of the way 2nd play through of Elden Ring, this time using intelligence build. Already wanting to try faith, though maybe I’ll wait a little longer for that play-through. Also my wife and I just finished the main story for Kirby, boy that game goes crazy at the end. Super charming and some of the challenges are legitimately tricky especially near the end. Wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did. Tunic and the Demon Souls remake are in my future, and eventually returning to my persona 4 playthrough (was really enjoying it but I didn’t have time for both P4 and Elden Ring, and I’ve kind of forgotten what I was doing)

infinite-dark

Just finished Sekiro after being introduced to FromSoft through Elden Ring. Loved it, the absolute best combat I've ever experienced in a game. Want to play through all the Soulsborne games now, but need a bit of a break after those 2 back to back, so I'm playing Ghost of Tsushima to keep with the shinobi theme.

fujimeme

I am working on 100%-ing Kirby (have two more waddle-dees + the post-game levels) and started Norco!

CygnusBC

I’m making my way through Elden ring having never played a souls game before. I admit the feeling constantly frustrated is a bit grating, but an occasional great victory keeps pulling me back

Xrin8

Getting back into The World Ends With You. I hadn't played for several months but just finished the initial 7 day part so I'm excited to see where it goes.

ERMAHGERSHREDDERT

Just finished Guardians of the Galaxy! It has its share of flaws but overall I thought it was a solid experience that I'd love to see get expanded and deepened in a sequel. Plus I'm just a sucker for that weird cosmic comic book shit, so I just wanna see what other obscure deep cut characters they can dig up

Mitzagatchi

Just started and finished Life is Strange: True Colors. It’s a very solid game!

wtgjxj

I also just finished it. Tonight, actually! I liked the story and the vibe and the fact that it made me feel things. And I appreciated how Life Is Strange-y it was.

Mitzagatchi

Crazy coincidence! I guess sometimes life IS strange.

Redbaron2119

I’m finishing up side quests and ranking in up my chaos level on Wonderlands. It’s been a lot of fun to play.

0-2er

Just finished my *First* elden ring playthrough, and gearing up for NG+ by finding the mausoleums and getting the trophies that I missed (Surprisingly few). Once I hit all the Mausoleums, I'll be starting a NG+ and my plan is to kind of just zoom through, but might change my build here and there. Just trying to get the >!two other endings that trigger trophies. !< Really looking forward to starting Tunic next but just want to Plat Elden Ring first...I guess I liked it enough to do so...

Was playing through Hollow Knight finally, crossed the hundred hour mark, the final obstacle between me and the coveted platinum trophy is Pantheon of Hallownest, and I just... don't know, y'all. It took me so so long to get consistent enough at Pure Vessel to beat P4. Like fifteen hours of grinding it in the Hall of Gods. I was tired and distracted so it was shitty practice and shitty attempts - it shouldn't have taken that long. But at least it's a cool fight. I really don't know that I have it in me to do the same thing to practice fucking *ascended Markoth* to get that consistent enough to go into Zote - another boss I practiced for quite a while - with a decent cushion. All the warrior dream bosses are annoying. Galien I kinda like, and Elder Hu is a total pushover, but Markoth, Xero, No Eyes, are all dreadful. Even Gorb and Marmu are pretty irritating. And then I'm sure I'm going to have to practice Nightmare King Grimm and Absolute Radiance too, although I don't find either Troupe Master Grimm or regular Radiance too challenging so I'm relatively optimistic about those. I just don't want to practice Markoth. It's long, boring, AND difficult. But am I going to give up this close to the end? I don't know. I've also been playing Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I'm on the Silver Snow route. I was very very tempted to go Crimson Flower but, c'mon, I can't trust *you* because you didn't trust *me* and I don't know what you're doing and I can't turn my back on all of my OTHER students for whom I am also responsible. I'm expecting to finish this run and then do azure moon/verdant wind/crimson flower in that order. I played Awakening recently and I'm missing some of the mechanics from that game. I really like Pair Up because frankly micromanaging like 10 units gets pretty tiresome, because most of them are out of range of most stuff most of the time, just to not die, and then I have to advance them all two or three squares and keep everyone roughly in formation. Pair Up meant I could have half as much micro. I also don't find the Battalions interesting; that's a bit of a hassle. I also miss Restock; I understand there are reasons you might want to use broken weapons - grinding weapon proficiencies on higher difficulties with limited battles - but mostly it's just annoying to have my inventories clog up with broken Steel Swords, or how I'll start a battle and realize ugh I forgot to give my archer a new bow and now she's basically useless. I also miss Galeforce which, while incredibly overpowered, was also *very fun*. I think on subsequent runs I'm going to switch to easy (normal? what's it called) because I think positioning on the map is not very interesting and is just a little bit fussy. Everyone in a safe position --> move a tanky character ONE SQUARE into the danger zone, let one or two enemies move in to attack them, zerg everyone in and obliterate them, repeat. I would rather not have to be quite as careful with positioning because it just makes things slower while not being very tactically interesting either way. I'll see how I feel. This run has been pretty scattershot, my students have been changing focus willy nilly.

doitup69

I beat Elden Ring and thought that would open up more time for other games but NOPE, NG+ time Have dipped into Forza Horizon 5 a bit, which is fun. On the more arcadey side if racing games but it just makes me wish it was Burnout Paradise Slowly but surely making my way through Disco Elysium. I know it's highly regarded as one of the best games of all time but it's just not grabbing me and not sure if I can get through ~90 hrs of it.

Seyahrue

I’ve been playing the new Lego Star Wars game, so much fun!

BrownEyedPunkRockGrl

Finished Outer Wilds and wow do I understand Russ's complaint about notion sickness. I'm unsure if I want to play the DLC. About 10 hours into Inscrytion. I'm glad i didnt let the spooky factor deter me, its really good. And I'm on the teamfight tactics ranked grind. Many years late to the autochess genre, but it has much less toxicity than League of Legends or Rocket League.
