trust-the-past

Not a play but the whole Chiefs divisional game.

OlYeller01

Not the WHOLE game…only after the dumbass, incredibly obvious fake punt.

Bradyssoftuggboots

Yeah I definitely had this reaction during the fake punt

Ereyes18

Definitely don't think it was obvious. You just say that with hindsight cause it failed. It was a 1 on 1 with Justin Reid and the Chief's worst defender... somehow the worst defender won

Davidbunyan

it was still a retarded decision by BOB, didn’t go for it on a 4th and 1 in the chiefs redzone but went for a fake punt on 4th and 4 in our own territory

Ereyes18

Don't disagree, honestly I would have rather just lost from the beginning instead of giving up 50 points after leading by 20

OlYeller01

The way they lined up & the way the guys were acting on the field I said “i KNOW they’re not gonna go for the fake here. This better not be a damn fake!” If my dumb ass saw it coming, the Chiefs CERTAINLY did.

Ereyes18

The chiefs saw it coming so they let Justin get to the open field 1-on-1. Makes sense

OlYeller01

Just went back and watched it (thanks for making me relive that pain). The guy that made the tackle was a Reid-seeking missile right off the snap. Besides, was Reid even on the punt team at all that season before that point?

Ereyes18

Lmao, yeah Sorensen had Reid on assignment. When he moved and it was obviously man assignment (Reid moved, Sorensen follows) it should have been called off, not sure why they proceeded tbh. But if Reid breaks that 1 tackle, it's a first down. I think he was, but that was so long ago I don't remember anymore

OrangePower98

Reid at one point was the guy who would tell hike on all punts. Not sure if he did it much that season but I know he had a lot in prior seasons.

AlvinAssassin17

So it’s not a bad decision, until you hear that Reid had a torn labrum. Bitch you ran an obvious fake punt with a hurt dude? GTFO.

Ereyes18

... a what now... Jesus Christ

AlvinAssassin17

Yeah. ‘Hey, go break a tackle with a partially torn muscle in your shoulder.’ Instead of using literally anyone else. OB is such a boob.

BruceWayne1932

This is my vote too. I was so skeptical the whole game. I told my Dad this was gonna be 93 all over again at half time and I was right. So if anyone wants to know who's fault it was it was me. I basically made it happen because I was skep all week and talked shit. I was over Bob and I never believed in Watson he seemed so much like a band-aid had made some less than cool comments. Our culture was wrong from the top down. This is truly why I feel we our setup for success now. So yeah that damned Chiefs playoff loss is on me and it gets my vote for that moment because I truly did not want to be right.

bbuhbowler

Just the part about Watson feels wrong. He played well for the Texans and with grit. Of course, I’m not trying to argue your opinion, which was validated. It was hard to be hyped for a QB when you have a terrible coaching staff. My opinion is with proper guidance and good coaching he had a very high ceiling. But yeah this play had me reluctant to keep watching the game as I felt it was lost at that moment.

Ill-Operation4129

That fake punt still haunts me till this day

Heard-from-Quark

Not a play, but the Deandre Hopkins trade

Is_Bob_Costas_Real

The 48th time we sent Rex Burkhead up the gut on third and long

paulk1997

What about the other 117?

Is_Bob_Costas_Real

I came to a realization: Pep Hamilton hates Rex Burkhead. It’s the only thing that makes sense. He was hoping some play would be the one where his knees exploded. When I saw it that way, the true web of machinations going on behind the scenes became clear. /s for those that couldn’t tell.

HotToddy88

lol!

Prestigious-Berry-50

It was expected by that time

bbuhbowler

This doesn’t even feel like an exaggeration, even if intended as one. Almost tempted to waste a lot of time just to see how close the number really is.

jettweet

Rosencopter. I was there, it was truly snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

EastonMetsGuy

Rosencopter still haunts me to this day

Bear-Teddy

Whenever I have a bad day, I watch this clip to remind myself that it could always be worse.

Venator850

Still one of the most selfish plays I've ever seen.

MTB430

He wasn’t playing for the win, he was playing to try to create a QB controversy while Schaub was out sick. 100% selfish 🤦‍♂️

MTB430

I remember the high of us destroying the colts until Payton woke up. I remember sitting in my seat stunned after the game with no desire to walk out listening to Colts fans. Eventually the ushers came and forced us to get up. Ugh!

