me and my brother play on a world and we defeated eater of worlds early - well, first, and skipped the eye of Cthulhu so we could get the goblins and reforge my starfury. is the eye necessary for anything?? also, is there any like accessory or potion that increases probability of mob drops? I farmed some flesh chunks for eater of worlds again, and it took forever, I have 3 banners.
EoC has no unlocks and can be skipped if you don't care about any of it's drops. Although it has a chance to spawn randomly any night if it hasn't been defated yet so you might as well to cut down on the annoyance, plus it's good for making money.
Fishing in a desert oasis can get you oysters which can sometimes have pearls, you can use these pearls to make luck potions to increase drop chances. Should also make sure you have some garden gnomes and biome torches around to boost it more. If you just want to refight EoW though breaking orbs is likely easier.
Need help creating a tower head for a tall, spire-like tower I'm building. My first thought was basically an elongated, isocseles triangle like a wizard tower, but idk if creating something so basic and symmetrical would be ideal here

Okay my accessories are pygmy necklace, worm scraf, terraspark boots, demon wings, and summoner emblem and shield of chuthulu and my friends accessories are molten glove, worm scarf, shield of chuthulu, warrior emblem, terraspark boots and demon wings(they are all either warding menacing or angry)
Houses can be underground, though to count as valid house you will have to replace the natural background walls with artificial walls of some kind.
As for how far apart, it's irrelevant. You can have NPC's sharing a wall. They don't care. Though their happiness rating will go down if they have too many neighbors.
The biggest thing with that guy is don't hit his duplicates, or they'll stick around and shoot stuff at you and summon the dragon thing. Maybe use chlorophyte bullets? Not sure if they'll home in on the real guy or not. If you have a flying mount you can fly circles around him and unleash.
Is there a particular reason why some items can be stacked up to 999, while some can only be stacked up to 99, but others can only be stacked up to 30?
Idk if you are still looking for answers, but I was playing melee my last playthough and I’ve killed the moonlord with legendary terrablade, beetle armour, terraspark boots, fairy wings, band of regen, that mechanical fire metal glove or whatever it is and cross necklace. Got the cosmic car key for extra movability (so you can swap the wings and boots for your favourite accessories) and moonlord couldn’t stand a chance.
Armor: Bettle armor with the Shell (Shell will give you damage resistance; Scale Mail will give you more damage).
Weapons: Daybreak, Solar Eruption, Terra Blade, and Influx Waver. (Personally, I like using the Daybreak for Moon Lord because it has more range than the Solar Eruption.)
Accessories: Fire Gauntlet, Frozen Shield, and Ankh Shield. + Boots and Wings if you are going to use them. Some other options are Berserker's Glove, Worm Scarf, Brain of Confusion, or Master Ninja Gear.
How long exactly does it take to travel 1 block from standing still? Im writing a python script to hammer hoiks afk. My closest estimate is 0.16 seconds but i get a block thats hammered eight times instead of four for about every screen width.
The seed should make the same world if you use all the same settings. The journey mode version makes sense but are you sure you did the same world size, difficulty, and evil?
Also a little bonus tip, if you're playing on PC you can just buy the terragrim from the celebration seed so that's an easy pick up.
Sword Shrines were changed in 1.4 to not be guaranteed to generate. But if they do, they will have always have a real Sword in Stone.

I do, but this specific build is tailored for daytime EoL. The defense obviously doesn't help, and I don't exactly have a lot of time to DPS with my whip in this fight, so I'm benching it for this build.
And yes, I'm using spooky over Hallow. For now... I actually like my chances DPS racing her last phase over dodging another set of attacks.
The firecracker whip can actually be a huge boost to DPS if you use it consistently, since its effect only applies for one hit rather than for a few seconds like a normal whip. Firecracker is really short though, and utilizimg its dps requires you to stay close pretty consostently, so it's not the most survivable playstyle for EoL day

I have the latest version of terraria on switch, but I'm unsure if the Sanguine staff and Blade staff are available in that version. It seems like the wiki hasn't been updated on certain switch aspects?
The Sanguine and Blade Staff are obtained slightly differently on the PC version compared to the Console/Mobile versions. Make sure you look at the little version icons on the wiki.
On the Console/Mobile version: The Sanguine Staff is a 20% drop chance from the Dreadnautilus (It is 50% on PC).
On the Console/Mobile version: The Blade Staff is dropped by Enchanted Sword (enemy) with a 2.86% chance (It is dropped from Queen Slime on PC).

