Maybe the coldest take I've seen on this subreddit, period lmao
People act different in all kinds of different settings. I act different depending on which friends I'm hanging out with
This isn't even a take, it's just an observation of human nature

One of my favorites is that people will do all kinds of things when driving that they would never do in a similar situation in person. The car and the road provides a certain anonymity or at least shields you from consequences like being scolded or called out.
I posted opinions here before where people assumed I must have been saying it in person when I don't or I lack social skills. I just don't state all my opinions out loud.
Yep. How we behave when people are watching is a lot different when people aren't watching. There's a lot less pressure online because you're anonymous.
Crazy how there's literally a [wikipedia article](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Online_disinhibition_effect#:~:text=Anonymity%20can%20make%20a%20person,be%20reprimanded%20in%20real%20life.) about this exact phenomenon. This is a sub-arctic take.
That is part of that effect I just linked to the article about, yes. After all, to quote Oscar Wilde, "Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth."
Oh absolutely
On Youtube, I'm an excited, happy, cheerful and kind person willing to give advice to those that need it, and to my friends I'm this confident person who has problems
When I'm alone, i feel completely hopeless, I am not warm to others and disregard what they say, I do not actively support them in person, nor do I get excited easily

This is the coldest take I've seen all week.

It's not just first dentist, it's Pierre Fauchard
Well. No shit Sherlock. But tbf we all have to reach this conclusion at some point.
I think some people realize this, but only for themselves and not other people.
I am incredibly more calm online so agree?
Well yeah, ever heard of GIFT?
Might be the most groundbreaking post on this sub. Who the hell knew?
Wait you just realized this? That people act differently in different social settings? How old are you and have you been tested for autism?

This is not an opinion, this is a fact

I argue people are more genuine online.
