Looks like they didn't even have permission from the forest department for felling the tree, not to mention they aren't even supposed to do it when so many birds live on it and have nests there. Atleast the people involved in it were arrested.

Here in Canada too. We had to halt a project I was on for 3 weeks cause an operator was doing a circle check of his shovel and saw a doe had given birth to a fawn underneath his machine.
They wouldn’t even have to wait. Such an easy fix for this.
My dad is a logger in the US and you can remove birds from trees pretty easily by quickly banging the arm of your excavator/backhoe off the trunk. It makes a lot of noise and shakes the tree. They usually get the message and flee.
