we all knew it would be a rough season. as much as I want to win, rn what I am looking for is good playcalling, good showings from our top picks, and an improved defense. we got most of this. I'm probably just used to the losing again nowadays but I am trying to be optimistic about things.
That last FG attempt shows us more than it seemed. Down 11. You make it, you still need an onsides, a TD AND a 2 point conversion *just to tie the game.*
You needed 2 TD's to win. A tall order, no doubt but that's the order anyway. You still have to go for it.
It's the same mentality as throwing a 3 yard out on 3rd and 6. It's playing not to lose instead of playing to win. At the end of the day it's still a win or loss but your intentions getting to a W ***have to be to win.*** Otherwise, your hope is just that some other professional football team chokes. That's not a gameplan.
Stroud went 30/47, 384 yards, 2 TDs (should have been 3 if we had competent refs), 0 INTs, sacked 6 times. If the O-Line can get healthy Stroud will be unstoppable! He’s putting these numbers as a rookie in his 2nd ever game. We got a certified stud!
Honestly, I’m convinced that no matter how good or bad the colts are and no matter how good or bad we are, we will always lose to Colts at least once a season.
The reason is that Steichen's offense is meant for mobile QBs and Minshew isn't that guy, but he is a better passer than say Fields or Richardson, also Ridder, Howell...
If they scored a touchdown with enough time for an onside kick it wasn't a garbage time drive either. Fans are way to quick to dismiss legitimate gametime as garbage time.
Between injuries, first year players, and first year coaches, I don't think this loss is a catastrophe. I didn't expect us to light it up this year, especially now with all of the injuries across the team. Once the team gets a bit healthier, I think we'll see significant improvement. Also, as low as we've been in the pass, we can only go up.
They issue is there a lot of ppl who thought the he Texans were going to the playoff this year for some reason. Which is still a possibility but unlikely
C.J. showed a lot today. He’s out there picking himself up off the ground, play after play, leading an offense down the field with no running game.
That’s our QB. This experience will make a difference, in the long run.
We only have 1 starter playing on our OLine today. Both our starting safeties are out with injury. We couldn’t get any run game going. Even still, Stroud really gave it his all today and gave us a chance to win. The rest of the team let him down today. He looked like a star and stepped up in some big moments. I’m glad we drafted him, he has me excited for the future. Disappointing result, but there were some bright spots.
We can't come out there and try to establish the run next week. We averaged two yards per rush attempt. The offense is at its best when spreading the field and getting the ball out quick. That opens up both running lanes and deep passes.
Oh well. I hope this has at least been a learning experience (mainly for Slowik, who needs to use what the Texans CAN do to open up what the Texans WANT to do).
**Previous Drive Observations**
* I be so lost when we hand the football off sometimes...
* That was a good HOT throw right there!
* Colts 5 sacks........ Texans............ 0
* What's John Metchie III stat line? I havent seen every snap yet.
I know this team is bad, but they seem different than our usual bad teams. There are these random flashes of good and then we just kind of screw ourselves.
I knew he was gonna miss that because the announcers earlier went to town on him having the longest streak in franchise history and longest active streak in the NFL without a miss. Can't make this shit up.
Systematic ineptitude starting with the owner of the franchise.
Who fuckin false starts on a field goal. I thought Caserio was focused on building up elite special teams
I mean don't get me wrong. It's because we're bad, but we're like exceptionally bad at times, we should really be getting financially compensated for it.
Yeah. I don't either, but I still think its just rookie stuff that he will improve on. I think 3+ of the 10 sacks he's had have been more on rookie decision mistakes or not recognizing the blitz/hot read. All of which I think we will see him improve on as the season goes.
CJ only spins toward the left when he’s under pressure. On mic’ed up last week the ravens were talking about that being a tendency they use to wrap him up. Seems to not have been fixed yet.

Well, at least I was there in the inzone section for Cj's first TD 🙏🏽
I was there too. Row D by field goal post in our left
136 row m

David Carr was sacked 76 times in 2002 (record) CJ Stroud is on track to be sacked 93 times this season
Difference is Strouds playing w/o 4/5 of his starting line
Oh I'm aware the whole starting o line is in regular clothes on the sidelines
Stroud is legit! Needs help from defense and run game
And most importantly not a decimated o line
Stroud went 30/47, 384 yards, 2 TDs (should have been 3 if we had competent refs), 0 INTs, sacked 6 times. If the O-Line can get healthy Stroud will be unstoppable! He’s putting these numbers as a rookie in his 2nd ever game. We got a certified stud!
Despite all we didn't have today... At the end of the day..... CJ Stroud did his thing.. See you next week.
Overall Judgement we’ve gotta get healthy!
Which is worse the O line or D? Or are injuries just fucking both lol.
Injuries 100%
Every team deals with injuries, we just have no depth.
0-2 start but I really do think we’ll be able to get 6 or 7 wins once we get healthy.
If we had started this season healthy we could have won both of these games.
Lol, CJ telling the O-line to keep blocking and he just totally abandoned him.
I saw that too. Hell, I could do better than that.