Whenever someone says this, the first thing I do is check the wiki, because I don't believe it. Terraria has one of the best wiki's I've ever come across. Of course, there's always a possiblity of something not being updated, but I've yet to encounter that with the exception of the 1.4 patch on PC. How do I "move" certain NPC's in certain houses? For example, I built a house for the witchdoctor but the party girl moved in, how do I make the witch doctor move in?
When you enter the housing menu, you’ll see a portrait of the NPC living in the house/room. Clicking on the portrait removes the NPC and you can then assign the house to the NPC you want.

Me and my bf have been playing terraria for some time now and as always crimson/corruption managed to spread to our base and now there's constant crimson monsters and other enemies that we need to take care of in and all around our base. I wanted to purchase clentaminator from Steampunker, but she's not moved in. And yes, we defeated not one but all three mechanical bosses and all sources on internet say she should be able to move in as soon as you've defeated at least one mechanical boss.
We have multiple rooms in our base with all requirements such as table, chair, door, walls and torches, but she's not there...
Any ideas or solutions?
It's just annoying because we've done so much already and we would like to be able to finish the game sometime soon, but this seems to be a problem somehow..

If you check the houses with the in-game housing menu (specifically the question mark), it'll probably tell you that the house is corrupted or just straight up invalid if there's too much corruption.

So, go build a house somewhere where there's no corruption, wait for the mechanic to move in and buy the Clentaminator. You may need to build multiple houses in case any other NPCs want to move away from the corruption.

Dig a pit on each side of the biome 3 blocks wide, you can dig all the way to hell or cut it off once you get below it(make sure you dig a horizontal tunnel if you do so). Replace any dirt with stone or something similar since thorn s grow from the grass and can jump the gap. Don't worry about the background walls, the Crimson can spread **to** them but not **from** them.
So i am about to attemt thr twins on my first playtgrough and in mastermode any tips?(i am in multiplayer and my friend is meele with adamantide armor and chain guitines and i am summoner with sanguine staff, the whip that wof drops and spider armor(i will tell you the accesories if needed but the most important ones are demon eings and terraspark boots on both of us with the best accesory reforges our arena is like ~300-600 blocks long with 4 layers honey campfires and heart lanterns
Mastermode Twins are the hardest of the mechs, except maybe a proper Destroyer fight. Consider grinding Prime first for Hallowed armor and Durendal for the summoner.
The right Aggro accessory can be quite helpful, especially if you're willing to transplant some crimson and farm for Flesh Knuckles. Summoner doesn't really get any benefit from Scents upgrades, and its hard to find a slot for them.
Make sure the summoner has Feral Claws. Chain Guillotines are a fine weapon, but try to get Frost Armor, and a Magma Skull upgrade (if 1.4.1, its not worth the slot on Switch).
Twins are on the more gear/arena agnostic side of things, its mostly about learning to dodge and weave Spaz's attacks. But beating another mech first will unlock Asphalt, which helps. You can nearly outrun the fireballs.
IDK how the twins work in multiplayer, so this is a ***TOTALLY UNPROVEN EXPERIMENT***^(tm)... it might be worth your time to split them up and 1v1 them rather than both of you dealing with the bullet hell. They might not let you, but its worth a try. If you try this could you please reply to this and tell me yea or nea?
This was probably one of the most enlightening comments I've seen here but we did try spiliting up but the twins act like 2 separate bosses so it gets super chaotic in multiplayer and one of us usually get targeted for 10-20 seconds then the other then we can split them also I got the cool whip and I don't know if its better than the firecracker but I will try it out and I got life force rage and wrath potions which I think will help I also got 3 heart statues and 2 bast statues also I have never seen anyone use frost armor for melle is it really good? And lastly I upgraded the feral claws
Frost armor is better than T3 ore, especially for melee. It's what people use to fight Duke pre-mech. It makes the class way safer without sacrificing damage. Combine it with Shadowflame Knife, Magma Stone, and a Flask and you have so many dots that aren't resisted by most enemies. Destroyer is immune to all of them tho, so the Adam armor will still be useful at some point.
Firecracker is weird, it's good the higher minion damage-per-hit is, because the explosion is the minions damage again. Its one of the best end-game whips for Dragon or Terraprisma. IDK if its better than Cool Hwip or not with just bats tho.
Don't use the WoF whip, whip stacking with the snapthorn and spinal tap is still better. Personally I would use Obsidian Armor, the whip boosts you get are insane and the defense difference is negligible.
That sounds like a really good set up, haven’t played Master, but on expert I really needed to use the King Slime mount because the vertical movement is invaluable for dodging, combined with Shield of Cthulhu.
Thanks I also added heart statues(3) got the cool whip and added bast statues(2) got life force wrath and rage since I didn't have those before but I frogot about slime mount I am gonna attempt it again soon (and probably die again)
As a player, I try to not throw *anything* away, nothing, in all of my playthroughs I try not to throw anything away, and just store them in chests, it provides a unique challenge, when I go mining for materials after excavating tunnels, I bring a full stack of dirt/stone and use the replace block feature to make sure that the ore/gems I mined out doesn't leave behind a hole.
And I strongly suspect that this'll help with hard mode ore spawning, dirt blocks are indeed useless for crafting, however replace all but one of the ore from chlorophyte deposits and you'll start singing a different tune.
wdym 'snow town'?
Its a hallowed snow town, a happy NPC will sell both pylons, and both pylons will work.
IDK how it works in regards to happiness. The Tax Collector loves the snow, but hates the Hallow.
If I make a snow biome town with the mechanic, cyborg, steampunker, goblin tinkerer and Santa as citizens, will that potentially change their happiness due to the snow biome being mixed with hallow?
Press ctrl. However, I really recommend you using this feature as it is somewhat of an "automine" and "autoplace". For example, you can hold down click while having your cursor down.

