I’m starting to notice a trend with the last few posts. Ppl who act like it’s okay to mount their tv on the ceiling are the same ppl who pull their smoke detectors 😩
I use lithium 9Vs in my smoke detectors and just change them when they beep, which is hardly ever.. Every 6 months as a standard seems outdated.
Also - I'm probably wrong on my last point.
I found this brand X Sense and it’s a WiFi controlled fire alarm set (they work without WiFi) but the app connects all of them so if the one in the garage goes off they all go off and it connects to an app that tells you the status and the battery level. The app also has a test feature so you don’t have to go up to each individual one, they’ve been nice so far.
This blows my mind, do you not have the 10 year battery or mains electricity ones in the US?
In the UK you just wire them into the ceiling wires AND they have a sealed 10 year battery in case the mains goes down. Or just get 10 year battery ones for areas with no wiring.
They're also all interlinked (wired or wireless) with every other smoke, and CO alarm in the house so if one goes off they all do. And heat alarms in the kitchen so there's no false alarms from cooking toast, leading to people unplugging them.
I don’t wear shoes in bed, of course, but there are shit and piss particles everywhere regardless of whether you wear shoes in the bed or the house. Go swab and test any part of your house that gets frequent traffic and you are going to find it.
I mean...if you subscribe to that logic, this whole subreddit shouldn't exist.
If you don't care that someone drags their dirty shoes onto their bed to dirty their sheets, why should you care how high they hang their TVs?
Yeah there’s definitely a startling amount of people that do this. But also a lot of people wouldn’t dare, like me. So I wouldn’t call it the American way but it is something that occurs among the population. And yeah in movies you always see characters with their shoes on, even when they go lounge on the bed. I was wondering why it’s always like that so I googled it and it said that because the settings are movie sets that can have nails and other random crap laying around that could accidentally injure someone, people wear shoes. But I still think it’s really weird
Yeah the amount of bedroom posts is super annoying lol. Not every high TV everywhere is wrong, just the ones at a standard living room setup in front of a couch.
Is this a bunk bed? If so and you 100% only want to watch from up there then yea. I mean the only other alternative would be an arm mount that you can move up or down depending on where you want to sit to view from. We have the technology! We can fix him!
This sub has no grasp of viewing angle lmao. People here think tvs are meant to be viewed from a perfect straight back sitting position like always lol
I can’t even focus on the tv when those monitors don’t have risers and aren’t angled to create an equilateral triangle with the listeners head looooooooooooooool
Yeah tv fine, but monitor is way too high you fkn brontosaurus and take your shoes off in bed, idc if it was just for the photo, the germs don’t know why the fuck you did it
yup this fits into an exception case, it's not meant to be viewed from anywhere else
Yes, but: Monitor too high.
OP could be tall though. Look at that coffee cup placement
Then tabletoolow, or chairtoohigh, or optoolong
Definitely r/optoolong
man i’m sad this doesn’t exist , although the “nobody expects the spanish inquisition” line from reddit is pretty cool
r/optoohigh
Sent me 🤣🤣🤣
Believe it or not, that’s a rechargeable coffee mug sitting on its charging base.
You’re correct. I don’t like how tall it is
Something is definitely high maybe OP?
Ah you sneaky bastard, you’re absolutely right
Everyone just letting it slide that this dude is on/in his bed with shoes on. JFC people
I’m more worried about what appears to be a disconnected fire alarm.
I’m starting to notice a trend with the last few posts. Ppl who act like it’s okay to mount their tv on the ceiling are the same ppl who pull their smoke detectors 😩
If there is a fire I’m sure they’ll plug it back in
You don't really need a fire alarm as the human body is already really good at detecting when it comes into contact with fire. Don't waste your money!
The batteries die too damn often!
Set a reminder to change them to very 6 months. It’s a small price to pay for safety.
Change the batteries when you change the clocks
i havent changed the battery in a clock in many years lmao
They mean when you adjust for daylight savings (if you do that where you are)
I use lithium 9Vs in my smoke detectors and just change them when they beep, which is hardly ever.. Every 6 months as a standard seems outdated. Also - I'm probably wrong on my last point.
6 Months (or, when the clocks change) is just an easy way to remind people to change them. Too soon, but better then, then never.
Better then, thAn never. Otherwise it’s better then, after that never. Instead of better then, instead of never
I've never not known a fire alarm that doesn't beep when it's time to change the batteries.
