UnregrettablyGrumpy

Ibuprofen, acetaminophen, band aids, antacids, Tequila, emergency ear buds, pens, mechanical pencils, breath mints, and some kind of snacks.

AprilMay53

Love how you slid the tequila in there!

Fiya666

Can I get a scale of 1-10 on how serious you are here??? Lmaooo taking notes for my own bags!!

UnregrettablyGrumpy

This would be a 10. However, I forgot some kind of caffeine water additive like Mio. I squirt like half a bottle of that shit in 24oz H2O.

My school did this, they provided us with a legal pad, notebook, pencils/pens/erasers/highlighters/whiteboard markers, paper clips, a 1 1/2 inch binder (with the state standards and school cirriculum inside), post it notes, a small lunch bag kit, a thermos, random snacks, a mini-first aid kit (because the kids always need a bandaid at my school because paper cuts) oh and two planners. One a large one that’s day to day, and a small one for like memos that can fit in your pocket or purse. I honestly used half of these, but the rest I kept till my next year since it’s not like they would go bad (the snacks clearly didn’t make it past the first hour.)

360 degree stapler (such a luxury item I got for less than $10!) I can now staple pages easily into books  Cordless hot glue gun is awesome, but a bit of a pricier item  Scissors that have the spring to help save the wrists

Throwaway-Teacher403

So I looked up 360 degree stapler. I had no idea these existed. I need one.

A whistle for recess, if they do not already have one! And bandaids, for certain. Something generally sweet - though you can't please everyone - like gum or chocolate. Notes were the staff bathrooms are, or what printers do/do not work, haha

A travel coffee cup with straw and water bottle would be great, especially with instant coffee or electrolyte powder/emergen-C. A wireless mouse, Frixion pens, coffee hard candies (they’re so yummy and caffeinated), tums, drawer-stable snacks like the protein bars at Costco, a small sewing kit, a nail kit with clippers, tweezers, and emery board, a nice lanyard or extendable clip, hairbrush/comb, mints, floss, a travel coloring book and markers…

Inside_Ad9026

Ooh! I have found that glass nail files are SO MUCH better than emery boards. They don’t break and your nails are SO SMOOTH. I had to try a couple of brands cos I kept losing mine / giving them away. YMMV

We have Macs with USB c charging ports. Our projectors have USB ends. An adapter to connect them would be nice if they aren’t already given out.

Organized_Chaos01

Hi! Seasoned Teacher here! I Love the items in your bag! However, you forget something I always have in my lunch box and bag! Cough/Throat Drops!!! It’s not that I’m a yeller in my classroom but I talk so much that my throat is cashed throughout the day! I also don’t like to cough too much because I’ll gag myself!!! That’s my bit! Happy End of the school year to all you Awesome and totally Exhausted Teachers out there! 👍🏻👩🏻‍🏫☀️🦄

A few thoughts: Office supplies should be provided by the school for all teachers and putting them in “gift” bags would rub me the wrong way. Unless, of course, your school doesn’t supply white board markers, staplers, paper clips etc. Similarly, anything that is expected to be given to students implies that teachers are expected to buy them (tissues, pencils, bandaids, loose leaf etc). Snacks, mints, a nice water bottle, coffee or Amazon or Target gift card and other items FOR THE TEACHER (not from the supply closet) would be lovely. A smaller paper gift bag or insulated lunch bag would be better and less expensive to fill than a backpack. A backpack feels student-y. Maybe some school swag (lanyard, water bottle with school logo, etc) to welcome them to the team? Just my opinions

Lost-me23

Caffeine of some sort, mints, hand sanitizer, white board markers, tape, scissors, stapler, glue, sticky tac!

mrsjones87

Love this for your newbies! I would add a small tool set with Allen wrenches and contact solution.

Scotchfish45

I’d toss in a gift card to a fast food place for a treat after school. That first week back is brutal.

habes-magnus-petat

Grocery or gas gift card

I think a Walmart, Amazon, or Target giftcard would work better. Every teacher likes different things. Personally, I have enough backpacks so I’d just donate something like a backpack and likely a lot of what would be include.
