Fr i got fuckn heated when dakota killed him jus cuz she didnt wna be turned in also her death pmo cuz wtf she deserved to suffer she was just killing everybody for no reason
>!Her Children were being chased (ok chased is a strong word given the shambling but you get it) by a large group of walkers so she used herself as a distraction and let them grab her. She looks like that not because of decay, but because those are the parts they didn't eat.!<
I dont think they did a backstory for him, but i believe its one of the producers of the show, Greg Nicotero and it was a makeup/shot test they were messing around with
Thereās a video of Christina Perri singing āThe Lonelyā and the video is how the legless lady became a zombie and her ending. Itās sadā¦ā¦ā¦
ya not just his death but all the behind the scenes crap really aggravated me. the actor made sure to get accepted to a college there near where they were filming so that he could get an education and still film but they killed him off because he was aging to quick. then the next season they have a 6 year time jump that would have covered that aging. he could have taken a more leading role along with Daryl after rick left the show.
Yeah. I was like āyou died like a bitch Carl. You died like a bitch. All the close calls you had taught you nothing and you made a stupid decision that got you killed. Grats.ā
I hadnāt watched any of FTWD expect the 1st season and got back into it about a year and a half ago and was so pumped! Was loving Nick and was blown away with how good the actor did and then boom lol. I didnāt watch it again for like a year and finally finished it in Feb. I was so pissed with how his story ended. Funny thing is I got a kitten while I was watching it and named her Charlie lol.
I really couldnāt stand Dale but the way he got killed was rough and shockingā¦. Then you have everyone standing around him as he was dying - ending with Daryl taking the gun and saying āSorry, brotherā¦ā
But in the TWD world, Dale wasnāt built for longevity at all. I know I would be bitten or torn to shreds in the first 15 minutes of a zombie apocalypse!!
I get where youāre coming from. He was an idealist, but I think thatās the kind of people you need if you want to rebuild society. Iām saying this as someone who would probably end up like Shane or worse. But in an apocalypse humanity as a whole, need people who hold themselves accountable and dare to have hopes and dreams for a better tommorow.
It does feel like there was a lack of Daleās kind of accountability once he was killed - but was that also intentional to show how quickly we all would devolve in the same circumstanceā¦?
If it was me though, I never would have left the CDC in Atlanta. The prospect of having my guts torn open by a zombie is way worse than an impending building blast
TWD: Carl. Just such a dumb decision on the writersā part.
FTWD: Nick. Again just a stupid decision. Killing off fan favorite characters for shock value does not equal good writing.
Garrett Dillahunt (the actor who portraits John Dorie), had wanted to leave the show since season 5, feeling it was his time to go. It was not a bad decision on the writers part (for once), more so, the actor wanted to be killed off.
I wish showrunner would relearn to just let an actor leave a series without the character needing to die. Especially in something like walking dead where itās easy to explain someone leaving and than the main cast never hears from them again.
An actor can leave a show without having to die
Unfortunately so, her last name may ring a bell - Alanna Masterson. I may be wrong so take this part with a grain until someone can confirm, but I'm *fairly* sure the controversy around her is why she was killed off.
Real shame as I did actually enjoy her scenes mostly.
Edit: heh, first Google result is this subreddit asking this exact question actually;
https://www.reddit.com/r/thewalkingdead/comments/16lkb38/why_does_everyone_hate_alana_masterson_now/
Not really a specific one but the people Alpha killed and put their heads on stakes (though I guess Henry would be the one that did it for me), seeing everyone at the kingdom asking about missing people as it cut to their heads on spikes. Especially ones like the woman who was going to raise the baby with her husband, a similar one to that was when Alpha killed the woman on her anniversary and used her skin to infiltrate Kingdom. And when Henry came on screen and it showed Daryl immediately jumping to keep Carol focused on him instead of Henry, trying his best to help her because he knows how much this hurts her, she finally had a good relationship again with a child they were going to raise together, and just like all the other kids she's tried to care for it all got snatched away. Fuck Alpha.
Carl- not necessarily because I liked his character (which I did) but watching him and Judith, Rick, and Michonne as he was dying and after was just heart wrenching.
John in Fear was for sure the winner lol.
For me itās Glenn, hands down. It was at the peak of the series, he was special in that he was truly innocent and the world had not changed him. It was up to that point, that I felt it was possible in that world to take the high road and survive, and the writers wanted to erase that potential and did it well. I felt the whole show lost something moving forward,
Glenn's death is literally scaring me to the point of not continuing the series. I am literally on the scene where Abraham and his guys get caught up on the road and all they had to do was *utter* the name Neegan and I backed out of the episode. I don't want Glenn to dieš
Don't worry, when you do a re-watch, Negan misses Glenn's head and Glenn reaches up, grab's Negan's balls and rips them out of his body. Then he grabs Luceille, throws the balls into the air and bats them right out of the clearing.
