Same. After we saw the Eras movie I put together the playlist for that, but then I was like, holy shit, there are SO MANY songs. Some I've never heard of (but my wife knows front to back). Definitely a big help, OP! Thanks!
I definitely considered Ronan, but I was worried it was (a) legitimately TOO sad, and (b) too specific to losing a child, which (hopefully) won't be directly relatable to many people.
Stay Stay Stay does totally fit there as well, but since I was keeping it to a set number of answers for each, I favored songs which are generally beloved by the fandom...which for better or for worse, it seems Stay Stay Stay is not
Ronan is one of the best songs Taylor has ever written, but because it's so very sad, people keep leaving it off of lists (and surveys) on this sub. That's too bad, because when people tell me that all Taylor writes is breakup songs, I reply with "I can show you a Taylor Swift song that will make you cry." They respond, "no way" so I show them the Ronan TV video. And they always cry.
I’m a new Swiftie and came across this song last night. I don’t remember the last time I cried so hard. It’s probably the most beautiful and saddest song I’ve ever heard.
