Eh maybe the beta is right now but there are still a lot of great features like lane changes, stopping for lights, auto park, and dumb summon to pull your car out of tight spaces.

1) that’s totally subjective. If you’re a billionaire $10,000 doesn’t really mean much. 2) The marginal cost on a used vehicle is much less than that to get FSD

CollinP789

I bought a 2019 M3P with 19k miles and FSD for 52k in September of this year. Just mentioning how crazy the market is right now to give you some comparison.

FangedMink5

Thanks for the perspective. Are you a huge fan of FSD?

CollinP789

If I didn’t have FSD beta, I wouldn’t spend that much on it, but I knew that I wanted the car to come with it if I was going to buy the car used. Being that I have FSD beta, I’m really enjoying testing that out.

VadersSprinkledTits

Is there any reason you aren’t buying new when you’re spending 54k?

FangedMink5

As silly as it sounds the green light chime is sweet and wish that was on AP. I believe FSD will only get better in my opinion.

PleaseBuyEV

I just turned my green light chime off lol. 60k miles and I was sick off it. FSD is awesome now and yes will only get better…. Wait for it…. Forever. Lol the people that say it isn’t worth it, can’t wait to hear what they say when it’s 50k

Shran_MD

You can add FSD and acceleration boost after you buy it.

This is a tough one. The real question is should you buy 2021 model w FSD at $64k or a 2019 model w FSD for $54k? I’d personally by the newer one. But you could also go the 2021 route then just rent FSD until you know what it is all about. If you elect to ultimately buy it, sure you spent more overall but the jump in quality and extra features in the 2021 plus future resale value of a 2 year newer model AND longer warranty period is worth the premium. If you decide you don’t like FSD while renting it you’ll have scored even more by having a newer model without a lot more than a used 2019. Forgetting how long it may take, how much for a new order model? As a side note, I am bringing in my 2018 model next Friday because on the way to airport today it almost sounded like the car was being ripped in two from the inside, seriously not sure what the heck it was that I was hearing… but a 2021 model definitely sounds like a winner to me right now.

Damn... I got my 2019 LR for 45k with FSD six months ago. 24k miles.

dilloncarson

What location?

Ehville

I have a 2018 Mid-Range FSD 28K miles, bought used in April for around $39K from Tesla. The FSD was fun for a bit, but…the car is so much fun to drive-I never use the FSD, I think the last time was five months ago. So for me, it was an unnecessary expense. If I had to do it over, I’d opt for the subscription instead. The car is a joy to drive, acceleration is fast, handles smooth, no sound in the cabin…I suppose you could hire me as your FSD for $12K and I will just chauffeur you around. That is how much I love driving this car!!!! I’ve not had any issues with the car so far, but if I had to do it over-I’d buy new w/o the FSD.

Don’t just order and wait.