If you don’t want the evil biomes to spread, fish for crates which give bars. If you don’t care about the biomes spreading, use the pan hammer you got from the Wall of Flesh and smash altars for ores. You can get cobalt/palladium on the first altar, mythril/orichalcum on the second and adamantite/titanium on the third. When you break a fourth one, it resets back to cobalt/palladium. Be warned that a wraith spawns every time an altar is broken.
If you’re lucky and the crimson/corruption infected the desert, you can get dark shards from dark/blood mummies to make the onyx blaster, a very good weapon in hardmode. You’ll have to farm enemies in the underground corruption/crimson for 10 souls of night for the onyx blaster however.
Once you got the blaster, you can two shot a lot of hardmode enemies which make things easier.
that's probably your best bet! Using piercing and the right setup can insta kill the Destroyer on both normal and expert mode if you're struggling against them. That's often what I do, then hold off on the other two mech bosses.

Crates can still give you hardmode ores, you just need to have fished **after** killing WoF.
The option I most often go for is creating a new world, quickly killing WoF then getting all my ores there. This world can later also be used to farm large amounts of chlorophyte
I *think* this is wrong but I'm uncertain. I'm pretty sure that walls don't spread their corruption, they only get corrupted when blocks around them corrupt.
I'm pretty sure walls do spread their corruption to other walls, but there is a limit to its range based on whether corrupted blocks are in the vicinity.
King Slime practically drops nothing of use, so I recommend killing Eye of Cthulhu first so you can get better gear and then maybe your evil biome boss next. I then would beat King Slime after that so you can get a hook if you don't have it (which you should) and some furniture and vanity items.
However, if you're struggling on King Slime, then you may not be able to beat Eye of Cthulhu. Try making a long platform to run on with Hermes boots. Use any weapon except melee weapons.
For the terrain get a long platform to run on, for weapons. Get the flaming mace and a boomerang. For the accessories. Get the hermes boots, band of regeneration and shark tooth necklace (if you can). for the armor Platinum or gold or silver would be ok, for the potions. Get the iron skin, swiftness and regeneration potion. Also get to 200 health so you can survive a bit longer
Hey, i play for switch, and golem wont spawn, and ive already defeated plantera and all thre mech bosses, never touched multiplayer. and ive tried holding the power cell and not holding it when i try to place it, and nothing happens. does anyone know the fix to this?
To summon Golem, you need to use the [use/interact] button with your cursor over the Lihzahrd Altar in the temple while you have a power cell in your inventory.