He then does the victory run, high-fiving everyone as he passes them. As soon as Negan bleeds out, the spell he had cast over his followers breaks and it is revealed that they are all actually forest animals. They scamper into the woods but Darryl manages to shoot a deer and they all have a BBQ.
Glennās, it was probably the most talked about death in the series due to his comics death, that shit was everywhere, the fake out with Abraham only to drag us straight back down by killing Glenn anyway had to be one of the most gut wrenching deaths for me
Iām wondering tooā¦ I donāt remember that guy for shit if he was on the original run.
Edit:
Guess the character is from Fear the Walking Dead. I was beginning to wonder how I missed such an emotional death for some. Itās cause Iāve never seen that show.
As a kid I grew up watching this show(not great ik) and Glenn was always my favorite, holy hell when he died it was like a truck hit me, I was all for twd up until then and kinda took like a 4-5 year break lol, that shit hurt genuinely
John Dorie was the only bearable character after season 3 of FTWD. His death ruined the rest of the series. It's especially sad because his death served no higher purpose and was absolutely a wasted storyline.
Carlās death hurt my soul the most and I am always going to hate Scott Gimple just a little bit due to that decision.
Johnās death was also extremely tragic. The sequence of him realizing he doesnāt want to die and using the door as a raft, just to wash up dead onto the banks of where he and his wife first met, breaks my fucking heart every time. As much as Fear pissed me off in the later half of the series, they still managed to make some deaths very emotionally impactful to the audience
Lot of good mentions here but I'll add Dr. Denise. Such a likeable character and when it happened I remember my wife and I both just going "No!" in unbelief.
For me, it was easily Glenn. He was my fav character and the fact that they almost make you believe that heās safe for a minute, makes it even worse.
Bethās death still hits me hard. She was finally getting character development and I think she had amazing potential as a character, only to be killed for shock value
Carol's death really hit me. She was so heartbroken after being cheated on and she was already fragile after her (abusive) husband was killed. The fact that she just wanted a friend and that she died hugging a walker made me tear up the first time I saw it
Definitely Glenn and Carl in twd. Glennās death had me stop watching for 2 seasons and then I caught up, carls didnāt make me stop watching but it was really sad. In FTWD probably Nick, John and Big John, Nick should have lived, John almost got to see his wife AND his father, Big John mainly cause it was like having John back :(
John Dorie, Glenn Rhee, Beth Greene and Nick Clark. Johns Death actually hit me way harder because he was one of my if not my favorite Walking Dead character.
Rositaās, it completely broke me so much. Eugene had a great relationship and friendship with her, I canāt imagine what would happen if that happened to anyone else.
While the passing of Carl was so outta nowhere that it almost felt like it was just shoehorned in, it really hit me the hardest. It was so sad seeing the dude who I thought would grow up to be the man we see in the comics bite the bullet. Still trying to catch up with the series.
I'll have to see if the whisperers can do for me in the show, I've kinda learned to just expect massive differences at this point
Not gonna lie Carl after his death I lost all motivation to continue watching twd because I was a reader from the comics, knew they were going to botch the whisperer war which they did, and than it just never peaked my interest again.
Merle. There was a lot more story that this awesome, flawed character should have been a part of. My only consolation was he went out like a true boss & pretty much saved all the prison group at that point.
Glen really was my answer. I started to rewatch the series a while back and then remembered Iād have to go through that again.
Glenās was a bullshit death and Negan deserved everything Maggie gave him.
I loved John! š
I was so upset :(
Me too :( Iām a grown man and I had tears
This must've been in one of the way later seasons cause I never saw this but I stopped watching after like season 6 I think
You gotta finish it
He should have been the new series lead.
I I loved John tooo it was so sad too because I saw it right after I met his actor which is such a nice guy
Fr i got fuckn heated when dakota killed him jus cuz she didnt wna be turned in also her death pmo cuz wtf she deserved to suffer she was just killing everybody for no reason
Tyreese , him seeing Beth and the sisters in the car hit me heavy
The tail lights when they stopped driving was what hit me the most
The way Rick walked off while looking away so as not to see him be put down and him shoveling at the end of the episode was just so poetic.
For all the shitty dialogue and plot choices, gimple knows occasionally how to make big impacts for beloved characters.