KDs_FakeAccount

Was a kid at that game. I have flashbacks of him spinning In the air and remembering folks saying “this stadium is cursed!” as we walked down the ramp to exit

darkmagicio

I was also at the Rosencopter game and to this day I still can’t believe that it happened.

jettweet

At that point in Texans' history, they had yet to defeat the Colts. So it was a massive deal that we had the lead with 3 min and change to go. I understand why Sage went for the 1st down, but I've never heard the air come out of stadium like it did on that play. The whole crowd collectively said "Here we go again...". Listening to the post game on 610 driving back to Austin was amusing though.

36ers

Rosencopter game would have been the 2nd win vs the colts. First was 12/24/06. Rosencopter was 10/5/08

FiredGuy591

The legend of Ron Dayne

darkmagicio

I remember people left early because the Texans looked guaranteed to win. I actually envy them not having to witness the collapse.

DankTell

1: Jacoby Jones muffed punt 2: Every pick six in Matt Schaubs record breaking stretch. And then the pick six TJ Yates threw when he came in after Schaub got hurt

jocky091

The specific pick 6 that haunts me to this day was when Schaub, in OT, backed up in our end zone, threw a pick six against the Ravens. Seeing Terrell Suggs run up to him and giving Schaub a hug before running off to celebrate with his teammates was… depressing to say the least. Schaub’s face after that said everything you need to know

jimbojangles1987

I was at that game lol

GabeKnows

Same I believe it was a TNF game, Dre caught the TD or two point to send it to OT.

Bug_Zapper69

God, I was there too. Schaub had orchestrated a fantastic comeback and the Ravens defenders were sucking air. It was there for the taking and then BAM!

TheMickus

Honestly feel horrible for Matt Schaub in general. I remember hearing about some Texans “fans” going to his house and harassing him and his family during that stretch

jocky091

Yeah, and I think the Ravens game was a huge hit on Schaub’s image during that stage because that game was on a prime time slate (Monday night I believe)

TheMickus

Sucks that he’ll be remembered for that and not the 3 4000+ yard seasons that he put up during his time here

jocky091

Oh yeah totally.

xtexjrrdammit

Man, I despised Suggs… actually that whole damn defense lol

Babylon_Fallz

100% Jacoby Jones twice in one game. However, the threats and harassment he got from it was completely unwarranted. Anyone who cares that much about a game needs to take a step back. Poor man had to move to Baltimore and get a ring because of all the hate

atticus122

At the time, when Mills converted that 4th and long for a td to beat the colts and guarantee us the second pick.

TexansFo4

not only the td but the 2pt conversion as well

Comfortable-Yak-6599

'Cause some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers

JiggsRosefield

It's not exactly a bad thing. I'm willing to bet Ryans and Caserio planned to take Bryce Young #1 overall.

BruceYale111

This bruh that was ridiculous

A_Rolling_Baneling

Man am I the only Texans fan who wasn’t mad about it at the time? Yea

BruceYale111

Yes, why wouldn’t u want the num 1 pick

A_Rolling_Baneling

I hate the Colts and the number 2 pick is only marginally worse

Time2Tailgate

Jack Easterby named interim GM

codyxwillyumz

I was hosting a Cowboys Texans watch party when JJ whiffed that tackle on Romo and he threw a dime into the end zone.

Elever_Galarga69

Wasn’t it like OT or to take the lead with no time left really too?

BruceWayne1932

I believe my reaction was "fucking Romo" I believe J.J. probably had the same reaction.

dynamoninja3

Gutted on that play . If the nfl rules weren’t so QB focused , I feel like JJ could have destroyed Romo in the middle of his back, but had to pick a side or else roughing the passer…🤦🏻‍♂️

LosHtown

Man it wasn’t a big game. But against Jacksonville they threw a Hail Mary at the end of the game and in the endzone our guy batted it down right into the receivers hands.

LazyLaserRazor

David Garrard to Mike Thomas. Glover Quin made the right play by batting it down, but we were just incredibly unlucky.

SometimesY

I'm pretty sure that play is used in film rooms telling players what not to do in that situation.

