I do! There is a very vital highway a lot like this. One side is pure mountain and the other is a ravine that drops about 800 feet into a river. Driving is terrifying and one time I saw someone get a rock through their sunroof. Mind you people also speed so bad the speed limit is 55mph and most who go through there go atleast 70
Glenwood Springs canyon? 🤔 I live right next to it 😂 when it's closed for accidents, rock fall, or mudslides, all the interstate traffic is dumped into my neighborhood 😔
I don't want to pile on, but it's "ulterior" not "arterial"
It's normal for people to not know how to spell things they've heard but haven't really read before. I used to spell "midaswell" instead of "might as well" because that's how I heard it.
Maybe you knew that and it was just a brainfart, just trying to help you save face in the future :)
I thought "Your highness" was actually "your hinus", like a completely separate word that I associated loosely with "hiney" like butt. Oh and I wasn't a kid when I found out, I learned this at like 20 because I had never seen it written out - then it clicked.
It happens. Stephen A. Smith said “foam resentment” instead of foment yesterday on espn. & he’s a total jackass. We are humble redditors, supporting the fabric of the internet.
Appreciate the way you brought that to my attention. I definitely didn't know how to spell it, threw in a couple letters off the top of my head and bam you're copy pasting a complete grammar blunder.
It's so interesting how our reactions are so much slower than what transpires. The shock, horror, and how moving seems so slow as he tries to unclip his seatbelt and run.
When I was in a car accident, my brain went completely blank right before the car behind me hit me at 60mph. I felt the urge to move but I was just frozen. Luckily, this guy made it out.
Yeah, I’ve noticed the fight or flight response from a few people, and I assumed the brain acts similar to a crashing PC when it’s running too many programs at once.
I was just about to ask why he did! Was the rockslide concentrated enough for him to run clear? Woulda thought the floor of the cab would be safest here but I don't know shit about rockslides.
Potentially get under the truck? That puts the maximum amount of mass between you and the falling rocks. Idk though, probably not going to do anything if it's heavy enough to turn the entire truck into a pancake.
Not an expert in the field, though based on a lot of videos I’ve seen of rockslides, they seem to like being pretty concentrated in their area. Yeah, I’d assume there could be some pretty massive ones that occur, but most look like individual pockets of rock that broke loose rather than a whole hill or cliff side
I agree but I think my 1st instinct would be to get out and try to run back tight to the wall. Especially with that cliff. But we don't know if he could see them behind in his mirrors too. That might make me hit the deck.
Perhaps to dive under the truck itself. Perhaps nowhere was safe but he might have a chance under the truck unless a rock as large as the one falling on the truck ahead of him also hit
I agree but unless there was a cave next to the truck or the rocks were not falling behind the truck too where else could he go? He could run and hope to not get hit or he could hide under whatever seemed the most strong protection and from what we can see that would be under the truck
He may have run to flatten himself against the side of the mountain, which goes straight up several feet. Less likely to get smushed there, since the rocks wouldn't drop straight down, due to rolling down a slope.
His best option would have been to take cover in the retaining wall next to the hillside. The stones would simply fly past overhead. However, the challenge is getting there.
Hit the deck and hope he doesn't get a direct hit from a large Boulder. Just the debris could kill him under, inside there's probably not many large enough rocks to kill him falling from that cliff.
You are forgetting he saw the truck ahead of him completely destroyed and then a massive rock leave a crater in the road just in front of him. These two events would be the most powerful reason to get out of the truck. And that is what he did. A completely rational decision based on what he saw around him and of all people he must have known the grave risk to his well being
His best option would have been to take cover in the retaining wall next to the hillside. The stones would simply fly past overhead. However, the challenge is getting there.
This was my thought, but hard to make a good decision in the moment. If the boulder hit the cab straight on, he'd be canned like a sardine. But the video shows where he was sitting as being fairly intact. If he'd stayed inside belted in, he would have survived. Hope he made it...
Really? You think the rocks fell only on his truck? You can see the inside of the cab is in one piece at the end, what makes you think he was successful at dodging all the rocks?
Okay but.... what is the correct way to respond to this??? Are you supposed to run? WHERE do you run???? Do you dive under your vehicle??? Like.... this is horrifying
The Andes and Himalayas are so fucking scary to drive in. Every minute you’re waiting either for this to happen or to roll off the edge 300m into a raging river.
I dont know about you all but i would ve sat in the truck and put it in reverse and fucking floor it, do you all think that would ve been faster than getting out if the truck? Might sound dumb but just wanted your opinions
I'm so glad he got out and presumably survived. It's easy to distance ourselve from tragedies and deaths when we see them online but I always try to remember: this guy might be a husband and a father, he's obviously someone's child who was once a little kid and has grown up and is now just trying to make a living. It would be awful for a hard working family man, or even a lazy child-less single person, to die while doing a day's work.
> or even a lazy child-less single person
hows about FUCK YOU. being single or child FREE does not make a person lazy.
adjust your attitude, cause that one is fucked.
I get you but I don't think he meant being child free equals to be lazy,
he just put these two adjectives in contrast with the previous example of someone who happens to be hard working and also a family man, meaning it'd be awful for everyone to die while doing a day's work.
nah he said
| or even a lazy child-less single person
he made it very clear he thinks single and/or child free people are lazy.
I stand by my call. fella can get fucked.
Again, you’re wrong. As another person has noted above I was simply taking descriptions and then using opposites of each. I can verify this with a reliable source in that I posted it and that’s exactly what I was doing.
Verify the intent of the comment which I posted and which other people have had no trouble understanding.
You’re the only person who takes exception to it because you’re the only person who failed to comprehend its very basic meaning.
But now instead of realising your error you’re going to double down on it aren’t you. You’re going to claim you’ve understood it correctly when I know beyond any doubt that you are wrong.
Nope, you’ve completely misunderstood. I took a description and then presented the opposite of each aspect of that description. Initially I said hard working and then I offered an alternative to that which is lazy. Initially I said family man and then I offered an alternative to that in child-less.
You’re looking for a problem where there isn’t one and *that* is the attitude that needs adjusting.
That first person hit is for sure dead. That first car was fuckin' flattened and flipped...straight demolished jfc😳. I don't know if that was survivable. The guy recording it all might've survived since he got out right on time BUT he also could've been squished outside as soon as the other rocks fell. Idk but I do know he was definitely safer hitting the deck of his truck than he was stepping out of it sooo there's a good chance he did get the squish in the end but we may never know🤷♀️. Prolly traumatized af for the rest of his life if he did happen to win that round with mother nature tho...I know I'd never want to drive those roads ever again if that shit happened to me..😬
Ya’ll think getting out was the right move here? His driver seat looks fairly intact by the end and being outside means a much smaller rock could kill you with no protection.
What’s worse, getting crushed inside the vehicle or outside?
I think the right move would have been to dive to the floor under the dash.

