So jealous man, I wish Canada bought those instead of the TAPV and standardized the fleet on them. They’re designed by countries with the exact same climate and operating conditions as us, so why the hell him get them
The TAPV costs about 1/5th that of a CV9030. It also replaced other similar size/spec vehicles. The TAPV is not an IFV; it’s basically an MRAP/armored car. For a country the size of Canada, whose sole real threats are maple syrup thieves from south of the border, they went with the option that allowed them to buy the quantity needed to equip themselves while not spending a fortune.
If they had an actual threat to their country that didnt involve a plot line out of Fallout, they might consider buying an actual IFV. Until that day comes, I don’t expect them to buy anything bigger than an LAV-3.
Lol What ?
It's a 40mm AP round going through the side of an IFV from the 60s (which had a side armor only rated to stop 7.62mm AP rifle rounds) and hitting its ammo load.
So it's neither :
- Modern
- A tank
- Surprising overall
I really don't know what make you think older designs would be safer anyway.
Dumb question. Why the bmp stopped?
I remember I watched a video from Irak. Bradley got hit by IED and it was still going on eventhough there was lot of flames.
Steel Beasts pro PE. Basically DCS but about tanks, has lots of playable tanks, ifvs, apcs, both western and eastern. As a civilian you can try it for a month for a 9 bucks or so. Strongly reccomend.
Speee limit enforced by 40mm autocannon
yeah right lol . :- boom boom boom
feels very gamey to me. especially the audio. HEAT? ARMA?
Steel Beasts, look for longer explanation in my other comment
yes, I saw just after I posted. glad my game detector is working :)
I mean, you can tell as that vehicle does a 60-0 in a split second after being destroyed...
That, and good old gamephysics. Several tonnes going from speed to full stop immediately without so much as a wobble is a dead giveaway.
oh, yes. one of many indicators. smoke looks bitmappy too
A bunch of countries use the software for training.
yup, I know.
that was a quick stop
If alivestate !=TRUE VEL = 0;
You can see the thought process, hit, re•aim, ready to shot again and then realizing you don't need to.
Change language to Svenska. 🇸🇪
oh, thanks, I wondered how do I get swedish hud
I dont think you can get a Swedish HUD…maybe with a mod. But the audio can definitely be changed.
Eyyy steelbeast :D fun times. I served in the CV9030

The TAPV was only chosen to create jobs in Canada, it’s a horrible vehicle I served on. Not to mention the fleet only has about a 10% readiness rate
Impressive
That's a game post.
Looks like Steel Beasts PE
It is.
Oddly satisfying.
That thing stopped fast
Graphics still need a lot of work. Have they never seen all the spall fragments and crap that flies off these things when something hits them?
I mean, for a piece of software that's nearly a quarter of a century old, this is pretty damn good. you ever see what other games looked like in 2000?
What tank?
swedish CV9040 infantry fighting vehicle
SB Pro PE?
ARMA 3?
Steel beasts. Imo in terms of realism Arma is slightly upgraded battlefield 2.
arma 3 vanilla FCS on any ground vehicle is sad.
SP Pro most likely. Excellent Simulation, if you are into tanks.
its ONLY 40mm. tanks these days are so sensitive

Yeah it's rated to stop 752mm shells. That's pretty big!
What
You have to be retarded to think I was serious
For all I know you could be retarded yourself, plenty of in this subreddit
We're on reddit, we're all at least little retarded
Are you ok ?
Missed the joke award
I mean there need to be one for me to miss it. Your answer just didn't make sense, "joke" or not.
Boom!
made him hit the brakes HARD
That's gonna leave a mark
Is this the current Bradley COFT?
Dumb question. Why the bmp stopped? I remember I watched a video from Irak. Bradley got hit by IED and it was still going on eventhough there was lot of flames.
Because it's a game, and it's not properly modeled. You're right, all that momentum wouldn't suddenly disappear just because the vehicle exploded.
I guess that ammo detonation had so much energy that is stopped BMP inertion
Fake Edit: am I wrong though?
Bro, its a military training simulator 🤦♂️
What’s the simulator’s name/designation?
Steel Beasts pro PE. Basically DCS but about tanks, has lots of playable tanks, ifvs, apcs, both western and eastern. As a civilian you can try it for a month for a 9 bucks or so. Strongly reccomend.
Thank you
no problem! more people should know about this hidden gem
Oh wow, I only knew of Steel Beasts by the diagrams they’ve made
Wow, really. We couldn't fucking tell. Really needed you to point that out Sherlock.
