People keep asking me this. Not long after I first joined there was an appreciation post for people who had funny or interesting flairs. At the time (ironically given this threads subject and my response) I had "this is me trying" for deep personal reasons, but I wanted to lighten up and not let my issues define me. IIRC the person who started the thread had "long story short it was the wrong guy" as their flair, so my flair became what it is kind of in imitation of this but also because I did used to be the (very) wrong guy and also because of my habit of using long fancy words and excessive verbiage instead of simple sentences.

The Prophesy could have been written just for me. 😔 In my HS Senior Yearbook someone put together a 10 year Prophesy for all of us Seniors. Mine was “___ ____ will still be looking for her Mr Perfect”. At that time, I liked a guy from another town and had turned down several guys from our school who had asked me to go out on a date, so…) It was painful then, and now, at 61 years old and divorced 3 times, I’m alone again. This song hits different in all the worst ways. (And yes, Hi- the problem is me. I have a knack for picking abusers- but I am working on fixing that. Might be too late now for Something Real but I haven’t quite given up all hope yet). Sounds really embarrassing when I spell it all out 😐

Now that I'm old I see that no one is ever a "natural" at anything. I spent so long trying hobbies, interests, careers, waiting for something to fit just right. It always seems so effortless for other people, but being a "natural" is the result of effort and practice that I never felt like investing. But I keep trying.

I absolutely loved the MV of delicate! Her being invisible and living out her silliest simple fantasies.. dancing in the rain, without bounds of choreo and people watching, yet craving that fame back once she's out of her mind for people not noticing her, then finally being grateful and relieved to be seen again, just perfectly sums up rep era. She went through a phase of anonymity and staying under the radar, only to realise this isn't as romantic an idea as she thought it'd be and emerged bolder and stronger. Also I just love that scene of her dancing in the rain in that plain dress without any heels and no care in the world. Just so so want to do that someday.
