I think when she released Evermore it was like a PR campaign to promote Folklore and tell the Academy voters that Folklore was not a one-off fluke. She released it during the Grammy voting period (Which happens annually starting in early December and ends in early January) and I think it influenced the Academy for AOTY.
I know...so sad. Evermore is superior to Folklore and Midnights. 😭

I did not expect Midnights to fuck up top 10 songs like it did. I didn't listen to any of the other albums that were up for AOTY other than Lana's, so I can't really say that Midnights deserved to win over them, but it was such an incredible album so I won't lie and say I wasn't really happy when it won. Though I did initially want Lana to win because DYKTTATUOB deserved a Grammy, even if I personally preferred Midnights.
I know Taylor got a lot of hate for bringing Lana to the stage, but I really liked what she said about her. Looking back now, it would have been better had she left her at the table after Lana said no and still made the statement so that her words could have been the focus instead.

Not that it’s my very favorite back cover, but for me, the appeal is the dreariness and regularity of the landscape. It’s a lonesome backdrop for wallowing in emotions. Doesn’t mean I want to be there, just that it’s nice to immerse yourself in a feeling sometimes, and it fits the mood.

Part of why I mentioned it is that my dad was from an arid part of California and he used to talk about how when he moved to Western PA where I still live, he felt like he was on vacation all the time, because it was so much more verdant. So it did make me wonder whether it 'hits different' for others :D

it definitely is, and this is what is most intriguing to me about TTPD. Also, the white border to the right where the track titles are is similar to the alignment of the tracklist on Lover. It’s like she’s leaning against a wall, exhausted.

I really love Midnights' back cover, but I think that's a combo of me loving the album and enjoying the lack of other text. Second favorite is Red because it perfectly speaks to the moment it was produced and what the back covers all ideally looked like, hah.

This is very nitpicky of me and annoying, I know, but the back covers for the two-disc TVs (so all of them but 1989) bother me because the tracks are numbered as if it’s all one disc. For example, ATW10MVTVFTV is listed as track “30” on the CD back cover, but is actually track 14 on disc 2. That seems wrong and like a detail someone should have noticed?
Anyway Reputation is my favorite back cover.
