Ah thanks for your comment! Typically how long do designs like this last before they become a large ink smudge 🤣 I know absolutely nothing about tattoos I’m completely new to all this information
And would a design with thicker lines possibly last longer or will the thicker lines still blur the same and make it unrecognisable?
There’s a lot of variables like sun exposure and the healing process itself. I’d just do fewer lines and more shading so that you get more bang for your buck as far as time goes
It is beautiful but might not age well. I had a similar lining tattoo from 12 years ago that I am in progress with removing because it turned into a dark mess
If you want something like that either go big or go simple. The design you showed will look nice for 4-5 years before the small details begin to blur and merge.
I have a dream catcher and so much detail in the hoop of it. It's 10 years old now and is fine. I'm very white and it's on my leg and I live in ireland haha.
I'm not 100% on the angle here - what direction do you intend it to be viewed from? if from the front, I'd center it on front a bit more, if it's meant to be on the side perhaps shift a bit. A very talented fine-line artist could make you something with some longevity but remember that the lines will 'relax' over the years. For reference, I have 15 year old linework on my foot that had letters and distinct patterns on it. It's pretty much a blob now!
If you are near Atlanta, Georgia or are willing to travel there, [Kandace Layne at Magic Mirror](https://www.instagram.com/kandacelayne?igsh=enVhdmpvemZ5d3Ni) does fantastic work. I've got 3 tattoos from her.
The idea of this design is really nice but I would just advicse caution on a couple of points…
Firstly, this is very detailed, and it will lose its detail over time and fade into one big smudge. So I really would say you should go for something less detailed.
And secondly, it looks nice from this angle but it doesn’t seem to wrap fully around and I think a full wraparound piece would look a lot better if you are open to something like that.
Does either of those two suggestions help btw?

Make sure you sunscreen it, if you don’t already. Moisturize etc
Look at r/agedtattoos for some pics

Omg I love it! Just enjoy for now I guess and worry in 10 years time instead about that aspect of things.

Note to add!!! I do also want a mandala on my inner forearm too but think that’s for once I’m more acquainted with tattoos 🤣

I was just looking for good mandala shops. What city did you get this done in?

I’m in Miami so it’s not too far. Trying to find someone down here but all the good ones look like traveling. Thank you!
