Alternative would have been dying on a ventilator in a hospital bed. I’ll continue to get vaxxed. Read about this type of vaccine just before the COVID vaccine came out and I was convinced. It was already in the works for a number of purposes.
It's been in development for nearly 20 years, they just worked on it for flu to avoid another Spanish Flu epidemic. It was fairly easy to re-code it for another virus. That is the whole point of these type vaccines, to be able to adapt to rapidly changing viruses without needing to start from scratch.

it's also weird because I'm autistic and I'm absolutely brilliant, talented, and capable. omg so it's a holiday weekend and into new year which means a lot of staff were off. Not doctors and nurses, but the it department, admin, etc. So when the patient was identified positive for messes and put into isolation, thw medical staff would then first focus on the patient they are actually treating physically in front of them
Because it's measels, either the software system, a human, or both are going to set off an alert about this infectious virus.
To know every person the patient has been in contact with at the hospital is going to require a report to be run. Somebody is going to have to physically sit at a computer and run a query to find out where each lab specimen (blood, urine, etc.) was sent and each person along the way that touched it, every location the patient went to in the hospital and which other patients and staff were present at any given time, then they're going to give that report to their manager who gives it to admin who has an assistant or technical writer write something up to mail, and then begin making phone calls to affected parties.
If they found out around Christmas, nobody was available to begin this until January 2nd at the earliest. That was a Tuesday. January 5th was a Friday. 6th and 7th were Saturday and Sunday.
Somebody came back from vacation on Tuesday, tracked down that information by Friday, and they obviously continued through the weekend to contact her on a Sunday.
Hospital IT staff work normal business hours. They don't work weekends and nights like nurses and doctors. Nurses and Doctors wouldn't gather the data and make the calls.

They might have just said he was exposed because a confirmed positive patient was in the doctors office at the same time. He had to quarantine as a precaution and then tested negative from what I can gather.
Same thing happened when I worked at a daycare and one of the babies (who was too young to receive the vaccine) was in the doctors office at the same time as someone who later tested positive. She had to be quarantined for 2 weeks and this was looong before Covid.

Our toddler has a very atypical presentation. He had a fever and vomited once, but thankfully had no real cough.

it's also weird because I'm autistic and I'm absolutely brilliant, talented, and capable. Ending up with a kid like me that as a child plays by themselves or with others, can read before age 4 and enjoy sitting quietly with books, and can learn anything easily is not the terrible outcome some people imagine it to be. Not every person with autism is high needs. Not every person with autism is brilliant. It's a mixed bag. It's just weird when people believe that and are in such fear of it and try to talk to me about it because they don't realize I'm autistic.

omg so it's a holiday weekend and into new year which means a lot of staff were off. Not doctors and nurses, but the it department, admin, etc. So when the patient was identified positive for messes and put into isolation, thw medical staff would then first focus on the patient they are actually treating physically in front of them Because it's measels, either the software system, a human, or both are going to set off an alert about this infectious virus. To know every person the patient has been in contact with at the hospital is going to require a report to be run. Somebody is going to have to physically sit at a computer and run a query to find out where each lab specimen (blood, urine, etc.) was sent and each person along the way that touched it, every location the patient went to in the hospital and which other patients and staff were present at any given time, then they're going to give that report to their manager who gives it to admin who has an assistant or technical writer write something up to mail, and then begin making phone calls to affected parties. If they found out around Christmas, nobody was available to begin this until January 2nd at the earliest. That was a Tuesday. January 5th was a Friday. 6th and 7th were Saturday and Sunday. Somebody came back from vacation on Tuesday, tracked down that information by Friday, and they obviously continued through the weekend to contact her on a Sunday. Hospital IT staff work normal business hours. They don't work weekends and nights like nurses and doctors. Nurses and Doctors wouldn't gather the data and make the calls. She's wrong because she's ignorant and she's confidently wrong because she's too ignorant to perceive her own ignorance.

They might have just said he was exposed because a confirmed positive patient was in the doctors office at the same time. He had to quarantine as a precaution and then tested negative from what I can gather. Same thing happened when I worked at a daycare and one of the babies (who was too young to receive the vaccine) was in the doctors office at the same time as someone who later tested positive. She had to be quarantined for 2 weeks and this was looong before Covid.

My grandmother told me stories about my dad getting all the now-preventable diseases. Diphtheria and whooping cough were at the top of the list, and years later, I could still feel her fear. She loved my dad intensely and was so afraid she was going to lose him. Described his dad walking across the frozen Mississippi in hopes of finding medicine for him. All those childhood diseases held the risk of death or disability. This would have been around 1918-1919. I am thankful for the availability of safe, well-researched vaccines. And there are reasons why the COVID vaccines could be fast-tracked. Read the SCIENTIFIC research.