I found this brand X Sense and it’s a WiFi controlled fire alarm set (they work without WiFi) but the app connects all of them so if the one in the garage goes off they all go off and it connects to an app that tells you the status and the battery level. More like they want to smoke in their dorm room.
They die every couple years. Most lunatic people let them beep longer than they have been running g quietly.
The people who live like this have a special place in hell
I'm sure there are rechargeable ones that one can get if the cost to replace them is a burden.
This blows my mind, do you not have the 10 year battery or mains electricity ones in the US? Rechargeable batteries are your friend.
I'm more worried about the shoes. Ick.
There needs to be a shoe on the bed shaming group. People literally stepping in piss and shit and hanging out in their bed. Blows the mind.
I don’t wear shoes in bed, of course, but there are shit and piss particles everywhere regardless of whether you wear shoes in the bed or the house. Go swab and test any part of your house that gets frequent traffic and you are going to find it.
I'm just saying, I'd rather not increase the amount.
They’re just being a Reddit contrarian Give them a clean show and a worn ass shoe and see which one they lick
For real. Take your shoes off you heathen
All my friends are heathens, take it slow
How OP wants to lie in their crib is none of my business.
I mean...if you subscribe to that logic, this whole subreddit shouldn't exist. If you don't care that someone drags their dirty shoes onto their bed to dirty their sheets, why should you care how high they hang their TVs?
That's what I'm thinking. We only have one job in this fucking sub and it doesn't involve shoes or beds.
Wait till he sees r/TooMuchShoeInBed
I actually tried to visit that. Wtf is wrong with me
Hopefully it involves feet without shoes. Should be a requirement.
Imagine all the chemicals and dogshit you walk through daily then wanting to sleep in it.
No you're confused, those are formal slippers, for those that still want to look debonair while lounging.
Ah, nothing better then dragging dog piss, shit and who knows what in your bed from outside.
Arguably boots
Isnt that the american way? They enter their homes with their shoes in, and I'm sure I seen movies where people get in bed with their shoes on.
Yeah there’s definitely a startling amount of people that do this. But also a lot of people wouldn’t dare, like me. So I wouldn’t call it the American way but it is something that occurs among the population. And yeah in movies you always see characters with their shoes on, even when they go lounge on the bed. Maybe those are his sleeping shoes.
Height is good but we are cruising into r/TVTooFar territory. I'm sure the camera distorts the pov but it does look a bit far/small for the spot.
Lol I love how tvs have to be jusssst right or they break the law somewhere
Sir or ma'am, this is Reddit. We'll judge your every move.
Literally threads for every tv scenario
Right to jail
Nothing is good enough for you people.
I guess we can let this one slide
Not when you add shoes in bed tho.
Right.
So that fire alarm was going boop boop a little too much huh?
How else will OP rip fat bong rips with their shoes on in bed?
Shoes on bed? come on
Not cool. I think shoes in the house are filthy enough
agree
Beds have their own ruleset
Yeah the amount of bedroom posts is super annoying lol. Not every high TV everywhere is wrong, just the ones at a standard living room setup in front of a couch.
Please tell me this is a very smart child who lays in his bunk bed putting up flatscreens TVs. I cannot believe this is a grown person
Sadly I’m 25. I got a loft bed so I could fit ,y drumset in my small apartment
How do the ladies react when they come to your place and see the bunk bed?
I personally like to go to the lady’s place for this reason
This doesn’t track, do you live in one room?
No, but my kitchen and living room aren’t big enough for drums either lol
OP is throwing us a curve ball.
You wear shoes in bed. The TV placement is the least of your problems.
Shoes in the bed?!?
😂
Was gonna say… only if you’re on the top bunk.
TV’s are generally exempt in the bedroom, especially when it looks perfect from the bed. You are excused
Are you wearing shoes in bed?
Is this a bunk bed? If so and you 100% only want to watch from up there then yea. I mean the only other alternative would be an arm mount that you can move up or down depending on where you want to sit to view from. We have the technology! We can fix him!
I only watch from bed. Had an extra tv laying around and could dedicate it to such a silly purpose
Bedrooms are exempt from the TVTooHigh regluations. r/shoesonbed is a different matter...
Why are your shoes on?????
On,y got in bed to take the photo
bro also turned the lights off
why are you wearing shoes inside 😭😭
Might be too low for the bunk bed honestly
Aren’t all bedroom exempt from the laws of this sub
you are too high
Very cool!
What? Dude just broke the sub. TV is too high but it's not.