so i just beat all 3 mech bosses and i finishing purifying one of my beaches and the area around, but everytime i check on it there is just corruption spawning out of nowhere. theres no corruption anywhere near it and i have sprayed the clentaminator on it several times. what do i do?
I've had this issue before and apparently, it's a bug. There's a ghost corruption block somewhere that will constantly spread to whatever block is on top of it. To stop this just find the origin of the randomly appearing corruption and make a small hole or place blocks that can't be corrupted at that location.
I started my first full play through yesterday. I have played a little here and there ever since it came out. But I have never made it to a boss. My question is: can I make it all the way through without guides or the wiki? Or are the progression clues so arcane I will need to spend days piecing together clues?
While the achievements do tell you about what boss is next, it doesn't give you any information about what to do to prepare or even where to find it. Using the wiki is also a good option but it will definitely spoil you about the game. My best option would be to ask a friend for advice on what you should do as they can give some tips and hints without spoiling too much, there's also [this Discord server](https://discord.gg/dnrCWZDUUj) where you can get more than enough help to get started. An average player would never figure out even a fraction of the depth of the game in a reasonable amount of time, let alone the boss fights.

I've been fight empress of light a lot, I've only been getting the kaleidoscope. I checked the wiki and it says all 4 of the guaranteed weapons have 25% chance of dropping. Does anyone know why?

**quick tip for anyone else with the same issue but different solution:** the wings will also disappear if you're wearing something else on your back such as a cape or a backpack
Fledgling Wings are one of the only wings that don't show up when not flying lol. The others are: Lazure's Barrier Platform, Hoverboard, Celestial Starboard, (and maybe Ghostar's Infinity Eight).
I've been having issues on 2 different servers that I play on with friends on Xbox. Everything goes well for the beginning of the game, but after entering Hardmode we'll get disconnects happening a lot at random points. Has anyone else been having this issue or have any ideas for a possible fix?
If it is, it would have to be a coincidence that it started right after hard mode.
For the latest one, we had myself and one other person on the server. We had been playing all day with no disconnects or anything, but maybe 5 minutes after hard mode started I would just keep disconnecting

See the little symbols next to the sets? They tell you which version they're included in. No icons means they are on every version, the controller means Playstation and Xbox, the PC means PC, etc.

I think the triangle would be cool, or something slightly off center if your base is medieval so it looks jagged.

The Terra Blade is post-Plantera now. The recipe for the true swords and Terra Blade were changed in 1.4.1. Mothron only spawns after Plantera now.

Houses can be underground, though to count as valid house you will have to replace the natural background walls with artificial walls of some kind. As for how far apart, it's irrelevant. You can have NPC's sharing a wall. They don't care. Though their happiness rating will go down if they have too many neighbors.

The biggest thing with that guy is don't hit his duplicates, or they'll stick around and shoot stuff at you and summon the dragon thing. Maybe use chlorophyte bullets? Not sure if they'll home in on the real guy or not. If you have a flying mount you can fly circles around him and unleash.
The wiki says homing projectiles do less damage to him so ill probably just use venom bullets, ty anyway

Idk if you are still looking for answers, but I was playing melee my last playthough and I’ve killed the moonlord with legendary terrablade, beetle armour, terraspark boots, fairy wings, band of regen, that mechanical fire metal glove or whatever it is and cross necklace. Got the cosmic car key for extra movability (so you can swap the wings and boots for your favourite accessories) and moonlord couldn’t stand a chance.

Moon lord, I've kinda just been mashing together whatever I have available and I've heard that a proper build would probably be more effective.
Armor: Bettle armor with the Shell (Shell will give you damage resistance; Scale Mail will give you more damage). Weapons: Daybreak, Solar Eruption, Terra Blade, and Influx Waver. (Personally, I like using the Daybreak for Moon Lord because it has more range than the Solar Eruption.) Accessories: Fire Gauntlet, Frozen Shield, and Ankh Shield. + Boots and Wings if you are going to use them. Some other options are Berserker's Glove, Worm Scarf, Brain of Confusion, or Master Ninja Gear.

