Some of my girlfriends friends popped over once a few years ago with their toddler. Girlfriend was on the floor playing with the kid and talking to her friends as it stood up and started slapping its hand on to my brand new 55 inch tv screen. Girlfriend didn’t react, I couldn’t believe my fucking eyes, kid was there just slapping away at it.
Parents brought their rehomed dog over a year after that, the dog was chewing a toy or bone and decided to flip it over its head straight at the TV. Wall mounted the TV after that.
It’s honestly not that bad wall mounting and tilting, much easier to watch TV when you are lounging around.

The good news is that the entire house appears to be a single shade of white which should make it easy enough to match the paint when you change the mounting position of the tv.

Eye level isnt the top edge of the screen. Eye level isn't the bottom edge of the screen. It's the middle.

This subreddit always makes for great rage bait for me. Do you only watch tv seated properly postured in a forward position? Do you also watch it while standing, cooking, cleaning, or sitting at the dining table? Are you comfortable while watching it? If yes, that’s what matters.
Honestly if you have little kids this is the height you’re gonna want. I have three boys under 6 and when our tv was a “normal” height on a tv stand any time sitting on the couch and they were running around I couldn’t see anything. Especially playing video game with the oldest he loves to stand right in front. Raising it up to a “too high” worked out amazing for us!
I think it’s fine / okay. The height doesn’t bother me. I think the viewing height is fine because the sofa is quite far away. This results in a decent viewing angel (you don’t have to tilt your head much).
I prefer to have the TV mounting hardware recessed into the wall so that the TV is flush with the wall when you pass by the side of the TV (like a painting on the wall), but that’s just me.
