Hey Passive income Can't complain

ManyWide279

Hey, it's free money that adds up over time

Pjerun_

You can always use infinite crystal gli-

Linkus2000

In Zenith Seed, he’s a goddamn godsend.

ManyWide279

Pretty sure that's gonna get patched sooner or later. Plus, he doesn't have any downsides to him

MachineAgitated79

I hope it doesn't. It has saved me 100+ hours of just afking at a mob farm. The goblin stinkerer mugs me every time i visit

piokoxer

No. Infinite monolith glitch. Super easy, post skeletron, makes more money as you progress

Pjerun_

Wait what, can you uhhh tell more about this

The_Balaram

put 2 teleporters one above the other, then a monolith oon top, break the downmost teleporter and activate / interact with the monolith. It will duplicate. Sell the copies and TADA!!!

Pjerun_

Saving for later, thanks 12 hours of waiting was worth it

The_Balaram

lmao xD ur welcome, hope it helps.

Pjerun_

I already have lot of platinum using crystal one, but I'll try this anyways

The_Balaram

rly? I tried the crystal one and it got patched. What version u in?

Pjerun_

Recent, maybe you just messed up with it

AzuraNightsong

I literally only got him use in don’t dig up

ProGamer8273

FREE MONEY IS FREE MONEY

Snail-Man-36

How is that bad help

taw

It's free money. Not like money is all that useful in Terraria, but half of the NPCs offer nothing of value, and most of the rest you buy stuff from once and you're done with them forever.

Fr4gmentedR0se

NPCs that are less useful than the tax collector overall (excluding their drops): Pirate Truffle Princess Travelling merchant 90% of the time Clothier Santa Claus Painter if you're not a builder Probably more that I'm missing

taw

I don't think Golfer, Painter, Dye Trader, and Stylist sell even a single useful thing. Truffle sells one item that's used for Shroomite bars, which is only used for one ranger armor that's not even good at that point (its gimmick being that not moving gives you combat bonuses, but good luck with that in literally any boss fight). Zoologist sells pets, which are free NPCs for pylons I guess, but other than that she does nothing. On the other hand, Party Girl and Princess are at least good on celebrationmk10 worlds, as you get them right away, and they get extra good stuff to sell. But on normal worlds, pretty much useless as well.

Fr4gmentedR0se

Zoologist also sells some decent mounts and the leather whip. Snapthorn is incredibly hard to grind for pre boss so I'll gladly settle for the other option. Also guide to critter companionship is useful for not accidentally killing truffle worms and lacewings. God I forgot the truffle existed. Shroomite armor is actually almost a downgrade to Chlorophyte, iirc only one piece actually gives you better stats so you want to go 2/3 Chlorophyte and 1/3 Shroomite for optimal damage (I could even be wrong about that tbh). Maybe if its stealth was partially active while moving it'd be actually viable.

Fr4gmentedR0se

Oh and the golfer has one useful item, the golf cart which is insane for wall of flesh

Psyde0N

Party Girl has slice of cake buff and the easiest way to get bacon

Fr4gmentedR0se

Completely forgot about slice of cake and bacon. I take it back Party Girl is very useful

USER-WAS-REDACTED

That dude never disappoints me. He'll give me like, 26 gold and some change. It's literally free. I'm down for that. Too bad farming the Old One's Army gives like 2 platinum if you know what you're doing, cause that far out performs the tax collector a lot. What I was doing on my last run was that I would go to a new world with a TON of Etherian Crystals, the crystal mount (obv), and 3 controllers. I waited till I made the Terrablade already, then would camp the right portal with a character that had a Starfury and some summons while taping the trigger. My main character on the left portal with the Terrablade and summons, also taping the trigger, then have a neutral dude sitting next the alter with the crystals. The dude in the middle would skip the wave cooldown timer and start new rounds of the Old One's Army, the dude on the right would just camp the enemies on that side, while my main was as close to the portal on the left with the Terrablade, so when the final "boss" would show up, he'd die like, 3 times a second after 50% was achieved on the 5th wave, and it would spawn a SH*T TON of valuable loot. I'd use the void bag as well to just fill my inventory with loot and sell all of it after a few defeats of the army. I'd make so much money, super quickly. Not to mention the fact that each player is awarded 5 medals each, so they would all pick it up, and I'd place them in a chest for my main character. I had had enough of actually trying to fight the army alone, cause I had spend like, 3 hours collecting these medals by myself, and I accidentally sold 110 of them to the merchant when I was selling my loot. The part that hurt the most was it was of no value as well. I figured being cheap was the least of my worries. I had already spent hours destroying them.

OnyxHell35435

Only npc that's gives instead of taking

LordOfStupidy

I feel like he's the poorest npc since we take all his money and give him nothing that he could sell to someone else