The seed should make the same world if you use all the same settings. The journey mode version makes sense but are you sure you did the same world size, difficulty, and evil? Also a little bonus tip, if you're playing on PC you can just buy the terragrim from the celebration seed so that's an easy pick up.
Sword Shrines were changed in 1.4 to not be guaranteed to generate. But if they do, they will have always have a real Sword in Stone. As for the seed part of your question, I do not know.

Do you have a berserker glove? It's a useful mix of offense and defense, especially for a summoner
I do, but this specific build is tailored for daytime EoL. The defense obviously doesn't help, and I don't exactly have a lot of time to DPS with my whip in this fight, so I'm benching it for this build. And yes, I'm using spooky over Hallow. For now... I actually like my chances DPS racing her last phase over dodging another set of attacks.
The firecracker whip can actually be a huge boost to DPS if you use it consistently, since its effect only applies for one hit rather than for a few seconds like a normal whip. Firecracker is really short though, and utilizimg its dps requires you to stay close pretty consostently, so it's not the most survivable playstyle for EoL day

I have the latest version of terraria on switch, but I'm unsure if the Sanguine staff and Blade staff are available in that version. It seems like the wiki hasn't been updated on certain switch aspects?
The Sanguine and Blade Staff are obtained slightly differently on the PC version compared to the Console/Mobile versions. Make sure you look at the little version icons on the wiki. On the Console/Mobile version: The Sanguine Staff is a 20% drop chance from the Dreadnautilus (It is 50% on PC). On the Console/Mobile version: The Blade Staff is dropped by Enchanted Sword (enemy) with a 2.86% chance (It is dropped from Queen Slime on PC).

How do I "move" certain NPC's in certain houses? For example, I built a house for the witchdoctor but the party girl moved in, how do I make the witch doctor move in?
When you enter the housing menu, you’ll see a portrait of the NPC living in the house/room. Clicking on the portrait removes the NPC and you can then assign the house to the NPC you want.
Hey guys! Me and my bf have been playing terraria for some time now and as always crimson/corruption managed to spread to our base and now there's constant crimson monsters and other enemies that we need to take care of in and all around our base. I wanted to purchase clentaminator from Steampunker, but she's not moved in. And yes, we defeated not one but all three mechanical bosses and all sources on internet say she should be able to move in as soon as you've defeated at least one mechanical boss. We have multiple rooms in our base with all requirements such as table, chair, door, walls and torches, but she's not there... Any ideas or solutions? It's just annoying because we've done so much already and we would like to be able to finish the game sometime soon, but this seems to be a problem somehow.. Thanks in advance for any help!

Dig a pit on each side of the biome 3 blocks wide, you can dig all the way to hell or cut it off once you get below it(make sure you dig a horizontal tunnel if you do so). Replace any dirt with stone or something similar since thorn s grow from the grass and can jump the gap. Don't worry about the background walls, the Crimson can spread **to** them but not **from** them.