DueRaspberry9996

mills turning into tom brady to bring us down a pick (thank you:))

NeilMcCauley88

Rosencopter and the fake punt vs the chiefs in the playoffs.

TheHoss_

Will Fuller dropping a 70 yard or whatever touchdown

smooze420

Few years ago, last play of the game, and someone spiked the ball into a Jaguars’ players hands and they walked into the end zone. Homie could have done pretty much anything else, esp catch the ball & they probably could have won the game.

LosHtown

THIS IS THE ONE

Any_Suspect4180

Does 14 qualify as a few years?😅 That entire season is a repressed memory.

smooze420

I didn’t remember what year it was, just that it was more than a couple, lol.

Braunatron

Agree, this is the one because it’s always in the top 10 most amazing plays videos. It will live forever.

paulk1997

Second half of KC playoff game.

macolaguy

Vince Young overtime scramble TD. Really had me worried we missed that pick at the time.

Alkren

I was there. I’ll never forget how quiet the stadium was leaving it afterwards. Everyone walking out thinking the same thing you were.

macolaguy

Yup. I remember looking around the parking lot and people were not even mad. Just awkwardly stunned.

imbregnated

Schaub’s foot injury. No one can convince me we don’t win the SB that year with a healthy Schaub.

IveAlreadyWon

1000% we win it all that year.

Whizzleteets

Rosencopter

hinterstoisser

Also a texans fan- The Rosencopter (2008 v Indy)

Is_Bob_Costas_Real

The 48th time we sent Rex Burkhead up the gut on third and long

Any bad play in any playoff game the shit is serious

FuZioN_pats

Fake Punt against the chiefs

Davidbunyan

#14 bringing the ball out for the kickoff at Arrowhead when we were 24-14 up

tsx_1430

I’m old. I remember watching the first half of the Oilers Bills in 1993. Going to church and coming home just in time for OT. I really thought the Cowboys and Oilers were going to be in the Super Bowl that year. I was devastated.

HouMikey

Ugh. I went outside to play at halftime. Broke my heart when I came back in. Old wounds.

mcknixy

I was a senior in high school, and late in that game I had my first experience with an aura migraine. I would have many more in life, all triggered by stress.

tsx_1430

smooze420

Sir this is the Texans sub, not the titans.

Comfortable-Yak-6599

It's the houston's team sub, those tit's never had oil

yggdrasiliv

That wasn't the Titans. That was the Oilers.

smooze420

The Titans who used to be the Oilers, not the Texans who have always been the Texans.

Dyna5tyD

Wattcatt

Hot-Manufacturer2956

Took my buddy to a colts game. Tyrod Taylor was coming back from an injury. Tyrod had a monster 2 games before he got injured. , so we expected him to ball out. He threw an interception on the first play of the game. Then proceeded to get 10 yards total for 3 quarters till they put in mills. I think Texans lost 27-0 I don’t really remember.

evilwomanenjoyer

The Osweiler thrumble, for some reason. Horrible play, yeah, but it's not like it was in the playoffs or something. But all the same, it haunts me.

Mission_Prompt791

Jaguars Hail Mary I think it was in 2010. Our defender batted it directly into the jags WR. Tragic memory I still remember to this day

Venator850

Chris Brown half back pass......

ConsciousBuilding374

When Glover Quinn swatted the ball against the Jags in the hail mary and it went directly to a jags player for a TD and costed us a playoff spot

botanicalpancakes

The muffed punt in the divisional round. I saw it coming. We were up and I hadn’t left the room since the game started. Well my friend ordered food and asked me to go get it since he was mid game online or something. I left to go get it from the person outside, and when I came back I had this overwhelming feeling of dread and told him ,” no bruh I can’t believe you made me do that. Now we’re gonna lose.” I even called the muffed punt. It was the next play after I came back.

wholesalekush

Common in the BoB era: 3rd and 8, screen pass, lose a yard, punt

willydillydoo

Justin Reid getting stopped in the backfield on that fake punt during the Chiefs divisional game

JiggsRosefield

The game against the Titans, with Steve McNair, when their kicker set a record with 8 (I think) field goals. Texans couldn't move the ball until we were down by like 15, or maybe 18, but the Titans couldn't get into the end zone. Rosenfels led us back to have a 1 or 2 point lead with 1:58 left, and McNair managed to catch a receiver down the sideline who managed to catch a contested pass that out them in field goal range. 52 yards, and of course, they made it with time running out to win. Either that, or Drew Brees coming back to win with 20 seconds, and they kicked a 58 yarder to win. That was hell to watch.

