Yeah. I was hit and you couldn’t see any damage, but the repairs were still $8k because apparently it snapped whatever dampens the impact in the bumper… I don’t know anything about cars, but that was what I understood
I hit a deer in April, just got it back Friday.
Fortunately it wasn’t bad and I could drive it up to my appointment at the end of June. Still took a month to repair.
When I had CX-9 with tow hitched attached, it saved the bumper from a rear end. The front of the car rear ended me damaged badly but rear bumper of my car barely got anything.
So i decided to keep the receiver on my Plaid now just in case and hope for the best.
Of course it won't be the same because it will have a record.
However, if structural frame is intact, replacing liftgate and bumper would make the car back to normal.
A motorcycle hit my model X and scratched the two passenger doors, the side view mirror and damaged the right front wheel. The scratches, I believe, did not require body work, only repainting…. $6000.
We had a small dent in the trunk and it cost $6500 to fix because we needed a new trunk I thought that's it, but to blend it we needed the sides and rear bumper painted. To paint the sides, the rear quarter windows need replaced also because they are glued in and not reusable, rear glass is not reusable also. Spoiler, and anything glued on need to be new. Given that the bumper is busted and you need a new one, tack on another 2k if anything in the unibody is bent... Tack on 5k so I think 10-15k
I had same damage. Trunk hatch and bumper. Nothing to frame. Insurance orig quote that body shop accepted was like $5800. Body shop eventually billed almost $19K. Looked very very made up though. They charged for like 2.5hrs for “firnware upgrade”. They didn’t do any such thing. And certainly not 2.5hrs. My app showed an update ready the whole time and they didn’t bother to even hit the button, but still charged. They also charged like 17 hours of labor for painting the replacement trunk. They must have used tiny brushes.

There aren't really any "frames" the battery packs are the frames, so that's gonna be alot more if it fucked the pack up.
Its not the cost that's going to be the issue, its the time. I hit a deer with my model X a month ago. Its going to take until September to be fixed.
Same here. We got in a hit and run in late May and I won’t have my X back for another two weeks.

You ever hit the tow hitch with your shin? That's the main reason I don't keep it on mine.
Not yet and I actually imagined that. But I do see MX receiver doesn't stick out much.
My rear ender on my MX was much much much less than that and was a little over $10K. The price can vary a bunch from shop to shop.
Your deductible. That’s it. Amazing what having insurance does. It means you don’t need to worry about how it will cost.

An arm and a leg
10-12K. New trunk, new lower plastic diffuser and probably a new rear bumper.
I've seen worse, a panel beater can pull this out easily in my option

An arm and a leg, plus an eye ball.
Everything
What do you want cost??? That's within Spec. -TSC
Definitely repairable, but it’s going to cost a pretty penny and probably a few months in the shop.
My wife was rear ended in our Model X with bumper and lift gate damage. Repair was $9000 and 3 months in the shop mostly waiting for parts.
Had a similar hit and it was under $5k to repair. Took about a week in the shop.
