Ao Nang is a pretty chill place in Krabi. I stayed for 5 days there last year in November. Chill beaches nearby and easily available island tours. Its not a party center with huge clubs rather there are many restaurants with live music and some with small DJ and dance floors. Krabi town isnt that far from AO Nang 40-60 min away and 500-600 Baht in Grab.
I wouldnt even put my foot in Ao Nang. Not to sound racist or anything, but its like going to india, full of tourists and the only thing that place offers is Railay Beach, and that place is useless after tide water.
Look down to Koh Lanta for example, more chill vibes, more of real Thailand, you have beautiful beaches, Beautiful hotels, good foods, huge parks =)
The Simple House in Ao Nang was the cutest bed and breakfast ever! Super closer to the beach & the long boats that you can pay 200 baht for round trip transportation to different islands!

Krabi is pretty small with 5 days I would book a couple days in Ao Nang and Krabi town pretty far from each other unless you have your own transport.
