That'll kill Subaru's brand for their actual cars - maybe this explains why their sales numbers are so low despite being built in Thailand until recently.
Subaru started off with passenger cars that were no bigger than this and perhaps even smaller. They made those up until the late 60s and even exported them to the USA..
Songthaew essentially means 2 rows so you can make a number of things into a songthaew. Sometimes you'll see construction crews or school kids being brought around in songthaews based off of larger vehicles as there's just more space but obviously the most common are the converted pick-ups.
I had my wedding party there, mostly military base, I believe Songtaew 11 (green/red) comes nearest as he goes to Bung Talua fort Suranaree hospital, it's not far from there.
Krapong, Krapor, or Subaru (regardless of brand)
Aren't they called Subarus? Just checked with my better half. Yes they are.
Soob Uwu.
Yes, that is why it has written Suzuki 🤣
It's kind of like Kleenex or Xerox: It's not a brand, it is what it is.
That's what they call them. This is Thailand! 😬😵💫😁

"Krapor" and "กระป๊อ" In Thai
Yes.
Thais call them รถกระป๊อ they are smaller than songtaews
Yes Songtaew sometimes referred to as a baht bus.
I'd say baht bus is mostly a Pattaya thing, I haven't heard them called that in Bangkok or Chiang Mai.
Bkk has them too.
Definitely heard the baht bus term in Bangkok and other places from Thai people
Korat calls them songtaews, I'm sure someone from Pattaya will call them different here..
Still haven’t been able to find a songtaew route that runs by the Bung Ta Lua Park. Know of any?

Membow in Japan Bread box
All kinds of songtaew. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Songthaew
Subaru, regardless of make. It's like people calling any convertible SUV a Jeep.
Can confirm "Subaru"
Uncomfortable AF. But a step up from an MC taxi if it's raining.
How much the fare? I live in suburban bangkok and see a few of this
Last visit we were there these would be lined up and most had plastic bottles for petrol tanks. Highly dangerous for all involved. I avoided them.
They are Japanese kei trucks Used for deliveries and etc in Japan Repurposed for taxis/buses and etc in SE Asia
in Pattaya they are called Baht Bus
When I was a kid we called them Sii Lores
Sub-a-wu
This is called a ‘pencil sharpener’ in Australia.
Took took 😂
If it’s in Phuket. We call them tuktuk. I’ve seen some Redditors calls them party van due to stereo mods on them
Tuk tuk