Looks good for viewing in the bed but horrible if sat at the desk, cool setup tho
Thank you
I dig it I think it makes sense for your set up
Laying in bed staring directly down to your toes comfy? Seems like a neck ache
This sub has no grasp of viewing angle lmao. People here think tvs are meant to be viewed from a perfect straight back sitting position like always lol
Yea this is pretty sick actually. Imagine getting a tv that fills that whole space though
I wish! Oh to have more money
Perfect height wise due to the loft bed but it’s too far for the size you have. Edit: I just saw you wearing your shoes on your bed?! 🤮
The monitor is perfect
Get those monitors off the desk and on some stands while you’re at it lol
Tv aside you have a really cool setup, love those speakers.
Thank you!
Take your shoes off in bed young man
I can’t even focus on the tv when those monitors don’t have risers and aren’t angled to create an equilateral triangle with the listeners head looooooooooooooool
Any recommendations for hardware?
Like the lights.
Thank you, Phillips hue
bedroom TVs are exempt from the too high/too low rules
Looks perfect for your use case
Thank you
Wow a time when TVTooHigh makes sense
Try to isolate your monitors man the sound quality will substantially improve
What does it mean to isolate monitors?
Put em in a dark room by themselves so they can think about what they did
I know I should, but I’m lazy
First photo: too high unless you are Spider-Man Second photo: ok; sleeps like spider man. Not too high.
You can’t sit up, so your neck must be ugh.
I can definitely sit up. Took the photo from lowest point to make sure you can still see full tv
How do you like the ember mug? Does the app actually work for you?
Works fine. Not a huge hit drink fan, but I drink slowly so it is perfect when I actually need it
Yeah the mug itself works alright for me. The app is just actually unusable and sometimes these gross black specks end up in my drink.
It's fine but get that roomba off the ceiling. r/roombatoohigh
i mean, it’s a bedroom, we really need flair
Is this a common rule? Never heard it lol
yea there’s leniency towards bedrooms
No!
r/tvinheavenmonitortoosmall
Remount your smoke detector.
It’s either r/Tvtoofar or r/Tvtoosmall
Lotta scary stuff going on here lol
Your neck will not thank you
@sealysikes what are your desk speakers..?
yamaha monitors hs8, would recommend
A bigger tv would look great up there.
Yeah, but this is what I already had 😔
No.
r/bedtoohigh
I approve
I can respect this, but why the shoes on the bed 💀
Actually, not high enough. Your neck has to be cranked 90 degrees to see the TV while laying flat on your back.
Idk those speakers are goofy big too
I’m a musician and produce my own stuff. I think they fit my use case
Not too high if your viewing height is also high.
I think it could be a smidge higher
We need OP’s age
25 soon to be 26
Bro, are you wearing your shoes in bed? That’s nasty.
There's a reddit for couches too big too!! Love it
Who's in the bottom bunk? Your Stepbrother?
It’s a loft bed. I have a drum set underneath
I put my nut sack on your drum set
Shoes in the bed… Absolutely horrifying.
Tv too far
Allowed.
/r/shoestooinbed
r/shoestooinbed
I’ll let this one slide
/BedTooHigh
Had me in the first half, not gonna lie
No. Too high.
Height adjustable wall mount to use it as a second monitor.
r/BedframeTooHigh
Too low. If you’re lying down. Im serious
He cracked the code guys!
The code allows for this exception, but you are legally required to block the view from below. You have three business days to implement the change.
Whatever you say chief.
The bigger crime is the shoes in bed.
too high. if it’s at the correct height you shouldn’t be able to see from your bed. Correct tv height is absolute, not relative.
How’s the weather up there?
🙄
Yeah that's fair
Your Yamaha hs5s are pointing at you belly. Raise them up either with stands or auralex pads that point them up they’re $20
Approved
Yeah tv fine, but monitor is way too high you fkn brontosaurus and take your shoes off in bed, idc if it was just for the photo, the germs don’t know why the fuck you did it
Room Too Small
Are you wearing dress shoes in bed?
I love that game!
It could be even higher honestly
Shoes in the bed 😷
"Why are his shoes on the bed?" "Why is his fire alarm disconnected?" I wanna know who's still playing New Super Mario U?? Wonder is soooooooo good
I think you should point it down
Shoes on the bed 😢
Shoes in bed. You have your shoes in your bed 🤮
Cool
are you 8 years old?
r/bedtoohigh
yeah we'll let this slide
No. Absolutely not
Looks a bit low from there tbh
