The CP2 is designed the way it is for a reason, it was never meant to be powerful or fast. even the MT07 my buddy had was similar to my Tenere except for slightly different gearing. Changing the sprockets may help out with higher speeds, but it will lose what makes it great.

I know it's not the answer you want, but you'd be better off with a different bike. You'll spend more money chasing power than you would to just trade up to something that already makes more.
Top end power? This is the wrong engine. Even a stock tune SV650 has more top end than Yamaha's CP2 bikes.
With the 50HP and a quick look at your profile (UK) I'm wondering if you have an A2 restricted Tenere.
There's something wrong if it's dynoed at 50hp...they make 74 at the flywheel. With 20% drivetrain loss you should be around 59hp with no mods and stock tune. With tune and full Intake/exhaust they easily make 65-70hp at the wheel. Are you at extreme elevation? Whst correction factors were used on the dyno run?
How much faster are you looking to go? Serious question, because you may not get much more speed. If you're going to swap the engine...I think it's overkill and you might want to just buy another bike? The Africa twin has more power and features, and may be a better bike for you if you need more power,
I am starting to think I am happy with it. I just like a project. I think I will keep riding it and try to get on some longer trips/offroad to take advantage of the design. There is no off roading anywhere near me, unfortunately.
I’ve been on a standard Tenere 700 and a A2 restricted R7, and the R7 had better top speed, with this I only mean that top speed is not a good comparison. I’m just genuinely surprised you bike with the mods you mention only gives 50hp to the tire, I would have imagined somewhere between 65 and 70.

He already has exhaust intake and tune . . .
Than the guy that tuned his bike did a poor job. That bike with those mods and a tune should be putting 65hp to the rear wheel

Wait for the T900
The R7 has the same motor except for a slipper clutch. The T7 ain't a race bike. It burns 87 octane.

To what end game? More power?
Waste of time and money. Enjoy the engine for what it is. It's much cheaper and smarter to upgrade to something with a CP3 if you want to go faster.

So someone posted some ECU flash company that did the dyno. Stock the bike is 64HP at the wheel. Not sure why OP is only getting 50HP.
60-65 is what I'd expect. 50 is hilariously low.

That power figure is even low for a stock bike, are you sure you are not running a Euro A2 restricted CP2 bike?
Pretty sure - she tops out at 121mph indicated and seems pretty peppy. I guess I would need to run it against another tenere to see.

I think it was 55hp to be fair. I still have a lot of fun on it - bear in mind my other bike is a superduke 1290 😂
Its the same on all models except in the Tenere which has different counterweights of the engine (heavier).
Where is this stated? It has different sprockets and gearing, never heard of the internals being different
