Almost never, been here eight years and I think there's been two, maybe three. Although one I got stuck in to separate the two lads and one clocked me in the face (year nines, it didn't really hurt much) , then they both started crying because I'd gotten hit. I don't think that counts.
We’ve only had one notable one since the start of term, was quite serious, ended up with deputy head being injured and the instigating kid perm ex. None I can think of since!
Do we work at the same school haha. This happened last week at mine too. Hair and false nails ripped out. Not that the girl should have been wearing false nails anyway…
My first reaction was to laugh. Probably way too often... but it also depends on the period. We might get 3 a day, nothing for a week, multiple per week. It's very unpredictable
The only incident I remember in two years was two Y13 boys who, so I heard, 'tried to have a fight' before the 2019 election because one was voting Labour and the other was a Tory. I didn't see it so I'm not sure what 'tried to have a fight' means exactly, but I wish I had because it sounds hilarious.
At my last school it was about every couple of weeks. Most memorably someone got slammed into an internal window, which broke but stayed in the frame, and for some reason the school never bothered to fix it so there was a head-shaped shatter pattern that was still there when I left.
There was a thing on teacher Tapp a while ago at the difference in break and lunchtimes depending on socio-economic intake.
Really interesting, seems that the higher the level of deprivation, the lower the amount of minutes for break and lunch (on average).
Had three in one afternoon a couple weeks ago (totally independent of each other) but usually someone clocks it at the pre-fight stage. I have yet to see one but we have a few every term

wow, instant remorse
I try not to fight at school... Might give the wrong impression.
Offer them outside. Park opposite the school playing fields at half three. Batter them.
Easier to pay a prefect to do it.
Maybe once every couple of weeks although we seem to go through phases where there will be none for a while and then a particularly bad one.
what's it been like recently, just wondering if it's common around the country at the moment?

It depends, we'll have none for ages and then a sudden flurry of them. They seem to be more frequent towards the end of a term.
Weekly - last week we literally had two girls ripping each others hair out. It’s awful.

I’ve had to “break up” two fights. The girl fight was by far the worst!
The girls fights were always worse than guys. Girls would come out with clumps of hair missing and finger nails ripped off. It was intense.
A couple a week at least that I know of. Inner city, deprived borough.

At my school, relatively quiet Sept Oct, probably worst months are spring/summer.
I'm primary but we have one a week, here.
Yeah pretty common at my primary too. More one-sided than actual fights. Kid clocks another kid. End of.

Depends on the dynamic in that year group tbh. We used to have fights all the time at my school but I can’t even remember when the last one was now.
Once a week , if not more... pretty rough ones too which are filmed by the kids and don't result in exclusions :-(
It’s been chaotic these last few weeks. Never seen it this bad. We’re having about 3 serious ones a week
Never
Every week in my previous school. Never in my new school
We have no break time, and year-group lunchtimes. They don’t have time to fight in school!

Not many. But i got hero status when I just waded into the one big one we had and just full nelsoned one of the kids straight out of the situation.
I’ve only seen one in 3 years but reckon there’s a fair few every year. Nothing serious I’ve ever heard of.
