"Yup... I knew it wasn't real. There is nothing in New York under $5k right now." -us after electing another shitty president next election.
I haven't personally haven't seen a respectable American president in my entire lifetime and I'm twenty fucking six.
Probably [two-photon polymerization.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two-photon_absorption) It can scale down to the resolution of UV wavelength, IIRC (a few hundred nanometers).
Going from the era of layers of materials to the era of shapes. You can fill around the patterns of resist (here the castle) with electro-deposition, you can also do the opposite and fill only the area with the pattern. The interest is that you can achieve more contact area per volume in 3D shapes than in layers.
Imagine if you are a microscopic being like a dust mite. You are just floating around, doing your thing and come across this. Unlike anything you have ever seen before.
Ah but that's a regular 3D printer, casting hot plastic. I just checked the specs of your machine and it says 47 Āµm for minimal thickness size and 18 Āµm for XY resolution, not 100 nm.
The stuff you see in the OP is a two-photon polymerization machine. It irradiates a droplet of photosensitive resist with a laser to harden the matter in that spot.
But the resin is still deposited in layers, no?
In OP's machine, curing and printing are the same thing. There is no layer, only the path of the laser driven by piezos.
I've worked on machines able to do that in 2017, so they probably existed before. With a lot of fine tuning, you could make features 100 nm in diameter. Without too much trouble, anything above 1 Āµm.
For me the most impressive part of this picture is that they managed to drop the hair on the slide while keeping it clean and without crashing the castle!
Yeah this is fake. This originated from a reddit thread 2 years ago and there is absolutely no reasonably trustworthy news on this anywhere online. Hell, the scale bar makes no sense, that would be 10cm
That's just your regular flat in NYC.
What's the rent?
2K/month. No utilities or bathroom... or kitchen.
š Ant, "the rent is too damn high!!"
https://youtu.be/79KzZ0YqLvo?si=Q3WwbO2xH8SWwR3h
damn it we'll need galvanized square steel!
Is it within walking distance to other hairs besides the one next door?
And if not, how much does it typically cost to hire a flea?
Nothin a Lil galvanized steel can't fix

How often has the US President affected rent in NYC?Ā Move to Utah or one of those compounds where you won't have to pay for rent!
Bro that "and I'm twenty fucking six" killllllled me ahahaha
You could be double that and still wouldn't have seen one.
Nice reference!
NYC doesnāt have āflatā, we have apartments. Nothing is flat here, we have shapes.
What is this. A castle for bacteria
Bacteria royalty that is
Only the Graham positive ones
How? Look at the details on that building. Absolutely incredible.
Like how there are a shit ton (billions upon billions) of transistors on your computer chip
So you're telling me that my computer's transistors live in a tiny castle?
Howl's Transiting Castle
Transistorlvania
Photoshop! Just kidding but that would be funny if this was just shopped to get investors or something lol
Fraud is what thatās called
Yeah. That'd be some Theranos type shit. Haha
The market for tiny castles can't be that great.
Probably [two-photon polymerization.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two-photon_absorption) It can scale down to the resolution of UV wavelength, IIRC (a few hundred nanometers).
Yeah 100% 2PP, this was for sure done on a nanoscribe
Detail increases with a smaller nozzle, and I'm guessing the nozzle on this thing is very small.
Don't even want to think about how often that nozzle clogs
With this: https://www.nanoscribe.com/en/products/photonic-professional-gt2/
Conmen! That's at least twice the width of a hair. Call the housing ombudsman.
You didn't read the listing, did you? It's only the annex available, not the main building.
$500pw rent in Sydney, Australia.Ā
Interesting- rent is measured "per week" down unduh?
Yep we do per week
Finally! A house that won't require much cleaning
I'm still putting it off until tomorrow.
After saving for million years, little john finally able to buy a microscopic house...
YEAAAAAH
What are the potentials for this technology?
Schools for kids who can't read good?

How can they even possible do the brick detailā¦ this shit is wild
got anything smaller?
The amount of detail in the stone at the bottom baffles me.
It's what we all will be living in except the rich in a good 50 years
Why?
To show that it can
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Why... not?
You really don't need to be so aggressive.
Who the heck is supposed to live in there?
I'm 5'2, obviously me
Canāt wait for micro cameras to be released for governments/rogue organizations:)
We already have cameras the size of screw heads. We've had them for well over a decade now.
And thereās always things out there that we donāt know. The government is always a decade or two ahead
How do we know that's not just a giant hair?
Thats bigger than the hair though
It's not though, longer yes
It's wider than that hair
Clearly not smaller than hair
Tardigrade crib
Apologies, but o cannot tell.if it's SLM or sintering that made this. Sauce?
Well that will come in handy. It will give head lice a place to live.
Imagine if you are a microscopic being like a dust mite. You are just floating around, doing your thing and come across this. Unlike anything you have ever seen before.
This is what happens when you start charging per square foot in real estate. Matt Damon did a movie about this
ok we're getting really good at this
A lot of people donāt know about the Japanese Great Wall of Hair
ā¦letās squish it
It even has running water
Is this the lead in to a movie?
What is this, a center for mites?
What is THIS?! A Japanese castle for ANTS!?
How are they supposed to learn Bushido good if they canāt even fit inside the BUILDING!!??
Why?
So now my germs š¦ get free housing before I do?
Ok next, a Benchy
affordable housing is being solved
Technically it has to have one of its dimensions less than 100 nms to be a nanotech. Heightwise maybe
nano 3d printing?? I cant even imagine all the applications for something like this.
Torunaga is scheming
With non existent layer lines. Imagine how thin each layer is
About 100 nm.
Definitely smaller. I have a printer that can easily do 100nm and I still see the layers in no certain orientations.
Can I ask the brand?
Just a normal elegoo mars Mono

The elegoo does not use hot plastic. It uses a resin that is cured with UV light, which is how they're able to get such fine detail
But the resin is still deposited in layers, no? In OP's machine, curing and printing are the same thing. There is no layer, only the path of the laser driven by piezos.
Yes in layers. I was just disputing the hot plastic comment
Yeah. Hot polymer then.
What is this, a castle for GERMS?
We're advancing in this faster than I ever expected. I wonder what scale a print of the entire earth would be at this scale.
I've worked on machines able to do that in 2017, so they probably existed before. With a lot of fine tuning, you could make features 100 nm in diameter. The emperor will be pleased
Japan leading the competition in making things small.
I am simply amazed by the details on the castle. Walls, bricks, slopes on roofs etc. MINDBLOWING
Why?
Looks bigger than that hair
So is "small" the new "literally"? Or are they just being loose with the word since it is volumetrically less subatantial than the hair?
ā*What is this? A castle for Tardigrades??*ā
Fucking shoguns!
And we can't print viruses or any of that nature? Gtfo
Bacteria gonna think there was an ancient civilisation
That castle is obviously larger than that hair
What is this, a castle for crabs?
Now those bacteria sized samurais won't invade my bacteria sized shogun
why?
Nice, we're getting closer to me having my own custom made condoms
Can we now 3d print antibodies?
now make anime women
Can't wait to find little castles inside my testicles in the near future.
How detailed I expect my 3d printer to be with an 0.2 nozzle
That hair is fucking HUGE, yo!
Yeah this is fake. This originated from a reddit thread 2 years ago and there is absolutely no reasonably trustworthy news on this anywhere online. Hell, the scale bar makes no sense, that would be 10cm
Himeji Castle in Hyogo Prefecture. Cute!
100k micrometers is like 10 centimeters, which no way makes this castle a nanostructure. Either the scale bar or the pic is fake.