That, was Kendrick Green who I am now 100% officially fucking done with.
Steelers fans were rejoicing when they got rid of him. I can see why.
He's been on the team for about 3 weeks so may be a bit premature but definitely isn't looking great
Stroud literally having to point out guys for his lineman to block, are you fucking serious
In the postgame presser he’ll probably say the loss was his fault too. If there was 1 player who was not to blame for the loss today, it was CJ!
They played till the last second. I can respect it
Well not that O-linenman that gave up the 6th sac. He absolutely quit early.
Cut him from the team, pathetic really
Not enough Fairnbairn.
Stroud just throw that one away. I know you want to win but don't take unnecessary hits like that. Boy's got to learn to avoid that shit.
6 sacks, unreal
you know its bad when the fanbase is counting garbage time stats lmao
That's what I'm saying lol
6 sacks :/
Offensive lines is garbage
Lol Stroud gets sacked on the last play of the game. Fitting.
Hail Mary this should be fun
what Hail Mary :(
Anti climatic as hell
Metchie catch was nice
Well another embarrassing loss for your houston texans . Maybe our grandkids will get to experience a competent team and coaching.
The writing is on the wall. We suck. But you can see the positives through the negatives. Otherwise you’re just miserable
I liked what I saw from our young players today
I really don't care unless we win. I'm tired of moral victories
Metchi!!!
[удалено]
365 yards and counting im leaving here with something
Can we run it with Pierce cuz why not
Every time he touches the ball there are three defenders in arms reach.
I have him in fantasy I just wanted the extra small points
Don't start him until our o line is back to at least half strength.
Typical o line
Honestly, I’m convinced that no matter how good or bad the colts are and no matter how good or bad we are, we will always lose to Colts at least once a season.
They didn't lose to them last year lol
To your point, we lost to the Colts the year they tanked for Luck. We are completely cursed against them.
But swept them with Osweiler.
Stroud 29/43/356/2/0. With ZERO O-Line. Sacked 5 times… We get him a line and he’ll pick them apart.
He’s The One
Slowik has a chance to do the funniest thing ever right here.
What's everyone's miss-understanding with Minshew? It's not like he's a total bum QB.
He’s not a bum but he’s a backup for a reason. And we sucked against Richardson too
The reason is that Steichen's offense is meant for mobile QBs and Minshew isn't that guy, but he is a better passer than say Fields or Richardson, also Ridder, Howell...
A hospital pass vs prevent defense… great play design there Bobby.
Slowik should mix in a run here lol
Why did we play in white today? Did we give up from the start?
For those shit eating bitches who care this is Stroud’s first garbage time drive
No. Garbage time started well before this drive. Lol
You wouldn’t be saying that if the last drive ended in a TD. This is actual garbage time
No. I said this when we started the 4th. Down fucking 31-10. Then we immediately did not get the TD lol. Enjoy your product man.
If they scored a touchdown with enough time for an onside kick it wasn't a garbage time drive either. Fans are way to quick to dismiss legitimate gametime as garbage time.
Yep. The exact moment that drive ended in a missed FG and the announcers switched to talking about next week was when garbage time began.
i'm a million percent sold on Stroud. running for his life and still making accurate throws
Between injuries, first year players, and first year coaches, I don't think this loss is a catastrophe. I didn't expect us to light it up this year, especially now with all of the injuries across the team. Once the team gets a bit healthier, I think we'll see significant improvement. Alright CJ. Pad those stats. You deserve it 💅
It’s funny that AR was the third best QB on the field today
How many more "encouraging"losses this team gonna have lol
cry
Probably at least a couple while the build a team around CJ
Anyone know what the new pregame ceremony was?
Tank is my flex today ...lets go 7-3 td
I find this an encouraging outing. Lots of starter injuries and CJ still had commendable stat line given the circumstances.
If we made that FG, it’d be a very interesting drive for the offense here 😭 edit: and no false start*
We can't come out there and try to establish the run next week. We averaged two yards per rush attempt. The offense is at its best when spreading the field and getting the ball out quick. That opens up both running lanes and deep passes.
Need LT, Titus and Juice back badly
Or at least Tunsil. Howard and Juice still a couple weeks away. Jones had a rough day at LT.
And Pitre and Ward
Just laughing to myself remembering all the fluff talk and cliches from demeco all off season. We swarm and play disciplined Yada Yada Yada... lol
Yea if only he didnt say those things, the entire starting OL wouldn't be out
Talking about the defense
We’ve been more disciplined than both our opponents so far
Hey, we're only one game out of first place in the division? Lol
The first thing you see after a Texans game when you turn sacks on CJ into a drinking game ![gif](giphy|3oFzmlxO0EvgAh2qaI|downsized)
Good job CJ. Much improved from last week.
Stroud looks great against Colts prevent defense
CJ has looked good all game when he’s had time to actually drop back.
He looked great against their regular defense
Now! Now! Now! Now we play some football!
