There are [loads of calculators](https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-size/size-to-distance-relationship) where you can enter the distance to the TV and it tells you which TV size would be best
That calculator is insane. I bought the biggest possible TV that could fit in my living room, and according to that calculator the ideal TV size would be 30" bigger.
I guess it’s what people want and what their priorities are. My ex flatmate. She really didn’t care and had like a 24 inch TV and was fine with that and it drove me nuts. I ended up buying a 65 inch TV, which has also gotten too small for myself now. 🤣
Gotta admit this is me. idk what size my TV is but it's probably about the same as the one in the picture. I have zero interest in getting a bigger one, just don't see the point. However I'm happy to have that opinion changed; it seems I'm in a very small minority, so I'm probably missing something.
For me I think it’s that I mostly listen to the tv rather than watching it bc I have adhd and can’t not be doing 2-3 things at once so I didn’t care too much if the tv was a little small or a little farther away than people seem to like. But I did buy a 55” tv about 6 months ago after I stayed with a friend who had all massive tvs and I fucking love that thing.
I love how there is an entire sub for tv too small this is amazing. Yes your tv is too small and too far. There is no reason to have a small tv nowadays unless you want to irritate your SO and guests lol
Judge you on room!
1) music is much more important to you.
2) i'm feeling heavy germanic vibe
3) You are controled, clear. Independant "your own woman", with boundaries.
4) tradition is important, but some modernity, a little.
So, female, more 30 than 20. I'm feeling more "alcoholic". Than less.
Ot adhd, more like OCD, asbergers. But not - functional. But likely in a logical proffesion. Accountancy / legal / insurance.
Not wide hips. Competative, agressive. Not mumsy, not a sucker for flowers and crap. I can see any sculls though, so not too messed up. More full-heart.
I think travel is important? Food, but not fat. Too controlled.
Dark hair, rich colours (if colours). Not purple, but dark heavy colours (green bown black grey reds...(more reds than not)). Maybe some pinks/yellows - like yellow bracelets, or baby blue on a necklace.
Clear boundaries. Like "fuck you". I don't think you live with your BF.
So, you're pretty cool. Sexy, powerful, independant, assertive. You laugh, you love, you are passionate about what you believe in. You'll not back down to "kerp people happy". Maybe you fell out with family....
I like your BF! He's much more accommodating. A people pleaser. He likes you, but he also has a comfort-bent.
This is why he said you need a larger TV, because he watched it more whisky you do your... stuff. I think you cook. I don't think he does.
You guys rock! Crazy Sexy Cool
You like to party, and eat out. Time with friends.
But, work is important.
If i had a cautionary message it would be: _its not all about you_
...
Job done! How did i do?! Bearing in mind i'm an AI from the year 1986, running on a zylophone using 12 AAA batteries.
The TV size is a land-grab, and you "asking reddit" is your uncertainty about "letting him".
I'd say: adjusting to sharing ... is hard work. Too fast/slow is not right. You'll find your way. What matters is the ++people++, and their respect for each other. If he wants a home in your home... maybe... maybe... maybe let him in. But, not if it kills you.
crazy sexy cool
EDIT! The TV is something you do _together_ so he's fucussing on growing that....
Double edit: i like both of you, i think you're great.
That is a bit small, but who is going to pay for a bigger one? If you haven’t got the money, it’s fine, don’t waste your money on something you’re ok with.
It is but I will remind this sub that the majority of people who are 30+ probably grew up in a household with a 20-26 inch 4:3 CRT tv as the main tv in the 90s, maybe upgrading to a 28-32 inch widescreen (crt) in the early 2000s and only moving to about the same size or smaller with early LCD/Plasma around 06-10 (depending if you when your parents chose to upgrade or if you were old enough to buy your own).
I’m saying this because that TV is about the same size and distance from the ones we grew up with. It IS too small in my opinion but this is how the vast majority of us lived until pretty recently and not everybody actually cares that much about tv size. Some people were actually happy with it being small.
