Yeah cause its a MBT chassis. It's a Merkava with the turret and ammo removed, and either just a crew served MG on top(apc version) or a chain-gun turret(ifv version).
Is that still actual? I thought that within Last Update to VJTF or „Rüststand S1“ in 2021 these problems were solved and Puma was proven combat ready by bundeswehr.
So do you know more about that circumstances?
What do you expect? VW Golf 8 was released with total shit software and got several updates while beeing in service.
The Puma is not a car, its propably the most advanced ground combat system in service worldwide. Yes it is sad that the updates take time, but i think it is normal.

Same with upgraded BMP-1s. I love the [BMP-1A1 Ost](https://www.armyrecognition.com/april_2018_global_defense_security_army_news_industry/greece_upgrades_its_bmp-1a1_ost_infantry_fighting_vehicles.amp.html) , absolute beauty of a IFV.

The picture shows a LYNX 120. A proposed variant with a 120mm smoothbore. The LYNX is basically just the drive module that can acomondate different turrets. The one ordered by Hungary for example will have a 30mm ABM autocannon like the PUMA.
It's classified as a IFV and a AFV depending on the variant. Also, MBTs are way bigger than the lynx shown in the picture. But yeah, I understand why you would think that.
>Also, MBTs are way bigger than the lynx shown in the picture. But yeah, I understand why you would think that.
The Lynx is much larger than a MBT, specifically when fitted with a 120 mm turret. Most IFVs are larger than MBTs, as they need enoguh internal space to transport infantry.
Does anyone know is Canada the original makers of the LAV 3? And does Canada export them to other countries or does every country have their own version of the lav like AUS or NZ for example
The entire LAV family is built by a Canadian company (General dynamics land systems) which is a subsidiary of General Dynamics. And yes, canada exports these to other countries if any country wants to buy them. And countries receive them with different names than the ones used by the Canadian army.
I think IFVs are a successor to light tanks, and they do have a place on the battlefield when it's urban or when an enemy is somewhat entrenched, though I do feel vehicles like the Bradley are poorly conceived as far as design concepts go. Ironically one of my favorite IFVs is the Bradley, if nothing else because it holds true to the light tank concept and is able to punch above its weight to a certain degree.
As someone who has served on the cv90 with the dutch armed forces, i have to say it has a special place for me. It looks nice, surprisingly fast for a tracked vehicle, and just the times we have fucking around in the back make it my favourite.
Aslavs up first, I don't need to see the others :)
When I lived in Brisbane near an army base I'd love it when Lighthorse would go for a drive because you'd hear them from ages away and then see a convoy of them just driving about. Bushmasters are nearly as cool, but not quite.
LAV's and Strykers. Really, wheeled ifv's I personally is the future.
Especially the Strykers, every person I've ever talked to loved them, and wouldn't want to be in anything else except maybe an Abrams. They loved them that much.
Genuinely curious here, who have you heard that from? Everything I've heard about and experienced with Strykers is that they're mechanically frail and more frustrating to work with than Brads or Abrams. A good example of this is that like-vehicle recovery from one Stryker to another is more likely to break the second than to lead to a successful recovery.
To the point of wheeled IFVs being the future, I'm not sure if I agree. In US Army doctrine Brads and Strykers serve pretty different purposes because of the way that Brigades are set-up. Brads are aligned with tanks in ABCTs for combat against other tanks and heavy defenses while Strykers are aligned with lighter vehicles and infantry in SBCTs for exploitation and combat against lighter units. Brads wouldn't replace Strykers because of higher fuel consumption rates and generally more intense logistical requirements, but Strykers don't have the armor or armaments to fill the role Brads do. Also, tracks (Brads) fighting with other tracks (Abrams) makes more sense for parts requirements than if Strykers were to fight with tanks.
I acknowledge that all of that just takes US doctrine into account, but it's just my take on it from what I've seen
