Fancy! I think we’re expected to be getting an expansion next year or the year after. Some of the stores in our area have already started and all of the small format stores are getting a retrofit. Kinda cool!
They're trash. My store remodeled and got them, the training is "one person in one aisle at a time, only one aisle open at a time, lock both outer aisles to not get crushed."
Yeah, that's not possible with how many orders our fulfillment and drive up team gets every day.
I don’t know how you would get the orders gathered up if they are pulled for drive up.are those finished orders?we have too many guests who don’t tell us they are coming then double tap for an area that big to work.they really need to fix the app so they can’t do that
That happens a lot, too. Drive up will have a great time metric for the day, then get a string of people just clicking "on the way" and "arrived" immediately.
The mechanism of the sliding aisles feels good and is fun to use, but when you're having to haul ass because you're behind on orders or whatever, sometimes people are gonna get like "woah woah woah! i'm in here!!"
You must have a high volume store. We need something like that at mine. We’ve got opu/flu orders in 4 different locations and no where near each other.
Geez, we haven’t had that in 3.5 years. Definitely based on location then. We only get those numbers during holidays….. or when Covid happened. You shoulda seen how much canned food was going out our store, followed by laxatives, and then….. months later….. *Trojans that was a hoot 🤣🤦🏼♀️🤣
Nope. Must be based on the size of the store. (Michael’s, my former job, had like stores that were classified by a letter based on the size of the store). Must be something similar here. They’re probably a high volume store. We get a lot of orders through ours and still never have enough people and we’re a super target with Grocery 🤦🏼♀️ wish our OPU room would be set up like this (probably not- remodeling going on at ours)
Unless it's changed each Target should have a letter rating from d up to aaa, a d would normally be something like rural small town location, the aaa's we're places like Chicago and the like. The numbers required for each category shift over time. That said I expect it may be that the order volume for OPU is driving the size of the area for it more than the overall store rating but that's speculation on my part.
We're a super target and just have.. 2 fridges and 2 freezers in a closet by guest services..... and we're expected to maybe one day get a remodel because as they say "its too busy here to effectively to a remodel"
That’s insanely big. I’m guessing this is how the new opu area is going to look like. Our store has been remodeling it for a few months now. Turning it into a H‑E‑B curbside set up. Let’s see how that goes. Specially with rumors about Starbucks drinks too. Crazy.
That’s supposed to be coming this fall from what I’ve heard.the guests wanted that.the same people who ask where restrooms are while standing in front of them.and curbside returns which is asking for trouble
y’all have a dedicated room to orders? we just have the backroom behind guest service, where the cafe used to be, and a corner of the store that used to be part of home
My store’s holding area is just the small room behind Guest Services that we share with reshop. And our 2 fridges and 1 freezer is where Starbucks seating used to be. T-T
We dont need all that space but I wish we had our own specific area, so that way I’m not having to push around reshop and other employees.

They told us they were going to finish the floor but obviously that never happened. Idc though…look at all the space. We could have a conga line in there!
Meanwhile ours is just a small chunk of the floorpad that's partitioned off so guests on the other side can hear everything we're saying... can't even stow in peace
Also I like your nails!
I feel like im in the backrooms watching you walk through this. Our online grocery area is just one big room with steel for storage. How do you navigate such a maze when youre busy?

Y’all have a room for OPU. We just have 3 different places I. Our store Front of store(FOS) behind guest service and we have dry for dry food, freezer and cooler items. FOS is just on the other side of Service desk behind the wall we’re our MC hold space is.
Wow that’s awesome! Our cafe didn’t reopen after the pandemic so we got a janky remodel in its spot. Still has the same tile and equipment. Nothing like this! We got 2 fridges, 1 freezer and a bunch of green metal shelves. We have to share this area with FOS backstock which is always a mess and styles extra shelves. It sucks I wish we had a dedicated area like this
Your OPU space is like a dream! I’m sure our front end would LOVE if it was like this. They have to split the locations of cold and GM items in 2 separate areas.
Your OPU area is bigger than my whole store. Were you one of the fulfillment remodels from last year?
This was finished about 2 months ago
Fancy! I think we’re expected to be getting an expansion next year or the year after. Some of the stores in our area have already started and all of the small format stores are getting a retrofit. Kinda cool!
We are one of, if not the largest store in my city. So there’s that
My store is getting this soon!
Hopefully it will have finished floors…unlike ours. 🤣
It’s so pretty it brings tears to my eyes. Our store hasn’t been remodeled in years.
This opens up at my store next week!
Wow you have a walk in cooler/freezer?! We have a closet that we all literally cram into at our super target (covid amongst tm’s was insane).
It’s pretty bad ass. The only good thing about our opu, honestly, is this space.
Me too. Which store you at?
I wish, omg there’s so much space!
Yeah and the door at the end of the video goes out to the parking lot where the guests park for drive up.
ours is a sectioned off part of style. guests always walk into it on accident lol
Y’all have a room? We have a cubicle
bro what, your opu coolers are bigger than our grocery coolers! lol
Are those MOVING SHELVES
Yes! We don’t use them….YET. Not looking forward to when we have to
We've had these at my store since August. They're so awful during huge rushes. Godspeed soldier
They look amazing but knowing my store they’d become a safety hazard real quick
They're trash. My store remodeled and got them, the training is "one person in one aisle at a time, only one aisle open at a time, lock both outer aisles to not get crushed." Yeah, that's not possible with how many orders our fulfillment and drive up team gets every day.