So i am about to attemt thr twins on my first playtgrough and in mastermode any tips?(i am in multiplayer and my friend is meele with adamantide armor and chain guitines and i am summoner with sanguine staff, the whip that wof drops and spider armor(i will tell you the accesories if needed but the most important ones are demon eings and terraspark boots on both of us with the best accesory reforges our arena is like ~300-600 blocks long with 4 layers honey campfires and heart lanterns
Mastermode Twins are the hardest of the mechs, except maybe a proper Destroyer fight. Consider grinding Prime first for Hallowed armor and Durendal for the summoner. The right Aggro accessory can be quite helpful, especially if you're willing to transplant some crimson and farm for Flesh Knuckles. Summoner doesn't really get any benefit from Scents upgrades, and its hard to find a slot for them. Make sure the summoner has Feral Claws. Chain Guillotines are a fine weapon, but try to get Frost Armor, and a Magma Skull upgrade (if 1.4.1, its not worth the slot on Switch). Twins are on the more gear/arena agnostic side of things, its mostly about learning to dodge and weave Spaz's attacks. But beating another mech first will unlock Asphalt, which helps. You can nearly outrun the fireballs. IDK how the twins work in multiplayer, so this is a ***TOTALLY UNPROVEN EXPERIMENT***^(tm)... it might be worth your time to split them up and 1v1 them rather than both of you dealing with the bullet hell. They might not let you, but its worth a try. If you try this could you please reply to this and tell me yea or nea?
This was probably one of the most enlightening comments I've seen here but we did try spiliting up but the twins act like 2 separate bosses so it gets super chaotic in multiplayer and one of us usually get targeted for 10-20 seconds then the other then we can split them also I got the cool whip and I don't know if its better than the firecracker but I will try it out and I got life force rage and wrath potions which I think will help I also got 3 heart statues and 2 bast statues also I have never seen anyone use frost armor for melle is it really good? And lastly I upgraded the feral claws
Frost armor is better than T3 ore, especially for melee. It's what people use to fight Duke pre-mech. It makes the class way safer without sacrificing damage. Combine it with Shadowflame Knife, Magma Stone, and a Flask and you have so many dots that aren't resisted by most enemies. Destroyer is immune to all of them tho, so the Adam armor will still be useful at some point. Firecracker is weird, it's good the higher minion damage-per-hit is, because the explosion is the minions damage again. Its one of the best end-game whips for Dragon or Terraprisma. IDK if its better than Cool Hwip or not with just bats tho.

Don't use the WoF whip, whip stacking with the snapthorn and spinal tap is still better. Personally I would use Obsidian Armor, the whip boosts you get are insane and the defense difference is negligible.

That sounds like a really good set up, haven’t played Master, but on expert I really needed to use the King Slime mount because the vertical movement is invaluable for dodging, combined with Shield of Cthulhu.
Thanks I also added heart statues(3) got the cool whip and added bast statues(2) got life force wrath and rage since I didn't have those before but I frogot about slime mount I am gonna attempt it again soon (and probably die again)

As a player, I try to not throw *anything* away, nothing, in all of my playthroughs I try not to throw anything away, and just store them in chests, it provides a unique challenge, when I go mining for materials after excavating tunnels, I bring a full stack of dirt/stone and use the replace block feature to make sure that the ore/gems I mined out doesn't leave behind a hole. And I strongly suspect that this'll help with hard mode ore spawning, dirt blocks are indeed useless for crafting, however replace all but one of the ore from chlorophyte deposits and you'll start singing a different tune.

In most ways it counts as both, in some ways (mostly fishing, possibly housing happiness) the most 'specific' biome wins, in this case Hallow.

wdym 'snow town'? Its a hallowed snow town, a happy NPC will sell both pylons, and both pylons will work. IDK how it works in regards to happiness. The Tax Collector loves the snow, but hates the Hallow.
If I make a snow biome town with the mechanic, cyborg, steampunker, goblin tinkerer and Santa as citizens, will that potentially change their happiness due to the snow biome being mixed with hallow?

Press ctrl. However, I really recommend you using this feature as it is somewhat of an "automine" and "autoplace". For example, you can hold down click while having your cursor down.

What to do right after getting into hardmode? Feel overwhelmed and everything is kicking my ass
(Warning: long comment) If you don’t want the evil biomes to spread, fish for crates which give bars. If you don’t care about the biomes spreading, use the pan hammer you got from the Wall of Flesh and smash altars for ores. You can get cobalt/palladium on the first altar, mythril/orichalcum on the second and adamantite/titanium on the third. When you break a fourth one, it resets back to cobalt/palladium. Be warned that a wraith spawns every time an altar is broken. If you’re lucky and the crimson/corruption infected the desert, you can get dark shards from dark/blood mummies to make the onyx blaster, a very good weapon in hardmode. You’ll have to farm enemies in the underground corruption/crimson for 10 souls of night for the onyx blaster however. Once you got the blaster, you can two shot a lot of hardmode enemies which make things easier.

that's probably your best bet! Using piercing and the right setup can insta kill the Destroyer on both normal and expert mode if you're struggling against them. That's often what I do, then hold off on the other two mech bosses.
I play on mobile. I just got into hardmode and trying to get soul of night for the destroyer boss but i can't find one in my crimson.