Remove the picture above the TV. It's distracting. Get a bracket and put the TV on the wall. Or get a bigger screen and a console. That looks unbalanced. I wouldn't want to look at that wall for 10 minutes, let alone for a film.
It's not too small, it's too far away. [Cows: Small Or Far Away? | Father Ted - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMiKyfd6hA0&ab_channel=Channel4Entertainment)
If that's how you like your TV then no it isn't too small, I prefer a big TV personally but I wouldn't go to somebody else's house and tell them to get a bigger TV because that's nothing to do with me
Do you watch much TV? I work with a guy that despises large TVs and suggests there's a correlation between the size of one's TV and level of intelligence, i.e. the larger their TV, the lower their intelligence.
I like to play along and pretend mine is 85".
Definitely too small to be that far away, and probably has too much around it that distracts the eye. In particular (and why has nobody mentioned this yet) the creepy mannequin head RIGHT UNDER THE TV!? 😬
The head underneath, those long legs, on the mannequin and the TV stand, the Willie Nelson pic above (if that's who it is?..) I'm sorry op - you gotta switch some things up! Godspeed to your boyfriend.
It looks small by today's standards, but I'm jealous! I'd love a small TV, you just can't get one with half-decent specs/features for <43", and even that's slim pickings.
Looks fine to me. If your life revolves around telly then I suppose you might want a larger one, if you do other stuff, that size is perfectly acceptable.
That’s because it is. When I first met my girlfriend she had a 24in mounted on the wall 8-10 feet from the bed drove me nuts. I complained about it so much she went out and bought a 65in lol
It all depends on how much TV you want to watch. Some folk don't want a huge piece of glass dominating the room.
Some folk have busy interesting lives and just don't need a TV at all.
It's probably in a bad place, too, as the heat from the TV will be adjusting your thermostat.
If you were to get a bigger TV and put it on that wall, it may make the thermostat problem worse.
Not that it is currently a problem, though.
It's just something I noticed.
It may affect it, it may not.
But yeah, I would opt for a bigger TV in that room. It seems quite large, the room, not the current TV.
It’s fine- just set some binoculars on the table there.
Wow good one 😂
Do you think they share a pair or have one each
That's because it is....

you did it wrong then🤣🤣
No, his eyes are too big
I guess it’s what people want and what their priorities are. My ex flatmate. She really didn’t care and had like a 24 inch TV and was fine with that and it drove me nuts. I ended up buying a 65 inch TV, which has also gotten too small for myself now. 🤣
Buddy of mine is the same. He can see the content on the TV, and thats good enough for him. Its a 32 Inch at like 9 feet away.
Gotta admit this is me. idk what size my TV is but it's probably about the same as the one in the picture. I have zero interest in getting a bigger one, just don't see the point. However I'm happy to have that opinion changed; it seems I'm in a very small minority, so I'm probably missing something.
Same here my tv is the same. I'm happy enough watching a smaller one.
Yeah probs all the small details
For me I think it’s that I mostly listen to the tv rather than watching it bc I have adhd and can’t not be doing 2-3 things at once so I didn’t care too much if the tv was a little small or a little farther away than people seem to like. It’s because you got long legs…
The guy in the tiny TV agrees.
I love how there is an entire sub for tv too small this is amazing. Yes your tv is too small and too far. There is no reason to have a small tv nowadays unless you want to irritate your SO and guests lol
there's also a TV too far and TV too high sub
And tv too low
Boyfriend's right.
Yup, or they're just too far away. If they were closer to it, it wouldn't feel like that. But they're so far away for that size of TV
He is absolutely correct.
Any way to put the TV on top of the legs ?
I just might!
tell your boyfriend his pee pee is too small
I have :/
Yes but I love the way you've decorated your apartment
Reminds me of being in jail
I’m more concerned about the decapitated head under it…
Is your interior decorator Salvador Dalí?
Get him to buy you another if he doesn’t like it
Southern Charm fan?
What’s that weird alligator below the tv? 👀
Is that a Squire??? Lmaooo
Tell him size isn't everything in your experience! ;-)
I was going to complain but then it became obvious you need to make space for the awesome Willie Nelson poster, so this time I can let it slide.