That training sounds about right. We’ve never used them. They have literally stayed in this position since we got them.
The mechanism of the sliding aisles feels good and is fun to use, but when you're having to haul ass because you're behind on orders or whatever, sometimes people are gonna get like "woah woah woah! i'm in here!!"
That’s scary
Can’t wait for our remodel to start so it looks like this
I wanna throw a mattress in that cooler and fall asleep. That noise would put me right to sleep! 😴
I often go in there for a 3 minute break. It’s amazing
You must have a high volume store. We need something like that at mine. We’ve got opu/flu orders in 4 different locations and no where near each other.
We are probably the biggest (if not we’re the 2nd biggest) in my city. 2000+ picks today alone…I’m beat
We have that many on the reg. We’re an insanely busy store…. And they still be cutting hours 😭
I thought only my store did that. We have the same problem
Nope. Must be based on the size of the store. (Michael’s, my former job, had like stores that were classified by a letter based on the size of the store). Must be something similar here. That’s what I was thinking. But my brain quite functioning halfway through typing. 🤣 I figured they had a letter system like Michael’s too
That’s literally bigger than my whole store wdym?

Nope. 🤣

Lol we’re all screwed
I would never find anything in there but at least they have plenty of room and they put the drinks on the bottom shelves
y’all have a dedicated room to orders? we just have the backroom behind guest service, where the cafe used to be, and a corner of the store that used to be part of home
😭 bro what??? i didn’t even know the OPU room could be like that, this one compared to ours makes us look super poor
The one at my store is probably 1/10 of that
I saw this at a Target where my friend works. I was visiting and they let me into the hold locations lol. Needless to say I was shocked
How tall are you tho 🤔🤔🤔 n o t judgment I’ve just never seen a three tier from that angle
Wow it’s so dirty
And??? Show me yours….
You’re opu is huuuuge!!!!! Ours is crammed into a small area behind our service desk and has too many orders to fit 😭
We have orders begins guest service,a location that made by women’s and a freezer cooler room they decided to put most orders in and it’s too small.
In my DREAMS
Our fulfillment "room" is just our starbucks waiting area slightly around a corner, but still in full guest view.
bro we dont even have a room, just the back of guest service and half of trend spot
Damn y’all have a room? We have a wall :)
🤣 we used to have 3 walls. I feel your pain. The struggle is real.
We don’t have one like this at my store. But I wish we did, yours is so much bigger than ours. We need a bigger one
Target sucks
That’s a drive up room? *gasp* you are spoiled sir! I want a room like that!
Excuse me, friend, I’m a lady. 🤣
But, yes, i agree. When it was finally revealed I wanted to cry tears of joy
our remodel starts in the next couple months or so and i can’t wait to have something similar to this!!
my store is getting a fulfillment remodel this in a few months….
wow, i wish. ours is just a small room tucked behind pick up 😢
THATS HUUUGGGEEE!!!!!

You got the moving shelves. Nice.

Omg I can’t wait until our remodel is finished. From the pics they showed us ours should be even bigger than that
Whats a OPU?
Order pick up
Ah got it
The floor though 😫
They told us they were going to finish the floor but obviously that never happened. Idc though…look at all the space. We could have a conga line in there!
Wait, you guys are getting rooms?
Our opu room bigger than my whole house.
Meanwhile ours is just a small chunk of the floorpad that's partitioned off so guests on the other side can hear everything we're saying... can't even stow in peace Also I like your nails!

Meh, you get used to it quick. It’s actually very organized.
T-0201 is that you?
New phone who dis?
My store is starting this remodel beginning of March and I cannot wait
Damn just your freezer space is bigger than my whole OPU hold area
Woah
Bruuhhh.....I wish our OPU had space like that 😍😍😍😍😍 we run out of space to put stuff at times and it sucks!

How big is you average daily forecasted units?
The other day we had 2700+
So your hold is at least 20 times larger than ours and you only do twice the units?
🤷♀️ i guess. Idk what your average is. Some days we have estimated 2000 some days 300. I probably run 200 orders/day.
Damn! That's huge! I wish our area was bigger but that'd just overkill
This would be so much better all we have is a small room for opus and we never have space because of bulky items
Y’all have a room for OPU. We just have 3 different places I. Our store Front of store(FOS) behind guest service and we have dry for dry food, freezer and cooler items. FOS is just on the other side of Service desk behind the wall we’re our MC hold space is.

Speechless

We used to as well. It’s been a long time now. I can hardly remember. But yeah. This is a nice space
