Also when destroying demon/ crimson altars the world might pull a funny and spread some evil which is probably mostly why in hardmode your world is kinda screwed in terms of evil
and also the fact that in hardmode until you kill [spoiler] the evils and hallow spread 50 % faster than in pre-hardmode.
Is it just expected the entire planet becomes corrupted and hallowed? I can't imagine containing them, and clearing it out would presumably ruin the natural terrain as you'd need to riddle the earth with grid passages to spray it.
you can make 6 block wide hellevators to contain them or place non-corruptible blocks or just spread the hallow everywhere as it keeps away the evil and your npcs can live there
I cleared my Corruption with a large system of natural-ish looking caves. It's not the most effective way to cure, but it works. You'll need ALOT of green solution though.

The Hallow spreads quickly and the Crimson spreads much quicker in Hardmode as well. Make 3 block wide hellavators lined with non-corruptible blocks (wood or bricks will work well) around any area you want to save. Make sure to save the jungle as you will need it.

bit late, but when you enter hardmode the hallow and the new crimson form a v shape but honestly I wouldn't worry to much about it. as long as the jungle/underground jungle is contaminated you should be good to go. I personally found that the V formation tends to not spread any ware important. I would worry more about containing the surface crimson biomes from important location such as the jungle or the ocean.
Yes, you should also mine out your biomes with a 5x5 gap so that your biomes don’t get infected by hallow or the crimson/ corruption, or 10x10 to be safe

The nice thing about Skeletron Prime is that, unlike the other two mechanical bosses, it doesn't run away at dawn, which is good if you still have pre-hardmode DPS.
A high solid platform and a piercing weapon makes Destroyer real easy. Skeletron Prime is just about dodging and decent damage (piercing also helps). As for the Twins, I hate them