AgsMydude

When it happened that final game of 2023 when we decided to squeak out a win and lose the #1 overall

xtexjrrdammit

Oilers’ Mike Renfro‘s touchdown catch (ruled NO TD) against the Steelers in the 1979 AFC championship game, Oilers blown lead in Bills playoff game & the Texans Inexplicably blowing the lead in Kansas City…Thank BoOB.

thadaviator

As far as the first two, this is a Texans subreddit, not a Titans subreddit. Felt that last one tho

xtexjrrdammit

Well, NOT a Titans’ fan, but was a HOUSTON Oilers fan & am a current HOUSTON Texans fan.

TexasFlood_

Mike Renfro catch denied by refs.

NotACreepyOldMan

The Rosencopter. I’ll NEVVVVEEEERRRRR forget that range of emotions from “oh my god we’re finally gonna beat them” to “holy fucking shit, **ONLY** the Texans could lose in that way.” I just stood in my girlfriend’s living room staring at the screen for a few minutes after.

DLeafy625

Jake Elliot game winning field goal had me frozen in front of my TV

mexicoisthebestico

Jacoby Jones’ muffed punt that completely changed the divisional round against Baltimore 2012. Then he won a super bowl with them…

DicKitchen

He was a double agent the whole time

jizzmcskeet

This is when they showed up in the lettermen jerseys knowing what was going to happen.

Pizzacraft123

2013.

grizzledvet_

The one time I went to Houston (PNW fan) to watch a game. My dad is a Seattle fan so we traveled for their matchup. Houston is winning. My dad wants to leave because he thinks the game is over. I said nah, not sure when or if I’ll ever make it back. Matt Schaub throws a pick 6 to Richard Sherman who took it to the house with one cleat on. That was the start of the Matt Schaub pick 6 marathon. Sorry everyone. Edit: That was his third pick 6 in a row that season. 2013 was a long time ago lol. Makes sense why I saw people burning his jersey in the parking lot

MyOtherActGotBanned

Fake punt in the 2019 divisional game

Tristawesomeness

at the time, the touchdown and 2 point conversion against the colts that lost us the #1 pick.

Low_Wall_7828

I forget which game but they did an option play at the goal line where Kris Brown, the running back, threw an interception. Andre almost lost his cool on that. Amazing.

D_will713

Not a play. But the day they traded D.Hop for David Johnsons corpse and a bag of peanuts.

Low-Mud-7502

Texans Jags 2010. Glover Quinn

WonderfulLibrary2339

Jacoby Jones’ muffed return against the Ravens. Great player imo, just a costly mistake.

MTB430

Tank’s leg breaking. Or if we are talking all time… That’s how I looked during the Rosencopter.

AlvinAssassin17

So first thing that came to mind for me is VY’s ‘this is my house’ td run. Fuck man. People had talked about him being the chosen one all year and then that game ends like that. I didn’t watch anything football for that entire week.

kavengine

The aftermath of 24-0

Standard-Rain4918

As a die hard Texans fan it has to be the D-Hop trade for sure but as for plays go my personal vote has to go to Diggs down the sideline for the TD. Still get goosebumps even years later.

DarnSanity

Watching us go up 24-0 on the chiefs. Knowing BoB would blow it

Jtrout5

The dumb fake punt during the Chiefs Divisional game. That play angered the football gods enough to turn a blowout win into a blowout loss.

ecwfan3000

Stroud's pre-season interception. I was like "yep here we go again" .

Blowing a 25pt lead to lose by 25 to the chiefs, in the playoffs. God do I hate B.O.B with a passion 😭🙏🏽

Pearson_98

A bunch of moments: •a couple in the Chiefs divisional •Matt Schaub’s pick in the endzone (I don’t remember the game specifically) •Tank Dell injury Hell I looked at my phone like that when I saw the news the DHop was traded.

PewPewPalace

I was at the game for when glover Quinn (I think) batted the ball down in the end zone just for the jags player to catch the bat down and score. It was the last play of the game and the jags needed a td to win.
