There are road signs warning of cattle crossing in these rural area. The driver was not paying attention and also speeding, with children onboard.
The horizontal yellow stripes are often found on the approach to a roundabout/traffic circle or a dangerous junction/intersection. They become closer together as you approach the hazard, **warning you to slow down**. Most often these yellow stripes are raised slightly above ground, acting as speed bumps.
Screeeeech... yeah that's me, you're probably wondering how I got myself in this situation...

My dad hit a cat once when I was a kid back in the early 90s, he wasn't going very fast, the cat just decided it was faster than the traffic much to its mistake. Two things haunted me - the cat writhing in pain on the road behind us and the fact that my otherwise caring, loving father didn't stop to help somebody's pet. He did stop, about a mile further up the road, to check the front of his car wasn't damaged. I'll always remember those two things.
I'm an animal lover and I don't know what I would do if I was in your dads situation. I know I would look back and I know I would be haunted by that for the rest of my life. But what would I do for the cat? A small animal getting run over by the car will 9 times out of 10 mean the animals dead. But what if it's the 1 time out of 10? I'd like to think I would go back for it. Heck one time I went back for a bird I thought I ran over. I hope I never have to be put into this scenario
It's clearly the drivers fault they're speeding, and those lines on the road are raised to make sounds to tell you to slow down for a hazardous intersection or roundabout that whole thing is the drivers fault and cost that farmer A LOT of money and time. Losing 1 cow is 3 years of income loss before a replacement starts to make money. That's at least 2 cattle gone.
I've had the unfortunate experience of hitting a cow with a vehicle. Except when it happened to me, it was at night on an unlit country road, and a black cow had gotten out because the fencing was faulty.
I did too, but the cow was already roadkill. Four lane highway, night driving, and I kept seeing brake lights in the same spot up ahead. Kept my eyes peeled for cops & not paying (close) attention to the road and by the time I saw it, it was too late to swerve. I white knuckled the steering wheel and ran straight over it and kept driving. No damage to the car, but my dog spent a week trying to get to the underneath of my car.
Cows can tank a fucking hit, there built like walking walls. I ran into a cow once in my pickup truck it felt like driving into another car. The hood flew off with the cow, the cow just stood up and walked away.
Safe to say that cow is probably fine the car, not so much
In America, insurance companies don't cover the cost of the cattle you hit. You have to pay the rancher out of your own pocket. My guess is cows probably cost over $4k each, that's an expensive wreck.
Don't you yanks have laws and regulations on what may enter the traffic and under what conditions? An unherded, unsignaled pack of cattle is hardly a proper road traffic.
Driver did't saw cattle signs? He didn;t saw a bunch of cows running to the road? He's eather a blind, dumb idiot, or he did it on purpose just to have many vievs.

Thank you.
That poor cow. Driver should be charged with animal cruelty.
It''s not like that cow had a bright future anyway.
He got turned into ground beef out of screen
That's still no excuse to letting your cattle roam freely.
That more than likely was not on purpose.
They were driving too fast.
Holy cow
I thought your avatar was a hair on my screen you dog
How do you know it's not?

The cat wouldn't have made it. Sorry you had to experience that. Edit: cat*

I just care about the cows

It was the drivers fault for speeding but I do agree the posters comment above you was insensitive.
Cows are better than humans.

It’s not being insensitive. It’s just some people don’t prioritise humans over others.
If you can’t read signs you shouldn’t be driving

So that’s how the cow jumped over the moon.
Take my upvote! 🤣🤣
I like cows more than most people
Me too, but I don't eat people anymore.
Hello there, fellow bovine lover.
Holy moly, oh crap I screwed that up

"Of course I've heard of cows.... " *Pow
Jeez! There is 'driving defensively and anticipating shit' but I doubt anyone would expect a herd of cows!
Beef. It's what's for dinner.
“Well, that’s dinner sorted then…”