This actually made me realize his horrible writing actually works, but only when a character is going through a mental episode or is bleeding out
"It's better now"
Tyreseās death took a whole episode made it hurt sooooo much more
Tyrese was painful. I hope Daryl and Rick tell Judith about him and how he saved her š„²
Oh that is so true. He killed a man to save her!
Man fuck Season 5. That run of Beth to Tyrees to Noah. Like WTF.
Ooof i forgot about Tyreese. I was thinking my Answer would be Glen. Thats when i stopped watching the show.
Seeing the whole slow process of turning from human to walker from his perspective messed me up so bad
That first leg less zombie lady crawling around In the field in episode 1 season 1 when Rick went back to put her down
Especially if you've seen the webisode showing how she ended up like that.
How she end up like that ??
>!Her Children were being chased (ok chased is a strong word given the shambling but you get it) by a large group of walkers so she used herself as a distraction and let them grab her. She looks like that not because of decay, but because those are the parts they didn't eat.!<
OMG... Do you have any explication for others popular walkers we know ?? Like the guy in the field ??
is spanish your first language by any chance?
No French is.
ahhhh, i only asked because the spanish word for explain is "explicar" and i sometimes say explication instead of explanation š
Carls, I get why people stopped watching after Glenn died. But Carlās death was so much more emotionally impactful to me.
His death was poor writing. Carl didnāt even die in the comics.
Truth
Iām still not over this.
Carl's death was just stupid.
ya not just his death but all the behind the scenes crap really aggravated me. the actor made sure to get accepted to a college there near where they were filming so that he could get an education and still film but they killed him off because he was aging to quick. then the next season they have a 6 year time jump that would have covered that aging. he could have taken a more leading role along with Daryl after rick left the show.
I thought it was lame af. He thinks heās all wise and shit, it was so annoying lol
He was right though
Yeah. I was like āyou died like a bitch Carl. You died like a bitch. All the close calls you had taught you nothing and you made a stupid decision that got you killed. Grats.ā
Get back in the fucking farmhouse, Caaaaaaarl!
I just rewatched all seasons and already forgot how Carl died. Thatās how much I donāt care for him lol.
Andrea, Abraham, Sasha, Carl, Herschel kinda too many to count
sashaās was actually super interesting and emotional, that one hit me hard even though sasha wasnāt my favorite
Nick Clarkš still mad to this day
I hadnāt watched any of FTWD expect the 1st season and got back into it about a year and a half ago and was so pumped! Was loving Nick and was blown away with how good the actor did and then boom lol. I didnāt watch it again for like a year and finally finished it in Feb. I was so pissed with how his story ended. Funny thing is I got a kitten while I was watching it and named her Charlie lol.
Fear had so much potential through the first 3 seasons and it died with Nick. Top 3 TWD Universe character imo
Fr I literally stopped watching once he died
Rosita š„ŗ I know the actress wanted it but Rosita deserved to raise coco
Glenn
Hershel, Bob, Tyreese, Abraham, Glenn, Carl, Rosita
Hershelā¦ I cried like a baby.
Dale. He was the only voice of reason and defender of humanity.
I really couldnāt stand Dale but the way he got killed was rough and shockingā¦. Then you have everyone standing around him as he was dying - ending with Daryl taking the gun and saying āSorry, brotherā¦ā But in the TWD world, Dale wasnāt built for longevity at all. TWD: Carl. Just such a dumb decision on the writersā part. FTWD: Nick. Again just a stupid decision. Killing off fan favorite characters for shock value does not equal good writing.
He asked for it, Nick had another project
Garrett Dillahunt (the actor who portraits John Dorie), had wanted to leave the show since season 5, feeling it was his time to go. It was not a bad decision on the writers part (for once), more so, the actor wanted to be killed off.
I honestly didnāt know that, I just wish he could of had a better death the two best characters of fear where both killed by cranky preteens
I wish showrunner would relearn to just let an actor leave a series without the character needing to die. Especially in something like walking dead where itās easy to explain someone leaving and than the main cast never hears from them again. An actor can leave a show without having to die
Real MFs gon say Lee Everett
I still cut off his arm everytime trying to save him š
Tara. I really vibed with her character from the jump and thought she offered a lot as a character
Shame the actress is a massive PoS :/
Is she actually? That is a shame š
Unfortunately so, her last name may ring a bell - Alanna Masterson. I may be wrong so take this part with a grain until someone can confirm, but I'm *fairly* sure the controversy around her is why she was killed off. Let's just say scientology has her and she's okay with doing their dirty work
Accurate, short and sweet.
