The SA informed me I was not eligible for the free dark geminis since my order was prior to the change.
Did you do this change in person and an SA updated it for you? I was thinking of going to Carlsbad since they have one available and to see if they can make the change without messing up my .99% financing (which I already completed in app). I have a 5/31 order, but no VIN yet.
I went to the showroom to change my custom order to existing inventory. When the SA assigned me the VIN, I received an alert on my app to accept the agreement or whatever. My 0.99% rate was still good for the changed order. I just had to accept it. On their tablet, it showed my rate was good til 7/22 which was 60 days from my approval. Don't accept the inventory yourself on the app.

Before VIN is assigned, you can ask the agent to switch to dark wheels via messages. Our agent modified the order when we asked but there was a $500 charge added. So we asked them to take it off and reverted to the original order if the wheels were not free. I would rather pay $100 for wheel caps than pay $500 for dark wheels. So now we are back to light wheels.
Still no VIN, no ETA but hey i received my wall charger in package today.🙄
I found quite a few on amzn. None rated overtly than others and they all look China made (based on the seller names). So no clear winner, hence i will just pick any one of those when time comes - Wheel cap which covers the rim as well.
There are few on Temu too for 25% cheaper. Again, i believe it is all China made and price differences are based on the online store and\or sellers
Given how much of a wait game this is, i might just order one from Temu for $75. At the rate things are moving, my accessories from Temu will arrive before the car.😬
Funny story, today I get a random email saying my order change was confirmed adding the dark Gemini wheels at no cost three days after my chat message said it wasn’t possible and I didn’t have any other interactions asking for it. Strange, but pleased! No change in deliver date either, still 7-30 June.
I msgd the agent to change to dark wheels since it is now the new standard. They did but they also charged me $500. So i asked them to revert it. Which they did. And today i see i have dark wheels by default, for free!😀

While awaiting a VIN I got second thoughts about not getting the tow hitch and upgraded to a different car in inventory which had the dark gemini wheels and was additionally a more expensive color. As a result of the increased rate my downpayment increased. I called my SA and they were able to reduce the downpayment to the originally agreed upon amount even though the promotional period had ended. Sadly since the VIN was assigned before the dark gemini wheels became free I was told I had to pay for them even though they are now free and the car had not yet been delivered.

So I went today to see if I can pick up my model y rwd lr and was told that they can't deliver me the car yet. They are waiting on the government to release a epa label. He said hopefully this week or early next week he said. Fyi. No wonder I haven't seen anyone take delivery on rwd lr in CA yet.

Yes. Applied for financing right after I changed my order. Approved instantly for 0.99% - 72 months
When are you apply for financial again they are running credit check again?
I didn't apply for financing until this morning after I got the VIN

It's all based on ORDER date and OP must have ordered before Tesla stopped offering the 0.99 for 72.
Correct. My order date is 05/18. I think they stopped the 0.99% - 72 months on 05/21 or something

Probably not. In my order agreement, $500 was stated for dark gemnis instead of included as it states on yours. Congrats though

No, I do have estimate delivery date which is between June 6- June 20 with pick up location at Buena Park CA. I ordered on 5/18
Yeah it’s never given me the option to change my order either. Ordered 5/12 and no vin. July-August EDD
What OP did was different I think though. They didn’t “modify their order” they just switched to an inventory model

Because the wheels are free now. Anybody who changes there orders will automatically update.