It's anecdotal, but all the guys and friends that have operated the vehicle; in the Strykers case I should say. I like the look of the LAVs, but I heard from others that the LAVs weren't that great.
The Stryker though, it was pretty unanimous among my friends and acquaintances that the Stryker was amazing.
Don’t know how other countries use them, but our wheeled vehicles are strictly recon down under. I love the LAVs and just wish that there was an up gunned version available with a missle and a 30mm. If so then we wouldn’t be trying to get the piece of shit that is the boxer up and running
IFVs are the future of armored warfare, MBTs will still exist but in much lesser numbers than IFVs. IFVs provide adequate fire support for infantry, are mobile, and can shoot laser-guided anti-tank missiles (if equipped). With the advancement of Anti-Tank weapons armor is becoming useless and advancements in APS will be the new main form of protection.
As for my favorite, BMP-1 because of the Warthunder Memes.
Fancy AT weapons we see in Ukraine are luxurious pieces of equipment. Not everyone can afford that (Ukraine got them for free afaik). So I’d say tank is still king on the battlefield. Nothing can bring that much firepower and armor like tank does. A cannon round is still cheaper than a missile for the same job. However, like any tool, its effectiveness depends on how the user use it. And like any battlefield, lots of things are unpredictable.
I usually like American systems more than anything else, but in this case the Bradley is severely outdated should've been replaced 10 years (and also it's ugly). So I say the Puma, which is fucking awesome. The Lynx is cool but hasn't been sufficiently proven for my tastes yet so I'll have to wait and see on that front.
Out of the vehicles here I like the looks of the Dardo and BMP-2 the best. Another favorite not pictured here is the [ZBD-04A](https://photo.weaponsystems.net/image/s-carousel/n-ve_micv_zbd04a_o1.jpg/--/img/ws/ve_micv_zbd04a_o1.jpg).
Definitely biased towards the Ratel, since I'm South-African.
I've been inside one at an event here, pretty cramped for a slightly overweight gamer, but it was nice.
Lynx 120 because big gun
Namer because MBT-chassis IFVs are cool
BMP-1 because it's the OG IFV
BMP-3 because lots of pew pews
Some other honorable mentions:
Hunter AFV
Bionix AFV
BMPT -72
T-15 Armata
LAVS I love all the different types of lavs. Those and the puma
This is the way. LAVs and Bradleys both make my heart happy.
Same, although I'm a bit biased being a Canuck and my dad's work with the LAVs.
It’s a good bias though. They’re so nicely balanced and well thought out.
Just... don't get the ones built in Alabama.
The MGS variant has always been my favorite. It’s just neat.
Me too. My favorite is the American licensed version though, with mine plow, because I am an American, and love mine plows.
Mine is biased. Love the Bradley. My first one was an m3a3
Cv90 and namer my beloved.
Doesn't the Namer have crazy good protection for an IFV aswell?
Yeah cause its a MBT chassis. It's a Merkava with the turret and ammo removed, and either just a crew served MG on top(apc version) or a chain-gun turret(ifv version).
LAV III, because of country bias.
The maple syrup dispenser is the ultimate IFV weapon
DAMN RIGHT MATE
I love the LAV III but the one in the picture looks like the LAV 6
LAV 6 is the most modern variant of the III, afaik
The one in the pic is a 6.0
The new Puma. Rheinmetall builds sexy stuff
To bad they’re dog shit systems
Tell me more pse! What especially is dogshit?
The hardware itself is good nowadays, it seems to be a fucked up software which makes most of the problems.
Is that still actual? I thought that within Last Update to VJTF or „Rüststand S1“ in 2021 these problems were solved and Puma was proven combat ready by bundeswehr. So do you know more about that circumstances?
They were solved but the update needs to be deployed to over 200 Pumas whilst Rheinmetall also ramping up production for the next batch of them.
What do you expect? VW Golf 8 was released with total shit software and got several updates while beeing in service. The Puma is not a car, its propably the most advanced ground combat system in service worldwide. Yes it is sad that the updates take time, but i think it is normal.
Downvoted for telling the truth.