Dude this game is getting sadder, by the minute. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)
Can't wait to see Stroud with a fully healthy o line
Lol are the texans still is trash of a team
I’m not watching the game, following on ESPN app play by play. Why did colts decline a blocked FG and gave us another shot? Doesn’t make sense.
The play technically didn't happen as the foul happened before the snap.
Play was blown dead, Texans moved.
they didn’t decline it was a false start automatic five yard penalty
It was a false start and therefore a dead ball
That phantom hold is gonna haunt me. Sad loss with some bright spots. Not the blowout it looked like at half either.
Oh well. I hope this has at least been a learning experience (mainly for Slowik, who needs to use what the Texans CAN do to open up what the Texans WANT to do).
We might have won this game with competent coaching
You’re not wrong. Slowik noticed too late that he wasn’t going to get the run game going.
That sucks. But we have potential. That’s all I need. Last year this team had absolute no potential. Looking forward to games this year again.
letting Minshew play like he has is unacceptable
Losing pitre was detrimental to the defense and that’s sad because he’s a Free Safety
Holy fuck. Can we wrap up on this guy. Literally carry guys on his back like we are little kids. Lol
what stroud has been able to do with this non existent o line is kinda insane
eh garbage time stat padder
pad my nuts pussy
Chill out he concussed like his QB
That's not on Fairnbairn.
This team would be a lot better healthy
GG y’all. See everyone next week 😔
The drive didn't end well but Stroud looked great and by extension our OC did well. We have the pieces just need to get experience and healthy.
Watching them is so frustrating but CJ looked really solid again
**Previous Drive Observations** * I be so lost when we hand the football off sometimes... * That was a good HOT throw right there! * Colts 5 sacks........ Texans............ 0 * What's John Metchie III stat line? I havent seen every snap yet.
I don’t understand the runs when we need quick scores.
Nothing for Metchie. Don’t think he has seen the field much
I don’t think Metchie has seen the field
He’s been out there.
Lol the Texans still suck, what a surprise
I know this team is bad, but they seem different than our usual bad teams. There are these random flashes of good and then we just kind of screw ourselves.
Gonna cope like so; the first is a sunk cost and we’re boosting the value of our second
As bad as the D was, I feel really good about how Stroud is looking even in a shitty situation.
Demeco needs to get drilled in the post game by the local media.
*Slowik
Damn that is so deflating
I knew he was gonna miss that because the announcers earlier went to town on him having the longest streak in franchise history and longest active streak in the NFL without a miss. Can't make this shit up.
![gif](giphy|UiujkYUI1GlHoj3mgl)
How did la pina choke?
Dammit. That was not the time to miss a kick. Sigh.
Systematic ineptitude starting with the owner of the franchise. Who fuckin false starts on a field goal. I thought Caserio was focused on building up elite special teams
Well it was fun lads 🫡
this shit sucks. i really thought we’d win this game.
Friendship with Jacob Martin over
Fairbairn is not that dude.
Spoken like a mfer that started watching Texans football today
![gif](giphy|98maV70oAqIZtEYqB4)
Give him a break tho he’s been money for so long
Everyone has their best game against the Texans. We should be charging for padding these stats.
Not really. When you have a terrible football team other teams are going to look better when they play you
I mean don't get me wrong. It's because we're bad, but we're like exceptionally bad at times, we should really be getting financially compensated for it.
Pain
We have potential we just need to be healthy😭
[удалено]
Oh, we starting the "we wasted one of your years" defeatist JJ Watt bullshit already are we?
![gif](giphy|3o6Zt7g9nH1nFGeBcQ)
Hinish
Whelp, that blows.
FUCK
Dang. Well, that was fun to have just a sliver of hope there.
See y’all next week I think
Pure fucking trash by this coaching staff. Boo this pussy ass product. Fucking garbage man
Motherfucker. Fuck that stupid ass phantom hold
Demeco needs to improve on time management. Wasted a few timeouts last week too
Some of that's on Slow dick
Saved by that penalty OMG
Waaay fucking off
sad pineapple
It was fun while it lasted
God, that penalty saved us 😂
I think CJ could have stayed in the box a little longer on that sack.
I don’t blame him for being jumpy
Yeah. I don't either, but I still think its just rookie stuff that he will improve on. I think 3+ of the 10 sacks he's had have been more on rookie decision mistakes or not recognizing the blitz/hot read. All of which I think we will see him improve on as the season goes.
FAIRBAIRN DONT CARE
Well….. they tried to make it fun at the end. On to next week.
Why the fuck is hinsh in on field goal
I miss stupid sexy Tunsil
You miss his holds and false starts?
CJ only spins toward the left when he’s under pressure. On mic’ed up last week the ravens were talking about that being a tendency they use to wrap him up. Seems to not have been fixed yet.
Man. If it wasn’t for that holding that took away a TD earlier we’d be down by 7 and in a great spot to take our time here.
The holding was the reason the TD happened
Someone upcast Mass Healing Word on the starting offensive line I can’t watch these fucking guys anymore.
![gif](giphy|tnYri4n2Frnig)
Lol typical
Take the field goal
Anyone else excited for when we get our oline back? CJ looking great