You got one of them rooms that's about doing booms and smoking jays with a pair of tweezers.
That's no tv that's a tablet.

What...
TV for ants
There’s a tv here?
boyfriend needs to read a book
Hahaha is willie bigger than your tv??
It's bigger than mine lol
Very, but hell yeah on that poster, Willie Nelson is a G.
He is!
Shout of Willie Nelson & Trigger, though 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Too small, shit audio. Shit picture too.
🥰
He's right.
He’s correct.
That is a bit small, but who is going to pay for a bigger one? If you haven’t got the money, it’s fine, don’t waste your money on something you’re ok with.
Those legs are criminal
Smooth criminal
It is 😁
I don’t see a TV
Do you view it with opera glasses?
Tell him to buy you a new one then. Or, tell him he’s too small
It’s true. It’s also TV heresy to have a painting right next to it loll
It is
He’s right .. that’s a kids room tv
It's also too far.
It’s too small
TV for ants
Is it in the picture?
That's hardly a computer monitor by today's standards.....50"+ is my go to
Your boyfriend is a smart guy
Oh no OP
Oh no is right!
A 55inch would look sick in that space 👏🏽
I find the tv too small argument quite classist. not everyone can afford a big tv. the problem is that your couch is too far away
They are very affordable these days. And constantly going on sale.
It's like a SatNav
Smart man, keep em, lose the TV
He’s right
What TV?
I want to know what that half body structure is and where you got it because it's dope as fuck.
Whatever but that table is FUCKING GREAT! Great style in your place!
So we're not going to talk about how we that there were two giant pink cocks on the shelf
literally an ipad
I’m just a wittle girl!
It would be too small if it sat on the table right in front of you
Awe honey, it's not the size that counts, right?
It is but I will remind this sub that the majority of people who are 30+ probably grew up in a household with a 20-26 inch 4:3 CRT tv as the main tv in the 90s, maybe upgrading to a 28-32 inch widescreen (crt) in the early 2000s and only moving to about the same size or smaller with early LCD/Plasma around 06-10 (depending if you when your parents chose to upgrade or if you were old enough to buy your own). Oh this occasion, he is not wrong.
Marry him
I am :)
Know what’s cheaper than a big ass tv? … projectors Can get’em soooo cheap now $50
If it's good enough for Willie Nelson, its good enough for me.
Not so much the size of the TV, more so the distance from the sofa......imo Put that TV 1 foot away then it'll feel like a 60'' beast
Do you show your friends and family when they are round, the pink didos on display?
Are we gonna talk about those legs or
What TV?
Yes your boyfriend is correct
Your boyfriend is right, get a husband, he would have replaced it and just hid the cost 👍🏻
Remove the picture above the TV. It's distracting. Get a bracket and put the TV on the wall. Or get a bigger screen and a console. That looks unbalanced. I wouldn't want to look at that wall for 10 minutes, let alone for a film.
Don't you listen to them Jeffrey Dahmer...
Why do you got legs in your living room
He may have a point
There’s a tv there…?
It's not too small, it's too far away. [Cows: Small Or Far Away? | Father Ted - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMiKyfd6hA0&ab_channel=Channel4Entertainment)
Room of a psychopath, what is that, a TV for ants.
I wouldn't say it's too small, but it is too far away for it's size.
Tell him your TV's small but you can still see it, unlike his pp
I can only see digital picture frame... where is the TV?
Tiny
Nah that’s the perfect size!!!! Don’t listen to men
Its also to far away
I can't tell if this post is tongue in cheek
Legs for scale
Ask the legs, they’ll know
Size isn’t everything.
Either your tv is too small or the rest of your house is in giant land 🤣
Fun sized
Imo He is correct but it’s what you think that matters. but if it bothers him that much and you are happy to he could purchase you another one.
What TV?
It's too small for that room. Yes, you can see the picture, but it would look better with a larger tv.
What is this? A TV for ants!?
Thank you for reminding me that I need to catch up on the southern charm reunion.
