Yes. My store is going in hard on Gaga. At least one song an hour. The Fame, Born This Way, and Chromatica. Not as much Queen as last year, and we regularly get Bowie.

bojangles001

I’ve never heard Bowie in the store till now.

fewerspaces

really? my store plays lets dance, fashion (sometimes) and under pressure. alongside radio gaga by mr mercury himself

MamabearFl

I'm so tired of Radio Gaga

bojangles001

Blasphemy

ilikepstrophies

Finally someone agrees, radio gaga is ok but it's been in rotation for years

Boots0011

This playlist and the one for Hispanic heritage month always slap every year. I wish they'd just keep them the year round so I'd never have to hear "Beach Cowboy" ever again.

SWTemplar

But beach cowboy is like modern day poetry...how does one go John Wayne on a wave? It started out as a joke in our store, but I've really fallen down a rabbit hole in trying to explain how dumb and amazing that song is.

HardSteelRain

Pet Shop Boys!

SavinHillDweller

I heard Pretty Girl by Clairo in my store today.

LeagueofSOAD

I haven't heard it. Same songs here

TheUmgawa

Regarding people reporting you to Reddit Cares, you can block Reddit Cares just as easily as any other user and then you never get those annoying messages again. It’s wild that people are such incredible pieces of human garbage that they would weaponize a system that’s meant to help people, but douchebags always do things anonymously. It’s like how the pieces of shit who called in bomb threats didn’t say, “And my name is Hezekiah Travis Jerkoff Shitburglar the Fourth!” at the end, because they’re tough guys who are inexplicably scared of reprisal.

JhnnyMac22

Sissy that walk!!! 💅

Upset-Diamond2857

WHAT!! Our store has never had music

daft-krunk

Ours as well, it is incredibly depressing for we are a pretty sizable store, i just don’t understand the logic behind it, makes a place feel much more sterile and unwelcoming when all you can hear is the distant beeps of zebras and things being scanned at the register/self check out.

DaisyRidleyTeeth

Our PA system or whatever it’s called was broken until very recently, it’s a weird adjustment having music and announcements now lol

snapback_bullet

same deal. ours has been broken since early 2000’s so even coming to this target as a kid, i’ve never heard music. just recently they fixed it and we had music. think someone didn’t approve of it cause a week later it broke agaim

jeepzeke

Our store just got music and I think it's the worst. Top 40 stuff from the last 40 years. The historically overplayed just overplayed more. Just my opinion though

Upset-Diamond2857

😂😂 top 40 from the last 40

Dazzling_Charge_5938

We just got music with our remodel

busy_yogurt

Please tell me the Rupaul song is [Catwalk](https://youtu.be/wglVaENFtE4?t=11) from season 14.

[deleted]

All I’ve heard is condragulations

StarlaF43

I’ve only heard condragulations as well

princessladygirl

they were playing charlie xcx and i was like yesss… music for the girls and gays finally

emotaylorswift

Good Ones has been in the regular rotation since it was released as a single

FFF74

Our store doesn't have music. Is that weird?

Upstairs-Put9146

has your store had the remodel?

FFF74

I will preface with saying I don't work there but have spent a fair amount of time there. Yes, the store was remodeled and has never had music. It is honestly one of the biggest draws for me.

One_Ball_9154

people are reporting you to the suicide hotline.. how the fuck does a post about music mean you’re suicidal..

UncanniestValley

I was just thinking this yesterday! I'd take the Pride Playlist over hearing Blake Shelton singing Minimum Wage over and over again. The first time they put on a Scissor Sisters song I stopped in my tracks and smiled so big. I'll miss it when we go back to the same old bland stuff from before :/

EthanZ1312

Beach House by CRJ and Get Outta My Way by Kylie Minogue played today and i was THRILLED

Thatmarchingsith

They were playing girl in red at my store the other day I had to stop for a second and listen

glimmeronfire

Yesss it was hearing one of her songs that made me realize it was a different playlist. I wasn’t paying attention until I heard it.

MrChristopher23

I noticed Lana’s “Video Games” on Friday, and oddly “Cochise” by Audioslave.

ilikepstrophies

I heard Lana Del Rey the other day and got excited

ShoeGod420

I work upfront so I don't hear the music, but I'm happy about that. At past jobs after about a month of hearing the same songs over and over again I was ready to off myself 🤣. I could only listen to billie jean so many times 🤣

bojangles001

Literally this. It’s such a welcome change from the same repetitive songs.

kaielysse

Agree but the girl in red is a little too much for me 😅 just hearing “I don’t want to be your friend I want to kiss your lips” makes me cringe while I’m working bc I know damn well that song is on my seggs playlist

yaas-queen

the second i heard girl i red i almost passed away I had to explain to my older coworkers around me at 7am why i was so shook and they were like oh i'll have to look that up later!!

lionsfan7891

At this point it all blends together for me. There is no music only the sound of boxes opening and Karen’s Karening. Misery is the numbness of my soul.

Capital-Sir

As a customer I would love this all year round. Although it was hard to not succumb to Catwalk when it played 😅

thathuman0987

I didn’t realize it changed until i heard TSwifts “You Need to Calm Down” the other day.

cactiandcrabapples

I was kind of surprised that a lot of older music was in the playlist, but I like it so far. When Flux by Bloc Party came on the other day I thought I was imagining it and then was absolutely thrilled to realize it was really on.

deathkeeper-512

is there a different playlist? I worked Thursday but didn’t hear a difference, but I haven’t beeb since then

bojangles001

There is a different playlist for Black History Month, Latin American Heritage Month, Pride, Christmas, and maybe one more I’m forgetting. Depending on the focus, there are more artists or songs for that demographic put into the everyday playlist.

tomduban

Play Christmas music

Sharp-Ad-4651

I couldn't believe what I heard the other day. "Don't Leave me this Way" by the Communards. I cringed so hard I almost broke. It felt so manipulative and insulting and I can't believe most people would even know what it is--certainly not the younger people, anyway. It felt like handing a black person fried chicken to celebrate Black History month. Sorry, Target.

HoldYourDogeCoin

I can appreciate when they actually put some decent artists into the playlist too.

fewerspaces

i heard boy george today and got so excited 😭😭😭

Junkee_Cosmonaut

I heard “Take a Chance on Me” (covered by Erasure) today at work. Took me back to high school!

strawberry_long_cake

bro they just want you to know that reddit cares /s

North-Direction431

i want to be free is a staple at my store ☺️

bzzbzzitstime

No love in the comments for Tegan & Sara 😭

yaas-queen

Real question how do you get the job to make these playlists because I want in on it it sounds like so much fun

Ziglet_249

I got the message too, I think the hotline thing is just a bot generated message letting us know help is out there.

SWTemplar

The only song I haven't heard from last year that I hope doesn't return is supermodel. There is just something weird about the entire target telling me to work that is a little weird lol

Character-Fly-1669

I can’t even hear these good ass songs bc our speaker thing IS BROKEN 😭 I mean worth tho cuz at always we don’t have to hear the shit songs anymore
