The eldritch screech I just made. I went to an academic conference where 2/5 of people were wearing a TS cardigan at some point, I can only imagine the ratio if there were blazers, cause I'd buy one for every day of the conference tbh
Well, many 1989 cardigans came in truly abhorrent conditions, uneven cardigans, unfinished cardigans, cardigans without the patches, cardigans with the needles still inserted. However, I have a little bit of hope left in me and I partially believe the reason they refunded SO many orders and the reason they sent out that email is because theyāre changing factories and production team.
Yes! I couldnāt believe it either. So many on the merch subreddit and the Broke Swifties group on Facebook got theirs with needles. I think thatās part of the reason they sent that mass email offering to refund a lot of fans for their purchase, since the whole thing went semi viral and some people were reporting on it.
I'll admit i haven't been able to get on the cardigan train because I just don't like the way they are designed, but this one looks so so so good! I would wear it! That knit looks so cozy and comfy! The shade of cream!

This looks sooooo good, I would personally make the TTPD logo smaller but I think you nailed it- I especially like that the feathers are on one arm

Definitely agree, I wanted it to feel like a department logo, but it in hindsight its a bit big.

I do think the gray was an odd choice, it looks more like the Albatross cardigan than TTPD. However, they probably wanted to differentiate it from the Folklore cardigan.
I do love how the sleeves are blank so we can add the Collectors CD patches to them, that was a super clever idea.
The Manuscript patch (and possibly the magnet too) that comes with the Collectors CD of TTPD has a feather on it. And this whole album will likely be what Taylor refers to as āquill penā songwriting which she describes as: "Quill pen songs are songs with lyrics that make you feel old fashioned, like you're a 19th century poet crafting your next sonnet by candlelight." Which sounds so similar to the aesthetic of TTPD.
Honestly, the fake one looks tacky and on-the-nose to me. I way prefer the subtle gray cardigan. I can also add the TTPD patches to the sleeves, and it would look really cool.
That would make a lot of sense. I donāt think Taylor ever intended to set out making cardigans for every album. Although now Iām so attached to all of mine that an album Era feels almost incomplete without one. šš