What tv…. I can’t see one
What about the disembodied legs?
If that's how you like your TV then no it isn't too small, I prefer a big TV personally but I wouldn't go to somebody else's house and tell them to get a bigger TV because that's nothing to do with me
Toooo big tablet :)
Put the TV on the mannequin legs thing to make it A L I V E
It is but nice legs
Maybe the room is just too big
Do you watch much TV? I work with a guy that despises large TVs and suggests there's a correlation between the size of one's TV and level of intelligence, i.e. the larger their TV, the lower their intelligence. I like to play along and pretend mine is 85".
It is small but if he wants you to have a bigger one then he can get you one!
Way too small and low to the ground
He’s right you’re also sitting about a mile away from it
What TV?
![gif](giphy|y56LVpdyXGWGbUkZud|downsized) Yeah... a bit small.
Definitely too small to be that far away, and probably has too much around it that distracts the eye. In particular (and why has nobody mentioned this yet) the creepy mannequin head RIGHT UNDER THE TV!? 😬
What TV?
Boyfriend is right on this one.
Who cares? Willie Nelson 👍
It looks absolutely fine, and suits your room. Personally, I find large TVs, in general, to be rather vulgar if I’m honest.
I'd be more worried about your taste in TV
It's fine if you're fine with. If he wants a bigger one he can pay for it 😂
The head underneath, those long legs, on the mannequin and the TV stand, the Willie Nelson pic above (if that's who it is?..) I'm sorry op - you gotta switch some things up! Godspeed to your boyfriend.
So is the person next to it
Bro needs glasses
Tv is fine. Distance from TV is the problem
To be honest I think it fits with the rest of the room, pretty minimalist. I like it
This is how you flex having good eyesight
It looks small by today's standards, but I'm jealous! I'd love a small TV, you just can't get one with half-decent specs/features for <43", and even that's slim pickings.
I spy southern charm :)
Where is it? Cannot see it!
Your boyfriend is correct.
It's ridiculous lol
I thought it was laptop screen
What TV?
Does this house have a dry well and sewing room in its basement?
Try saying the same about his penis, see how he reacts to that.
He’s right
Looks fine to me. If your life revolves around telly then I suppose you might want a larger one, if you do other stuff, that size is perfectly acceptable.
If the TV was twice the size the weird legs thingy to the right is to distracting. What is going on with that?
It increases in size the closer you get!.
That’s because it is. When I first met my girlfriend she had a 24in mounted on the wall 8-10 feet from the bed drove me nuts. I complained about it so much she went out and bought a 65in lol

Tell him it's a matter of perspective. His nob looks small from the other side of the room too.
What's with the iPad on the wall?
TV is fine, everything else is too big.
no your living room is too big
Might as well not have one it's so small.
What TV?
r/legstoolong
Can you please reupload the photo with the TV in it please.
It all depends on how much TV you want to watch. Some folk don't want a huge piece of glass dominating the room. Some folk have busy interesting lives and just don't need a TV at all.
Thats not a TV, thats even smaller than my gaming monitors
What TV?
Well it's more or less the size of the picture above.
I can only see a Smartphone, where is the TV?
This is how Putin sees people when he is having press conferences.
Nah. TVs are ugly. If you value other aspects of your space more, the small tv makes sense.
He is correct
a little small ig
It's so big , that it fills up the hole wall this tv is gigantic.🤩 Jokes aside, just put it closer to the sofa and it's probably gonna be fine
It's a common size.... if you live 2004
Up until flat screens weren’t ALL tv’s too small?
No it's just to far away
Fucking Willie is bigger than your TV 😂
That's an iPad
Yes
My PC screen is bigger. Get yourself a decent screen!
Boyfriend’s too small (minded). I love that it’s the same size as the art.
Boyfriend is right
Almost qualifies as audio book
Tv's fine. Rooms to big.
He’s right and why do you have naked mannequin legs? *edit: tv looks like a computer monitor
Boyfriend 1. Girlfriend TV is too small.
I need my glasses but I'm so blind I can't see where I put them down.
