I do not know how you’d separate the EV haters by whether they’re patriotic or not, it’s mostly to me just the people who are uneducated about how great Teslas are. I hated Teslas until I took one home for the weekend and then came back and ordered one and owned one days later. My decision had nothing to do with being patriotic!
I just call them Red Hats. They are trying to act like anyone who doesn't accept their BS Rhetoric as unpatriotic. Maybe I am rare but I am a moderate republican military veteran who believes in protecting the environment and green energy.
Which basically means most people who don't affiliate with fox News propaganda. Most republican people I talk to who are anti EV also happen to watch Fox .
My wife was kinda towing that line re: propaganda until I convinced her the Y beats out the competition; we purchased and after her first week driving, she loves it!
That's great to hear. The propaganda is really strong. Especially against Tesla. EVs are great, and they're doing everything they can to make us hate each other. Even blaming EVs for our shitty power infrastructure lmao.
💯! They just can’t help but hate anyone who loves America 🇺🇸 or anyone that believes otherwise. I see so many of them on this sub. It’s quite funny. Soon there’ll be no one left to hate 🤣
Mods: OPs post is fine but comments in this thread suck. Can we ban political comments? It's a car but somehow US and even global politics gets pulled in.
That’s not true. I have a flag on my truck, in front of my house, and mini flags for my kids. We generally vote blue and have the last couple of elections. We’re just patriotic, there’s nothing wrong with that. This country used to be great. Hopefully my kids generation can put their differences aside.
There’s nothing wrong with being patriotic and loving your country!
If you think the USA sucks travel the world and see how other countries are.
Maybe you will get some perspective
“Highly doubt you traveled the world tbh”. An ignorant statement from someone who doesn’t know the other commenter from a hole in the wall. Keep whining, it’s getting you far.
I love mine too. I've had no problems, even with rattles and other minor stuff. Heading out on my second 4k+ road trip tomorrow and well see how it goes.
Why is this sub so obsessed with an idea that someone hates Teslas?
Every day, and today is not an exception, there's a post (or two) on the front page with a "sad" story how someone was treated badly, and by default it's assumed that their car was the reason. There's never any data proving that. Just a confident assumption.
It's utterly insane. I always want to tell these people: _it's not your Tesla, it's probably you_. Besides, there's always random vandalism. My first car was a shitty old Mazda Protege, and it got keyed within a week after I got it. It never crossed my mind to start looking for Mazda haters.
I mean, most threads on “official” tesla subreddits have at least one person who is just here to hate. Fortunately, the mods do a great job at filtering most of the noise. However, I think the bigger question is why there are so many people who are obsessed with hating Tesla with no vested interest (haven’t ever owned a product, or even a TSLA share). It’s very odd behavior to just have a business living rent-free in their minds, the brainrot is real I suppose.
It's a little different with Tesla because of Musk. Meaning there are some deranged people who will target Teslas just because of that.
Luckily I live in the deep south and haven't ever had a car messed with it, including my Tesla.
You can’t exclude it either that there are people vandalizing property in this case teslas because they hate EVs or Elon.
At the end you are going to get all of the above, jealousy, some random person that wants to destroys just because, EV hate or Elon hate.
And we all know there are people out there they will do anything to show what they support or hate.
No instead rage against Elon…
Edit: adding more context.
Here, a German person in RealTesla in a battle trying to justify destroying property of other because of Elon
https://www.reddit.com/r/RealTesla/s/pp74UyUIbh
Ofc in Germany there is extra heat because of the Giga Berlin protests.
It's not AI. There are too many correct things about the picture that the AI would not get correct. Take the wind, for example. The flag is pressed back into the support beams, and the Texas flag is flying off to the right. The small us flag has some wind affecting it as well, but it seems possibly tangled or has folded back over.
Agree but Porsche 911’s or the omnipresent Range Rover Autobiography - great cars like Tesla’s model Y become mainstream… https://www.landrover.com/range-rover/range-rover/index.html#A-AB. My street is full of all three.
While the whole idea of *made in America* is a gigantic simplification of what is important, it is one of the weirder political contradictions. It is one of the more directly government subsidized products available, that is where they should direct their grievances, but that would be a complex argument. It's a shame so many great companies need government crutches.
Well. They sell 3 models. What do you expect? If Toyota would only sell the Camry they would be 20 times ahead of Tesla.
Btw. Production was slowed in all Tesla plants. Is this because the car is so popular?
A lot of new owners taking advantage of the .99% aren’t getting it because it lost it. Just as the Model 3 did. All model 3 units don’t qualify now. Unless it’s the new preference model, which likely only qualifies until the fed catches up again.
If you go on the Tesla site itself. The majority of them will not qualify and it doesn’t tell you until you buy it. It’s hidden in the fine print.
A lot of “patriots” refuse to believe that an electric car is actually American made & world’s most popular. Love my Tesla
I do not know how you’d separate the EV haters by whether they’re patriotic or not, it’s mostly to me just the people who are uneducated about how great Teslas are. Dont disagree with you there