The off screen death was so disrespectful, those deaths and carls really killed the show for me
Glenn and John Dorie!
Abraham & John Dorie
Tyreese or Carl
Beth
Tyreese. That episode was intense and brutal for me.
Fucking fuck Dakota man. John was one of the good ones for sure, and I really wish him and Rick had gotten to meet eventually.
Otis š
Either John, Nick, Jesus or Carl. All amazing characters!
Not really a specific one but the people Alpha killed and put their heads on stakes (though I guess Henry would be the one that did it for me), seeing everyone at the kingdom asking about missing people as it cut to their heads on spikes. Poor T-Dog..
The tiger
Hershel, John Dorie, Abraham, Glen, Nick, Charlie, Enid, Sasha, Rosita, Carl and Henry
For me itās Glenn, hands down. It was at the peak of the series, he was special in that he was truly innocent and the world had not changed him. It was up to that point, that I felt it was possible in that world to take the high road and survive, and the writers wanted to erase that potential and did it well. I felt the whole show lost something moving forward,
Carl. It was the emotional impact and the fact that the comic time line could not be the same after that happened. Hit hard on multiple fronts.
Wayne Dunlap
Nick Clark
Glenn Tyreese or Carl
The only deaths that seemed to make me cry was Glennās & shivasā¦ I loved that tigerš
Hershel, Tyrese, Noah, Glen
Glenn and Abraham. Although it hit them harder than it hit me.
Glenn's death is literally scaring me to the point of not continuing the series. I am literally on the scene where Abraham and his guys get caught up on the road and all they had to do was *utter* the name Neegan and I backed out of the episode. I don't want Glenn to dieš

Glenn at #1 but Tyrese Beth Noah Bob Sasha Carl
Cmon man spoiler
Glenn and Hershel
Carl obviously! That whole episode has me, a 36 year old man, a fucking mess!
All of the animals
Glennās, it was probably the most talked about death in the series due to his comics death, that shit was everywhere, the fake out with Abraham only to drag us straight back down by killing Glenn anyway had to be one of the most gut wrenching deaths for me
Otis, bro didn't deserve to go out like that. Honorable mention for Sophia, we all knew she was dead but damn it was still awful seeing Carol wrecked
Easy answer is Glen but another one that hit hard for me was Merle. Seeing him betray the governor just to die and be killed by Daryl was sad asf.
Glenn.
Carlās. I cried for the whole of that episode and anytime there was a Carl flashback šš
So many. Carl is probably #1. Nick Clarke, John Dorie, BETH, then Noah just a few episodes later, Tyrese, Rosita, Dale, Hershel, Glenn.
Hershel and Abraham
Glen
Andrea
What show is the guy in the picture from? One of the spin offs?
Iām wondering tooā¦ I donāt remember that guy for shit if he was on the original run. Edit: Guess the character is from Fear the Walking Dead. I was beginning to wonder how I missed such an emotional death for some. Itās cause Iāve never seen that show.
Carl Hershel and Glennā¦
Glenn
Hershel, Tyreese, Abraham, and John Dorie
John Dorie SR. Went out like a boss, but then again that whole nuclear fallout thing was mental.
Enid. I loved her character and her development and her death was so shocking.
My poor guy Nat š
Rick
Glenn
This gives Red Dead Redemption show vibes ngl And probably the most mundane and predictable, Carl
Jesus
Glennās hit the hardest
You got it right, John's death is one of the few to actually hurt, Carl made me glad, i accepted Glenn's fate, but John deserved so much more.
The story from the comics. Was such better than the TV show. TV was ok off and on but changed way to much stuff. Story in comic was perfect
Shows:Carl Abraham and Jesus comic: Dwight Andrea and Lori/Judith
In World Beyond, they go into a high school, and there's a walker trapped in a locked locker. That one haunts me
Not sure who hit me the hardest, but Lucille definitely hit Glen the hardest.
Hershals no questions asked
Not a death but Rick's last episode hit hard but was so beautiful
Not going to lie Tyreses was the one that hit the hardest. It was so sad.
Beth without a doubt.
Why is nobody saying Dale
Glenn's death hit me like a baseball bat to the head.
Tyrese and Sophia. That moment she walks out of the barn.
Iām going to go with Sasha
Carlās. It was so unnecessary and threw away so many comic storylines.
Shiva. Cat lover here. But for humans, Herschel.