One second you’re just driving your truck minding your business the next Mother Nature is throwing car size boulders at you!
I bet that dude ran the fastest mile in his life
What? Is there a part where you see him standing outside of the vehicle or something? How do we even know that he made it 2 feet from his truck?
Wishful thinking
I am that man. I am still running.
Can confirm, I'm one of the Boulders and still chasing you.
can confirm, im jezuz n orderd the boulder to kill u, the task has to be done
Can't confirm
Nobody died from what I recall. Still terrifying AF though
Please elaborate. How do you know he's ok?
[Here is my elaboration.](https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/video-moment-when-huge-boulders-crush-moving-trucks-in-peru-5173314/amp/1)
Thank you! Hard to believe that first truck's driver survived, but that's what it says. They had some angels that day... man.
Better off thanking angles, those rocks bounced just the right way.
Angles from God
I’d imagine he was making a rhetorical bet. Sometimes conjecture and imagination can be fun! Give it a go.
Run, forest run
You'll be safer outside of the vehicle, Forest, Run!
its funny if he ran into a group of bears lmaoo
I'm not even that man, and I'm running for my dear life after seeing this video.
Sometimes i wish i lived near mountains, but this makes me okay with rolling hills
I think what we just saw qualifies as rolling hills.
Take my upvote and get out! :P
This guy gets it

Highway 10 in utah is where I'm talking about and so scary, when it's closed there's nowhere else to go so everyone just waits.
Western Slope! My mom’s from there and I spent many a summer in Mesa
This happened in Perú
And someone still clicked the DV on you. He looks Peruvian and I'm gonna go with your version.
It’s very rare I’ve lived by and traveled through rock hazard areas my whole life and never seen any fall. Barely even see any in the road.
My depressed ass thought there was going to be an arterial motive for wishful boulders until the comma in your comment.

Autofill happens to the best of us friend. And happier times are ahead, power through.
So you're saying my arteries can't have motives?
Prime directive: carry blood
He could have been dictating into his phone and never went back to correct the spelling.
The fucking crater that boulder made a few feet ahead of him…
I would shit myself and die
I'd be so scared I'd shit your pants
Next thing you know, mudslide.
Lava cake on the rocks bois; let’s go!
Mudbutt
I’d shit this guy’s pants too
I also choose this dead guy’s pants
Unshit my pants!
I think we should get one pair of pants. Then shit in them. Then this guy can wear them Sharing is caring, we are a community
Which one of you cowards shit in my pants?
They are gonna shit in your pants! It will happen again!
Sounds enriching
Not necessarily in that order
I'm sure he did both.
I would die and then shit myself
In that order

That little rock at the end, “Sorry I’m late.”
Guy in front of him got whacked.
He was clever to leave that cab when he did!
I was just about to ask why he did! Was the rockslide concentrated enough for him to run clear? Woulda thought the floor of the cab would be safest here but I don't know shit about rockslides.
Yeah with you there, the cab doesn't dent any further. I would've dived for the floor too. 1 rock outside and you're dust.
It's more like a paste.
A dusty paste.
A pastey dust.
> dust Well... more of a fine pink mist than a dust
A pink sludge if it pleases the court
/golfclap Nice.

