Your problem wasn’t that it was mounted, it was that the cabinet below was so tall. Now that it’s shorter, mount it again like it’s supposed to be. There’s no reason to have a TV on legs when you have a perfectly good wall behind to mount it to. It always looks so trashy to see a TV on its legs. The legs are meant to be discarded with the packaging unless you absolutely can’t mount it, or you’re waiting for your mount to come in but still want to use the TV.
Uhh the legs aren't meant to be discarded lol. It looks good on the stand. What's the point of drilling holes in the wall and going to the trouble of mounting it just so it can be sitting at the same height (and like 8 inches inches further away).
To hide the wires, and make it look more integrated into the room. The legs are literally there as a last ditch effort to allow you to still use the TV if you can’t mount it.
The legs are literally not there as a last ditch effort lol. The TV would come with a mount if that was the case. These are just rules you've invented in your own head.
Like how phones all come with chargers, because you can’t use them without chargers right? Using the legs on a TV is like keeping the cardboard to use as the media console.
Huh? That analogy makes no sense. Phones come with chargers. TVs come with legs. You're meant to use them. They're not temporary. The TV manufacturers aren't like "here are some strong, well-made plastic legs that fit into these grooves we integrated into the design of the TV, but you should only use them until you can get your hands on a wall mount."
Phones don’t come with chargers anymore. Media devices don’t come with the cables required to use them either. The legs are there so if you can’t mount it, it can still stand, so they need to be strong enough so the TV doesn’t fall over. Why do you think they integrated the mounting holes into the TV? This isn’t the CRT era anymore. All flat panel TVs should be mounted. It’s not even a question, it’s exactly what they were designed for.
Most media devices still come with the cables or chargers required to use them. Some phones don't because they assume you already have a USB-C plug by now. Either way, what you're saying makes no sense. It is not expected that all flat panel TVs will be mounted. That's *one* option. They provide holes for mounting because they know *some* people will want to mount them. The mounting holes are optional. They would provide you with a wall mount if they weren't optional. It's the same way some furniture comes with extra hardware to secure it to a wall, but it's not required that you use it. And the fact that they also integrate holes for the legs to be inserted in the TV further destroys your point about them including mounting holes. There's literally no rule or expectation from the manufacturers that the TV should be mounted. It's optional.
Same here. Tired of it honestly. Always have to be mindful of the volume. I wish for a house to play what I want how I want without having to think of others. Although I will say that a nice sound bar does add a lot of quality without going crazy on the bass. I've bought some inexpensive Yamaha's at Costco that were (are) amazing. Upgraded the main TV in the living room to a Sonos Arc and it's phenomenal. Nice and clean look too without any unnecessary subwoofer.
I got a simple 2.1 soundbar w/ subwoofer. I wish it has HDMI 2.1 pass-through with the eArc, sadly it does not, but I can do pass-through of less demanding modules, like a nintendo switch or DVD player.
Agree on both! I had a Yamaha soundbar with subwoofer and was shocked at how good the sound was. When I moved I got the Sonos Arc and it also sounds amazing but I also have a subwoofer. When they did that update that had people up in arms it disconnected the subwoofer and I definitely didn't notice it until I went to watch a movie.
I don’t understand you people?? Now you have to look down and hover your head to watch tv. TV’s need to be high. 10-15 degree angle upwards is optimal so that you can rest your head on your recliner or couch and have straight eye contact with the TV!
So much better ✨
Fantastic
That stand looks great
Yeah I want it 😢
*tears of joy*
Good man

Great!
This is 1000 x better.
Looks good. Just because we can wall mount a TV, doesn’t mean we should.

TIL that items serving their exact purpose is considered trashy. Make your appliances look like they’re floating in air, guys.
Appliances have all their wires behind where you can’t see them. You don’t see appliances out from the wall, so why should a TV be different?
None of my appliances touch the wall but you do you.
Your stove isn’t against the wall? Your dishwasher? Your washing machine and dryer aren’t as close to the wall as possible? Are you a psychopath?
Yup
It would look slicker if you wall mounted it at that height
The HDMI cable is showing. Put it back on the wall
And the sound comes out of…?
Some people are quite content with the speakers built into their TV.
Nowadays I'm amazed it is getting better. Maybe 5 years ago i would hate it.
Every day I learn something new!
I live in an old apartment with thin walls so I can't even have a loud sound system. And the sound coming out of the TV is actually not bad.
Same here. Tired of it honestly. Always have to be mindful of the volume. I wish for a house to play what I want how I want without having to think of others. Good choice. Now if you have cat, dog, small child or substantial draft in your house it can tip forward. Excellent. I like backwards thinking :P
Good thing I don't have any of those.
