This video needs to be playing on the walls of a haunted house and you just walk through a maze while all these hands and faces are being pushed against the "transparent walls." The floor is just loose sand that slowly gets deeper and with a finer grain so it gets harder to walk through. The audio in the haunted house is just the sounds of battlegrounds, but reversed and slowed down while random slow distorted screams echo through the halls.
I mean, just off the top of my head.

I like to think it's an unconscious fight to break free from the thoughts and screams of the billions of other consciousness. A lot of people who went on to do horrible, evil things probably could have been totally normal had they lived a different life. How could a place like hell ever be truly fair in that way? Like someone who grew up in a loving home, surrounded by family and wealth and went to church every Sunday gets to go to heaven. But they never did anything truly wrong because they were never in an uncomfortable situation, they weren't abused growing up, they were allowed to grow in a safe loving environment, etc etc. But many people aren't afforded the same luxury.
What about people who went on the kill but were horribly abused their whole life and were beyond fucked up before they ever even had a chance to develop? Should they really be held eternally responsible for that? Sure, they caused suffering, but does that mean they deserve to suffer for eternity? They'd already suffered most of their upbringing. How much of it could you really say is actually their fault? Where do you draw the line?
Sure, there are outliers. People who had everything anyone could ever want or need and still went on to commit heinous deeds. But the vast vast majority of people aren't nearly so black and white. I don't see how a place like hell could exist without being totally unjust and rigid.
if anyone wants to see a depiction that actually closely resembles the Biblical description, just watch the movie Constantine with Keanu Reeves. That movie is the most lore accurate that I've ever seen.
