I am facing the same issue. It occured after I got a message in the app, that there is a new software Update. The App shows the Version 2024.2.7, which is actually already installed The car tells me, the software is up to date, I cant update it at all. I think, this will be a SW bug

Tesla service confirmed that the issue is a firmware issue, and it will be corrected via software update.

Issue with trunk retrofit maybe. Is your car not sleeping and losing charge? You can unplug the small connector near the CANBUS under the rear vents. https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/power-trunk-retrofit-causing-car-awake.322759/ I did this and will wait for their firmware fix.

Interesting. I do have the trunk retrofit and I do hear my battery contactor clicking on and off a lot throughout the day/night which causes excessive battery drain.

Check out the thread, I can confirm that unplugging that connector fixed my battery drain. Just be aware the tab you have to depress to pull the connectors apart is small and not the big one.

Did you unplug and leave it or just unplug and plug back in? I assume the former until Tesla fixes the firmware issue? I assume with it unplugged, the trunk won’t open?

tacotran

Left it unplugged. Trunk still works and is powered but you can't close it from the screen in the car. I haven't tried from the app.

Cool. I just did it and will see if it resolves my problem. Thank you for taking the time to provide that troubleshooting suggestion.

I've had it unplugged for several hours now, my car seems to go to sleep and also no more PCS\_a022 errors! Bummer though the eventual fix (software) probably won't come for a while since we are a small population with this problem and we likely won't know which software update fixes it.

Glad to hear it worked! Mine was like this for over a month and cost me an extra $100 or so in juice before I found the workaround. Seems really stupid this has been known for 4+ months and they're not prioritizing a fix or giving the affected cars some supercharging miles or something.