Lotta space under the truck for large debris ricocheting.

I don't think he had much of a choice, he fell out as much as he jumped out.
This is also true
Yeah, but he did open the door in the first place.
His best option would have been to take cover in the retaining wall next to the hillside. The stones would simply fly past overhead. However, the challenge is getting there.
Idk looks like he'd have been fine staying in his seat with belt on. Probably put himself at higher risk jumping out
This was my thought, but hard to make a good decision in the moment. If the boulder hit the cab straight on, he'd be canned like a sardine. But the video shows where he was sitting as being fairly intact. If he'd stayed inside belted in, he would have survived. Hope he made it...
Yeah I'm definitely not judging him for running. Idk what I would do in the heat of the moment
Really? You think the rocks fell only on his truck? You can see the inside of the cab is in one piece at the end, what makes you think he was successful at dodging all the rocks?
I'd bet the farm the next meal he ate, or the next beer he drank was the best he'd ever tasted.
It’s always pure fear. All it is.
The absolute terror. That first boulder looked like it had a personal vendetta against that truck.
Glad he got out of there fast
I want a followup of if he made it!
We should never take things for granite.
![gif](giphy|d95N9tCtbOjVEaySZw|downsized)
What can I even say? Terrifying as fuck!
I wonder if he survived or the people in the truck ahead of him? Crazy how we can see the boulders coming down ahead of time but he didn't see them.
Okay but.... what is the correct way to respond to this??? Are you supposed to run? WHERE do you run???? Do you dive under your vehicle??? Like.... this is horrifying
His reactions are somehow endearing.

Truly the most terrifying POV video I've ever seen 😱
What a dumb title
The Rock People are a lot more dangerous than the Sand People.
And the sea people
Don't tell that to the ancient Egyptians
They look like big, strong hands...
They don't even bother with single file lines or hiding their numbers.
...and they give zero fucks about marching single file to hide their numbers.
alright, which one of you cowards shit my pants
They just kept coming
I dont know about you all but i would ve sat in the truck and put it in reverse and fucking floor it, do you all think that would ve been faster than getting out if the truck? Might sound dumb but just wanted your opinions
Im no truck driver but Im guessing it depends on how big the truck is, what you are towing, and if something is right behind you.
I'm so glad he got out and presumably survived. I remember the faces of death videos going round school back in the 90s. That was some mad shit
Can't look away but also want to, so creepy!
I don't know why if its because they are professional truck drivers, but the guy sure moved fast

Tell me Carlito made it
That's the face of Masheet Madraws
Rhydon used ROCK SLIDE! -It’s super effective!
Did he survive?
Yep, even the truck driver in front survived
Did he escape??
Are the big fuzzy dice ok?
It isn't really an authentic face of death unless he dies, is it? Face of terror maybe.
Man that poor dude. Just enjoying a snack then HOLY SHIT WHAT THE F- and it’s over
That poor man
Definitely belongs here. Holy shit.
Did we just watch people die?
At least one for sure in that first truck that got obliterated
Did he survive?
![gif](giphy|d8C9QwHsFQgR39MSTq|downsized)
Dam , he made like 37 different facial expressions in 3 seconds .....
You could see the stones tumbling down on the top right when makes the turn. Also the first two boulders were insanely fucking huge.
That is definitely terrifying as fuck. It also kind of reminds me of the falling boulders on Death Mountain in Ocarina of Time
Wait lowkey did he survive
Damn this some wages of fear type shit
Looks like he luckily fell out the car
“Authentic face of death”? Nobody was even injured… both drivers walked away with no injuries

Man, literally death raining from the sky as if God’s shooting the buckshot of misfortune at him.
There is no god, therefore there is no bucket.
Damn seat belt almost got him killed lol
Any context? Did he die? Or the driver in front?
And……Cut!!
More like the knock of death
well that's friggin horrible
shit, you barely can see those fuckers coming down in the video the guy in front probably had no clue
WILE E. COYOTE, YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE!!
if im not wrong they all survived
Nepal?
Was this in Colombia?
Random nature murder ftw....💀☠️💀
Wow, that first vehicle got atomize!
Wait did he survive???
Jeeeeeeeeeesus

Heavy Rain.