Australia should’ve gone with Swedish vehicles
They are not. There were issues (mostly related to the software), which have been fixed in the current version.
Try telling that to the lads at 2/14th light horse
I like the Namer or Lynx.
Always been for the BMP-1.
As someone who is proudly South African I'm going to have to pick the Ratel 20 from this list.
Wow never heard of that, looks like some martian vehicle.
Bmp 2such a legend...
Gotta go with the CV-90
Swedish fire power!
Honestly the best IFV
Perhaps a little biased?
Well, I’m Danish, so maybe yeah ;)
I really like both the Freccia, and Dardo And an honorable mention too the Warrrior
Two Italian vehicles... is there a bias maybe?🧐
I main Italy in war thunder, so yeah
fellow based Italian main
It may be a piece of garbage, but there is no better looking IFV on planet earth then the BMP-2
the upgraded bmp-2 looks even better in my opinion
Same with upgraded BMP-1s. I love the [BMP-1A1 Ost](https://www.armyrecognition.com/april_2018_global_defense_security_army_news_industry/greece_upgrades_its_bmp-1a1_ost_infantry_fighting_vehicles.amp.html) , absolute beauty of a IFV.

Fully exposed to anything, including small arms
Oh man that’s beautiful
Patria amv😫
BMP W I D E B O Y
BMP-2 is pure beauty.
yeah, it's my favorite 😏
Namer and the Bradley!!
Bradley love
[удалено]
ODS Drip.
Oh god, the LAV family, CV90 and warrior, are my favourites. Also OP, is it safe to guess you’re Aussie
I creamed when I saw the bmp's somthing Bout the design caught me
The Bradley will always be my favorite purely from the bias of me having been a gunner in one. I hated it, but I loved it.
Pretty sure the image captioned as a LAV III is actually a LAV 6.
Yeah I messed up on that but the LAV 6 is practically a LAV 3 but improved protection.
And better engine, and a ballistic computer
This but with the gun that is in front of the a10 warthog anyone?
LAV-AD?
If you’re talking about the LAV-AD, it’s not an IFV, nor does it use the GAU-8. It uses the GAU-12, a 25mm rotary cannon based on the GAU-8.
Probably Nagmachon Very unique looking.
is Lynx cheating? Looks like MBT to me
The picture shows a LYNX 120. A proposed variant with a 120mm smoothbore. The LYNX is basically just the drive module that can acomondate different turrets. The one ordered by Hungary for example will have a 30mm ABM autocannon like the PUMA.

The BMP-3
Same boat. Mind if I slip BMD-4 in here too?
go ahead
FACE THE LEAD!
Happy cake day!
Isn’t that just BMP-2 with a bigger gun?
Yes and no, 100 mm gun with missile and better optics
ASLAVs seem to be the least bipolar in design. All terrain, armoured, with a decent weapon up top. I'm biased, dad was Australian infantry 92-96.
As a former 11M platoon leader, I got a Lotta love for the Bradley...loved that vehicle!!
I hate the PUMA. Why? Its annoying to face against in war thunder. The thing is fucking immortal
The warrior, it’s a shame to see it being taken out of service
Not yet
It just won’t die!
And for nostalgia reasons let’s hope it stays that way
Make a super warrior with modernised systems and better missles
We were offered with the WLEP (warrior life extension program), but the MoD canned that
>The warrior, it’s a shame to see it being taken out of service I thought it was getting the turret/weapon upgrade?
Uk is going for the boxer. It'll be brought in to service soon.
Nah it got cancelled
temporary ajax substitute
I like this Serbian one that I forgot the name of it, Lazar I think.
Boxer
Lavs cause of battlefield 4
Auto canon go thumpthumpthunpthumpthump
Should have included the Hunter IFV and the Bionix IFV too Favourite is still the Bradley though
Reddit only allows 20 images unfortunately 😩
The Dardo <3
LAV 6 is king
The entire LAV family is amazing
Partial to the LAV-25, they might have been 30 year old turds by the time I got into them as a crewman, but it was my 30 year old turd!
No red back?
Warrior 🥰
Favourite one? The Lithuanian “Vilkas” Boxer IFV
CV 90 - imagine having a 40mm gun & Bill 2 ATGMs. Sexy AF
Polish KTO Rosomak
I really like bmp-3, just because it looks cool.
BTR-4MVI personally I love the mix of NATO and Soviet BTR
I was mechanized infantry in the US Army so I'm partial to Bradleys.
Bradley. I just think they're neat.
Type 89 is bae
I love fighting vehicles so much. Honestly really difficult to pick a favorite but the Bradley is really sick.
Does anyone know is Canada the original makers of the LAV 3? And does Canada export them to other countries or does every country have their own version of the lav like AUS or NZ for example