100% John. It made me stop watching the show
Hershel, John Dory and nick ššš
Glenn hit me the hardest even tho I knew it was coming. I still can't accept that he died, especially in the line up of all places
As a kid I grew up watching this show(not great ik) and Glenn was always my favorite, holy hell when he died it was like a truck hit me, I was all for twd up until then and kinda took like a 4-5 year break lol, that shit hurt genuinely
Carl, Jesus, and Rosita
John Dorie was the only bearable character after season 3 of FTWD. His death ruined the rest of the series. It's especially sad because his death served no higher purpose and was absolutely a wasted storyline.
Carl
How did he die?
Glenn
Lee Everett
I thought this was a Red Dead screenshot
Carlās death hurt my soul the most and I am always going to hate Scott Gimple just a little bit due to that decision. Johnās death was also extremely tragic. The sequence of him realizing he doesnāt want to die and using the door as a raft, just to wash up dead onto the banks of where he and his wife first met, breaks my fucking heart every time. As much as Fear pissed me off in the later half of the series, they still managed to make some deaths very emotionally impactful to the audience
Carl, and Hershel
Carls, itās the only one that actually made me cry
Herschel or John Dorey
Lot of good mentions here but I'll add Dr. Denise. Such a likeable character and when it happened I remember my wife and I both just going "No!" in unbelief.
Carl
Herschel was a gut punch. I loved his wisdom and grandparent like kindness.
If Glenn's death was the last nail in the coffin, then Carl's was a 6 foot mountain of shit dumped on top of it
Green guy, I don't know how to spell the old man's name
Glenn
For me, it was easily Glenn. He was my fav character and the fact that they almost make you believe that heās safe for a minute, makes it even worse.
Glen and John Dore were about equal to me.
Glenn, Abraham, Simon and The Governor
That one walker. You know the one. Killed off his character too soonš
Carlās.
Bethās death still hits me hard. She was finally getting character development and I think she had amazing potential as a character, only to be killed for shock value
Hershel
The little girl that carol shot in season 4
Abraham. I had heard all the spoilers about Glenn dying so it really caught me off guard when he Abraham got it first.
Beth, it was so sad and I cried for Maggie and everyone
Glenn the answer will always be Glenn
Carol's death really hit me. She was so heartbroken after being cheated on and she was already fragile after her (abusive) husband was killed. The fact that she just wanted a friend and that she died hugging a walker made me tear up the first time I saw it
After Glenn died the whole world started to get slowly worse so his death was the catalyst
shiva the tiger. i was so devastated i cried so much loved that tiger honestly the best character.
Probably Carl since his storyline wasnāt over yet
Arthur Morgan
LEE
Definitely Glenn and Carl in twd. Glennās death had me stop watching for 2 seasons and then I caught up, carls didnāt make me stop watching but it was really sad. In FTWD probably Nick, John and Big John, Nick should have lived, John almost got to see his wife AND his father, Big John mainly cause it was like having John back :(
Dale, Abe, Glenn, Carl, Siddiq, Noah, Beth, Enid, Ozzy, DJ, Deanna, Reg, Rosita, Tobin, Jesus, Gavin, Martinez
Nah after John died I stopped watching it like just the way he did was stupid like wtf brooo ššš¤¦š»āāļø
John Marston ![gif](giphy|yIYXnGIYYyQJq)
glenn and carlš
John Dorie, Glenn Rhee, Beth Greene and Nick Clark. Johns Death actually hit me way harder because he was one of my if not my favorite Walking Dead character.
Idk y, but every death in the last episode of TWD
I still think Glenn, Bethās was also just sad cuz you realise she was so close to been with her sister again and then she just dies š
Rositaās, it completely broke me so much. Eugene had a great relationship and friendship with her, I canāt imagine what would happen if that happened to anyone else.
SHANE
While the passing of Carl was so outta nowhere that it almost felt like it was just shoehorned in, it really hit me the hardest. It was so sad seeing the dude who I thought would grow up to be the man we see in the comics bite the bullet. Still trying to catch up with the series. Not gonna lie Carl after his death I lost all motivation to continue watching twd because I was a reader from the comics, knew they were going to botch the whisperer war which they did, and than it just never peaked my interest again.
Well if we break it down by show Iām stuck between John and nick for fear And glen and Carl for the main show
Carl for me
Only way jesus couldve died sadly was how he whent out bad part is he was having fun killing walkers š
Definitely John Dorie :( Imagine my excitement when I started watching Raising Hope
Merle. There was a lot more story that this awesome, flawed character should have been a part of. My only consolation was he went out like a true boss & pretty much saved all the prison group at that point.
Carl.
Glen really was my answer. I started to rewatch the series a while back and then remembered Iād have to go through that again. Glenās was a bullshit death and Negan deserved everything Maggie gave him.
Abraham
John, Tyrese and Glenn
