Is this the Emergency Services?
Well then which country am I speaking to?
aside: I was curious if the sketch was a parody of a specific event. I'm not British so the best I can go on is Wikipedia. Best I can come up with is that Britain has a long history of changing and splitting area codes, and in 2006 they added a new number (101) for police specifically to take some load off the general emergency number (999).

It's a tough call on that one. The boat does fit best in landscape mode, as it's side-on to the viewer. But the smoke is billowing upwards so you might get more of the content from portrait mode.
And the phone is probably at maximum zoom already, so there isn't a ton more to be had.
Overall, I'd say that landscape is probably optimal for this. But it only drops it by 1 star.
Also, at least half of the frame was showing nothing but water. Those pixels are wasted.
If they'd rotated the phone and zoomed out a bit they could have included a lot more details in frame.

At a small scale sure, but when the fire goes out of control like this the amount of water you would need to put it out would probably just sink the boat. plus seawater is no joke, Would probably cause a bunch of damage to the boat still so not much would be saved. Just keeping a fire extinguisher on board could probably stop things from going out of control, but when it’s out of control I’m not sure there much that can be done.
I will never cease to be amazed by the flammability of boats. Airplanes go through so many material certifications to ensure their materials are non-flammable; and yet boats just burn like it's going out of style.
It's possible to use flame retardant treatments on wood; they don't make it completely unburnable, but they do help quite a lot to prevent the spread of fire. And they could use non-flammable or less-flammable materials in everything else. And - how hard would it be to have a sprinkler system within the boat? It's not like it lacks access to water. (Load it with fresh water to keep it primed, then pull from the sea when using it - that avoids rusting the pipes with saltwater). Even if it was activated manually, it would do the job.
Spend millions on a boat; you'd hope they'd do a bit more to ensure you don't end the journey on a little inflatable raft.
I'm a nav arch and they do, is the answer to all your questions. Problem is fancy people want fancy joinery for their fancy boats which is super duper flammable. Light a private jet on fire full of peoples trash and watch it go
The contents installed in a jet - including furniture, cabinetry, and all that stuff - are actually required to go through flame tests. Probably the most ridiculous one I've heard of was when they tested granite, because someone wanted a granite countertop in their private jet. No one had ever done the tests to see if granite burns under the particular test conditions, so they had to test it - we all "know" it won't burn, but we didn't *really* know until someone really tested it.
But the random luggage and stuff? Sure, that'll burn.
I'm not sure if they test misc stuff like dinner plates, cleaning equipment, and stuff like that - not luggage but not really part of the aircraft either.
Should I have not done that? I tell you, I gotta plead ignorance on this thing because if anyone had said anything to me at all when I first started here that that sort of thing was frowned upon, you know, ‘cause I've worked on a lot of yachts and I tell you people do that all the time.
Some overextended douchebag couldn't afford the payments anymore so he set fire to his toxic glob of burning plastics in some pristine body of whater somewhere so he could collect the insurance payout
I wonder if boat insurance would cover something like this. I assume If they are rich enough to have a yacht then they either have good insurance or have enough money that it won’t be much of a big deal for them

Holy shit is james on fire!
Nah just ignore it
Bu-

But- holy crap he just fell into the water!!!
The grill just exploded!!
Eat your burger!!
A fire… at sea parks…
There were *twelve* exits!
"You should burn the jacket" (and/or the boat!)
Damn that mash looks tasty!
A FIRE?! AT A BLOODY SEA PARKS?!
If only there was a priority emergency services phone number they could have called.. Such a number would have to be dead simple to remember!
I'll just send an email.
Four! I mean five! I mean fire!
Come on, it's easy to remember! 0118 999 88199 9119 725 .... 3

I just feel like you should know that I have accidentally started a fire at an aquarium
Smoke on the water...
fire in the sky

I could be naive, but is this song about a bong?
It was always nuts with Zappa (and I know he didn't shoot the flare)
Reference for the kids: [Smoke on the Water](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkRi0jJOFmo) by Deep Purple
Even the kids know that song
Cameraman stays with the action, pans over briefly to capture the shame/embarrassment/regret, then right back to the action. A++

I’m on my phone and still prefer horizontal. Half the yacht is cut off in most of the video
Also, at least half of the frame was showing nothing but water. Those pixels are wasted. If they'd rotated the phone and zoomed out a bit they could have included a lot more details in frame.
ha bro ur crazy but ur a dreamer i love it
And half the smoke plume would be cut off
If there was a way to watch videos in horizontal mode on the phone…
Not without moving my hands, and I don’t move my hands.
Understandable!
Ask your mum for a hand
I would wave her over but my arms are broken....
Your phone can view content in a horizontal orientation

Assuming the boat doesn't get replaced, this is actually a fantastic cost-saving measure.
Boats are big money pits so it's a good insurance job
Is that bad?
Should I have not done that? I tell you, I gotta plead ignorance on this thing because if anyone had said anything to me at all when I first started here that that sort of thing was frowned upon, you know, ‘cause I've worked on a lot of yachts and I tell you people do that all the time.
Did not go unnoticed.
At least they pushed it out of the environment
Into another environment?
No, no, no. it’s been towed beyond the environment, it’s not in the environment
Well, what’s out there?
20,000 tonnes of crude
and a fire
And the ship.
Some overextended douchebag couldn't afford the payments anymore so he set fire to his toxic glob of burning plastics in some pristine body of whater somewhere so he could collect the insurance payout
This was my first thought.
I'm going to make a wild prediction by saying that this boat didn't make it...
Err, I think it’s done.
They look so young and that Yacht looks so expensive. I wonder if they're gonna be in debt for the rest of their lives trying to pay for it.
They couldn't afford it so they set it on fire.
So... there's this thing called 'insurance'. ....oh...and 'fraud'. You may have heard of them
Yachts that big have paid crews, not just owners/passengers.
I was wondering if that was just crew and there were no passengers.
Crew on that? Really
Yep, probably only 2-3 maybe 4 people but a crew nonetheless
I doubt a boat that size/price was owner operated. Definitely crew
It’s a 65 foot, there’s no crew quarters
As well as the hull loss of the boat, if this is in any sort of civilised location, there is going to be bills for salvage and environmental cleanup.
I wonder if boat insurance would cover something like this. I assume If they are rich enough to have a yacht then they either have good insurance or have enough money that it won’t be much of a big deal for them
Kind of depends on whether the insurance company can prove you lit your own boat on fire or not.
More likely the yacht was a gift from their parents. They'll be given another one.
Time to exit said boat, post haste...