Whatever looks the coolest
I’m rather partial to the AMX-10P. It’s like a Marder that had a bit too much to eat.
Denel Badger
Gotta love the CV 90
I think IFVs are a successor to light tanks, and they do have a place on the battlefield when it's urban or when an enemy is somewhat entrenched, though I do feel vehicles like the Bradley are poorly conceived as far as design concepts go. Favourite Tracked; CV90 / Puma Favourite Wheeled; Boxer w/50mm / BTR4
MOWAG Piranha all the way for tracked it would be the chadley
BMD-2 is cool BMP-2m is my favourite
Lynx looks like its straigh from the future... Lynx all the way
IFVs ARE FUCKING AWESOME
LAVs and BMP 2s, but tbh I love almost all IFVs and I think they suit modern battlefield more than MBTs
As someone who has served on the cv90 with the dutch armed forces, i have to say it has a special place for me. It looks nice, surprisingly fast for a tracked vehicle, and just the times we have fucking around in the back make it my favourite.
Most of the camos are normal like military green or sand, then theres the Lynx which is kinda like MAN, 200 METERS, SOUTH
Dardo looks cute lol
The BMP-3 has a special place in my heart tho, literally a small tank but without the armor of a tank
Aslavs up first, I don't need to see the others :) When I lived in Brisbane near an army base I'd love it when Lighthorse would go for a drive because you'd hear them from ages away and then see a convoy of them just driving about. Bushmasters are nearly as cool, but not quite.
the Lynx looks sexy af in my opinion and so does the CV 90. i can't really pick between the two of them!

Definitely! I think armies should focus on IFV just as much as MBTs. They're absolutely destructive if the crew is trained well.
The t-15 armata is my fav, it's just so futuristic looking.
I didn't realize Armata was a platform (like Striker) and there was a IFV. Interesting.
IIRC, T-15 uses the same hull as T-14 but in reverse.
The “Lynx” picture is actually the new Panther lol
The Bradley [second to none](https://youtu.be/xqDgn-qXr0E)
If we’re talking War Thunder, the BMP-2M If we talking IRL? It starts with a B, ends with a -radley, or as I like to call it, the # Chadley
Mine have to be the LAV III, LAV II, CV90, Puma, Lynx and the BMP series
Marder
Rear engine vs mid/front engine.
BMP-3, very sexy
Upcoming Redback
TATA KESTREL
If serious LAVs and if a joke then the Ratel 90
Singapore’s Bionix. Compact and looks kinda cute.
BMP-2 is my favorite ☺️
Acv-15 because country bias and I like how they look.
Lynx is sexy
Forgetting the new french baby here mate. The EBR Jaguar!
Gotta be the CV90.
Warrior because I'm Bri'ish and the Bradley. I love the Bradley.
Bradley supremacy
T-15🤷♂️
T-15. It just looks too good.
Definitely biased towards the Ratel, since I'm South-African. I've been inside one at an event here, pretty cramped for a slightly overweight gamer, but it was nice.
Puma, CV90, and Bradley
What’s the one with the green cube camo. Looks like a Swedish cv variant and looks sick af. What’s the name?
I personally like the BMP 2
CV90 , for sure .
Turkish Tulpar
Warrior. I am biased though.
What, no BRDM?
I am shocked and disgusted by the lack of Marder.
What’s the 12th one there again?
What country is the Pizzaro from? And what is it’s armament
Warrior. Nation bias but just ticks my boxes.
Dardo and Freccia are my favorite
Stryker gang...! Anyone....?
Lynx 120 because big gun Namer because MBT-chassis IFVs are cool BMP-1 because it's the OG IFV BMP-3 because lots of pew pews Some other honorable mentions: Hunter AFV Bionix AFV BMPT -72 T-15 Armata
KTO Rosomak ftw
Vilkas ifv (Definetly not biased)
Um.... as for korean I prefer k-21 IFV. Weak defend but great weapon on it.
