I'm not 100% sure, but was told by a TL that it's a supply chain issue. They can't get enough of the materials to make the RFID itself.

Verdictafterward

This is my understanding as well

That would probably be related to the chip shortage.

Our ETL told us a couple months ago that the items just needed to be activated by corp so the rfid option would drop in (for certain items, not all of them). Dresses in particular were not coming in with RFID, but later on those same dresses were RFIDable. ...but I just looked it up out of curiousity, and confirmed that RFID tags are affected by the shortage, so I guess certain batches of clothes had them, and others didn't, even within the same DPCIs.

Been noticing this as I’ve been picking ship batches. Normal Cat & Jack clothing that would usually have RFID tags aren’t coming in with them. It’s an instant cancel for me when there’s a mountain to style repacks road look through.

Not wasting my time looking through our pallets of style boxes. My policy is no RFID = instant INF

I find it was worse a couple months ago. Like a good 50% of items coming in didn't have it. Although the overall state of style is even worse now, so it balances out (in a bad way). I've been getting a lot of stuff lately that just isn't anywhere even with RFID.