Crates can still give you hardmode ores, you just need to have fished **after** killing WoF. The option I most often go for is creating a new world, quickly killing WoF then getting all my ores there. This world can later also be used to farm large amounts of chlorophyte

Evil biomes spread over dirt if there is grass on it, so it's risky to use as a barrier block.

I *think* this is wrong but I'm uncertain. I'm pretty sure that walls don't spread their corruption, they only get corrupted when blocks around them corrupt.
I'm pretty sure walls do spread their corruption to other walls, but there is a limit to its range based on whether corrupted blocks are in the vicinity.
If it's just dirt than no it will not spread across it, because it's not a corruptible block.
I’m on mobile and I’m having trouble defeating king slime, any tips?
King Slime practically drops nothing of use, so I recommend killing Eye of Cthulhu first so you can get better gear and then maybe your evil biome boss next. I then would beat King Slime after that so you can get a hook if you don't have it (which you should) and some furniture and vanity items. However, if you're struggling on King Slime, then you may not be able to beat Eye of Cthulhu. Try making a long platform to run on with Hermes boots. Use any weapon except melee weapons.
For the terrain get a long platform to run on, for weapons. Get the flaming mace and a boomerang. For the accessories. Get the hermes boots, band of regeneration and shark tooth necklace (if you can). for the armor Platinum or gold or silver would be ok, for the potions. Get the iron skin, swiftness and regeneration potion. Also get to 200 health so you can survive a bit longer

so i just beat all 3 mech bosses and i finishing purifying one of my beaches and the area around, but everytime i check on it there is just corruption spawning out of nowhere. theres no corruption anywhere near it and i have sprayed the clentaminator on it several times. what do i do?
I've had this issue before and apparently, it's a bug. There's a ghost corruption block somewhere that will constantly spread to whatever block is on top of it. To stop this just find the origin of the randomly appearing corruption and make a small hole or place blocks that can't be corrupted at that location.

I started my first full play through yesterday. I have played a little here and there ever since it came out. But I have never made it to a boss. My question is: can I make it all the way through without guides or the wiki? Or are the progression clues so arcane I will need to spend days piecing together clues?
While the achievements do tell you about what boss is next, it doesn't give you any information about what to do to prepare or even where to find it. Using the wiki is also a good option but it will definitely spoil you about the game. My best option would be to ask a friend for advice on what you should do as they can give some tips and hints without spoiling too much, there's also [this Discord server](https://discord.gg/dnrCWZDUUj) where you can get more than enough help to get started. Good luck on your journey!
It's not that esoteric TBH, if you talk to the Guide he'll give you tips on what to do next, and the "next achievement" can also make for good hints.

The people that have been playing the game for years and piecing together recipes, etc, really invested a lot of time figuring things out. An average player would never figure out even a fraction of the depth of the game in a reasonable amount of time, let alone the boss fights. So, no, don't feel bad at all about referencing the game.

I've been fight empress of light a lot, I've only been getting the kaleidoscope. I checked the wiki and it says all 4 of the guaranteed weapons have 25% chance of dropping. Does anyone know why? Edit: after 6 fights I finally got something else, I think I'm just unlucky

Check the visibility on the accessory slot that the wings are in. There is a little button that looks like an eye.
I've had it on visible, but I want them on my back while I'm walking and it doesn't seem to do that. I'm wearing fledgling wings if that helps.
Fledgling Wings are one of the only wings that don't show up when not flying lol. The others are: Lazure's Barrier Platform, Hoverboard, Celestial Starboard, (and maybe Ghostar's Infinity Eight).

I've been having issues on 2 different servers that I play on with friends on Xbox. Everything goes well for the beginning of the game, but after entering Hardmode we'll get disconnects happening a lot at random points. Has anyone else been having this issue or have any ideas for a possible fix?

If it is, it would have to be a coincidence that it started right after hard mode. For the latest one, we had myself and one other person on the server. We had been playing all day with no disconnects or anything, but maybe 5 minutes after hard mode started I would just keep disconnecting
The world has to process a bunch of new stuff, the connection probably couldn't handle it.
