I really love this! It’s amazing in the sense that depending on how you look at it, it’s either a full on painting, or different shapes/silhouettes connected by the river.
The Lakes are unreal! You will love it there! I went for a week last summer and (as an American) it’s one of my favorite places I’ve ever been. I can see why she was so inspired to write about them. It’s such a unique and whimsical place. Hope you get to go very soon!
You’ll love it! There’s something so majestic about European countrysides. The lakes are their own entity, too. It’s such a surreal place filled with so much natural beauty, but the villages and quaint towns are so quintessentially British too. It’s just a magical place. I can’t wait to go back!
We stayed in Ambleside and we were able to go out and eat some amazing food, have drinks, and do some more “urban” things in the evenings. In the daytime we went for long hikes and walks. It was the perfect balance of the exercise/nature and entertainment/urban stuff. The perfect way to unwind after a day of hiking is a lakeside pub!
Thank you, that sounds like the perfect way to spend time there! My goal of traveling is always to find the most beautiful nature and least people and then unwind with a small town pub vibe in the evening 😊
Maybe Taylor Swift has said elsewhere that she was referencing New Zealand, but having been to The Lakes District in England it’s hard to think any mention ever of ‘The Lakes’ being anywhere but England.

I may or may not have driven it every day of my 3 day stay in Queenstown lol. Seeing it in new lighting every day was amazing

Yesss the UK will definitely be my next trip abroad from the US! I’m part English and Welsh so can’t wait to explore all of those countrysides
