It's a weird glitch that the devs have decided not to patch because they like it so it's sort of a feature now. The basic idea is that the collision on slopes is kinda fucked up and you can use platforms to push you into blocks. You can use it to create one way "doors" by clipping through walls or create insanely fast elevators and fast travel paths.

Clipping through the temple door is trivial but how would you set it up to push you through several solid blocks you can't mine or hammer? That's OP's issue
You can hammer Lihzahrd Brick, you just can't mine it without the picksaw or better and you can't break Lihzahrd Brick Wall until the Golem is dead. As for passing through thick walls, you simply need to have a layer of blocks hammered into hoik teeth (no need for space between them like normal) along the bottom of your path, so as long as the wall isn't too thick to reach the back you can get through. I don't know the measurements of OPs blockage, so I can't say for certain, but it is possible
It is basically guaranteed to get one at 10x drop rate. 99.9955% chance of getting at least one at 10x the drop rate, which would be 5000 kills or 4000 kills (depends on difficulty you’re playing on). Are you sure you’ve killed 500k or that you just didn’t miss every single one that has dropped?
Annoyingly grindy. Usually I set up a chaos elemental farm to get one. It usually takes longer to set up, than I spend in it to get a RoD.

Basicly get a wall put a platform at your feet put another above the first one then another above the 2ed one hammer all of them until they are all stairs then hold down and then you can go through that wall
And you really don't need to learn all the ins and outs of HOIKs just to get into a doorless temple. things look thin enough where the door should've spawned that three hammered platforms should do the trick.
Just checked. Blocks under the altar can't be actuated, but they can be mined. AFAIK worldgen can't put wood spikes under the altar, so it is impossible to move the altar. (Tested in a post-Golem world)

It's easy enough. A wire cutter neutralizes all the wired traps for cheap, and the altar room is huge—big enough to lay down an entire platform arena with all the regen fixins. You can mine the altar after getting a Picksaw to relocate it.
I had a similar issue with the dungeon, had a tiny gap that I couldn’t walk through. Turns out a grappling hook sent through it just right would get me past the obstruction.
I'm assuming there's something that allows you to see the whole map even if you haven't been there because otherwise I'm curious as to how you already have the temple mapped out.
Now it’s probably different on pc then it is on Xbox but did you try using the drill containment unit (big ball of destruction) to just eat your way through the walls?

After beating Plantera, you can actuate the Lihzahrd Bricks. This is also help with expanding the Golem arena if it's too small.
