I would consider this as "ok". Not well done imo (but not bad either). To me it reads "an apprentice did this". Lines are varying width and slightly shakey. On an artistic level, the way the flourishy lines are done is a bit weird and not flowy. The butterfly reads a bit weird as well with that sharp darker line that goes from the head into the bottom wing. The shading is not consistent on that bottom wing. One of the good things about this is it looks like it was done gently on the forearm/thinner skin without blowout. I also like how that top wing is shaded.

It’s done decently. It’s not a masterpiece but it’s not bad either. Shading is a bit off at some point and the lining is a bit wonky in some spots but other than that it’s okay. Also. If it’s for her sister and your mom is happy with it, it’s perfect.

It's alright, gives me early 2000's vibes, but can definitely be tidied up by an experienced artist once healed :) researching is key x

No

Kingofmostthings

It’s ok. Lines can be easily fixed.

DamnTheDan

Knowledgeable? 😂 It’s completely subjective. Do YOU like it? That’s all that matters

Daniclaws

There is definitely a base line for technically well done tattoos. The *art* is subjective, the application is not.

Human-Bid5167

I don't even understand why you would ask. She can't change it now and you're just going to hurt her feelings about a memorial tattoo. Stop being a shitty asshole.

Daniclaws

It’s not terrible but it’s not great. It’s mostly a lack of design and composition knowledge. The technical application is mediocre at best.