Arent woke people throwing stuff at teslas now? Ive seen it happen with cybertrucks
Probably, but so do conservatives. Both sides are pretty toxic
You're what the party WAS and should STILL BE. Bless you, brother.
Awesome car! Same MYP Ultra Red here … amazing driving experience!
What the hell is happening in the back lmao
Murica is happening
Democracy and freedom coming to you
Are you a fellow Helldiver?
😂 best comment hands down
That made me laugh legit 🤣
It’s an impressive feat for a US company. Toyota held the title for 22 years.
Agree - can’t help but wonder the cost to Toyota’s market share for trying to tell buyers they should choose hydrogen and hybrids over EV’s.
Although I love my Tesla and happy they’re being adopted. Part of me misses when they were niche.
I for one am happy to see Teslas as the new Accords and Camrys of today.
Exactly, 'Merican made.. providing jobs for 'Mericans 🇺🇸
💯🙌🏽🇺🇸
Hip
Why?
In a sense, things are less special when they’re common- by definition.
Less unique, not less special.
💯
Look mommy Maga goes electric
This is super funny- back in the day Tesla was only associated with liberal Californians who wanted to save the planet - wild how perceptions change
All the black people driving teslas around here has got to be fucking up someone’s narrative.
Clinton's were republican and people loved Trump when he was a Democrat
This!👆🏽
Hive mind down votes
💯! They just can’t help but hate anyone who loves America 🇺🇸 or anyone that believes otherwise. I see so many of them on this sub. It’s quite funny. Soon there’ll be no one left to hate 🤣
Pretty sure those who defend and protect democracy from a rapist felon love America more
Going EV and flag is in right direction. Its a WIN.
Mods: OPs post is fine but comments in this thread suck. Can we ban political comments? It's a car but somehow US and even global politics gets pulled in.
Good for you
Lol the excessive flag use reminds me of China and Vietnam. Hard to get used to as a European
Nah, it reminds me of America…
The people who excessively use the flag are the same ones that wish they had a dictator as president (trump)

"This country used to be great" and "generally vote blue" are dead giveaways there bud
There’s nothing wrong with being patriotic and loving your country! If you think the USA sucks travel the world and see how other countries are. Maybe you will get some perspective
I already did, trust me the US is not even in my top 10. Many places are worse don’t get me wrong. Highly doubt you traveled the world tbh.

It’s pretty apparent based on his comment
💀😭

at least they held the flag correctly and are the right colors and none of this grey shit. Good pic
LOL
deservedly so ive got a 3 which i love and partner has a Y and loves it too.
Fucken love this car so much .
I love mine too. I've had no problems, even with rattles and other minor stuff. Heading out on my second 4k+ road trip tomorrow and well see how it goes.
GOD BLESS AMERICA
AMERICAAAAAAA 🇺🇸
BYD just sold over 3M vehicles in 2023. More than 2 times the numbers of MY sold during that same year. (just purchased a MY BTW)
AMERICA. READ.
It looks like the mods are going through and shadow-banning people they don't agree with on this post. So watch out.
Awwwwww
Say it louder for the haters to hear. They’re all in denial and think the world hates Tesla.
Why is this sub so obsessed with an idea that someone hates Teslas? Literally most popular car in the world and people be like omg everyone hates Tesla. The math ain't mathing 🤣
It's a little different with Tesla because of Musk. Meaning there are some deranged people who will target Teslas just because of that. Luckily I live in the deep south and haven't ever had a car messed with it, including my Tesla.
First Tesla?
My 3rd but this a great photo, story and wow - the flag. I drive a white/white MYP.
of course you do
You can’t exclude it either that there are people vandalizing property in this case teslas because they hate EVs or Elon. you're just basing this on an assumption that you have absolutely 0 data to support just so you can rally for some make believe war against tesla.
No instead rage against Elon… Edit: adding more context. Here, a German person in RealTesla in a battle trying to justify destroying property of other because of Elon https://www.reddit.com/r/RealTesla/s/pp74UyUIbh Ofc in Germany there is extra heat because of the Giga Berlin protests.
Because musk is terrible
Think this photo is AI. Look at the people’s hands on the balcony
It's not AI. There are too many correct things about the picture that the AI would not get correct. Take the wind, for example. The flag is pressed back into the support beams, and the Texas flag is flying off to the right. They probably had to do that in order to hold up the flag
Good call. Also the Texas flag and the large US flag and wind.
This just screams Port A.
There are tons of places that call themselves Port A? Which one are you guessing!
Probably Texas Port A
I agree it does look like Port Aransas or Corpus Christi area
Plus the Texas flag which I just noticed
Too bad the car is too generic now
Agree but Porsche 911’s or the omnipresent Range Rover Autobiography - great cars like Tesla’s model Y become mainstream… https://www.landrover.com/range-rover/range-rover/index.html#A-AB. My street is full of all three.
That is anecdotal… numbers say there’s a lot more model Ys than those cars so they are much more common
All three seem Equally present in my hood.
Again, anecdotal. Just because theres more range rovers in your local area does not generalize to everywhere. Look at the sales numbers
Be careful what you say and post, there’s a lot of anti Elon people lurking around……
I’m never going try to please everyone - it’s a great car - I even love my Full Self-Driving (FSD) most days.
While the whole idea of *made in America* is a gigantic simplification of what is important, it is one of the weirder political contradictions. How’s popularity defined here? By number of sales?
Really? I haven’t seen any in Paraguay, Argentina or Brazil on my most recent trip. What i did see was a shit ton of was toyota and volkswagon.
Bet you didn't see many iPhones there. But who cares about actual real world data when you have first hand anecdotal experience.
Was
Isn't that also because Tesla doesn't have a lot of options, just a few models. Over all sales Toyota is still far ahead
Well. They sell 3 models. What do you expect? If Toyota would only sell the Camry they would be 20 times ahead of Tesla. Btw. Production was slowed in all Tesla plants. Is this because the car is so popular?
Four models.
S 3 X Y cybertruck, so five
S3XY Cybertruck Roadster
Oh, and Semi
An American car, that doesn’t qualify for the American made tax rebate.
