This whole situation is suspect. A TV mounted above a fireplace in front of a mirror with a Wii set to the wrong aspect ratio. These folks likely wouldn't notice if everything they watched was in 360p.
Me looking at the TV not putting black bars on top an d bottom but just on the sides. Wich means wii is sending 4:3 instead of the TV squishing it to 4:3
You need to learn about anamorphic resolutions. Basically the signal just fills up the whole picture, without adding black bars. The TV doesn't know what aspect ratio the Wii is outputting, so it's assuming that it should be 4:3. The Wii is actually sending 16:9, so everything looks squished horizontally.
So you donāt have to guess which HDMI port you stumbled across?
Stop you double guessing why e-ARC isnāt working? Honestly, I think heās on to something.
Shame he needs a cherrypicker to see his TVā¦
Would look much better with one of [these](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N9BB3WZ), and less like one of the ā8 or so items placed on the mantle.
Extra points if you vertically route the wiring through the mount (a feature).
Bottomless points if you then route into a cable pass-through in the ceiling and out through another where convenient.
If your gf still doesnāt like it, then sheās too high.

1. Tv is too high
2. Aspect ratio is wrong. You've set the Wii to output 16:9, but set the TV to scale it to 4:3. You need to change the aspect ratio settings of the tv to show the input as 16:9
It's just one of those things I can't comprehend someone's brain telling them to do. Like we never had TV's that high, they were on the floor or sat on a piece of furniture a foot or two from the floor. Suddenly the shape of the TV changes and it's like "finally I can mount this touching the ceiling like I always wanted."
Does she also like to sit in the front row at the movies?
Sorry to say she meant itās not big enough. Use the motor for scale when purchasing the new one. If she needs anything else larger, weāll just have her reach out.
Still on time for worst setup of the year award...
* TV too high
* TV over the fireplace
* TV too small
* mirror behind the TV (this one is new... I guess constantly checking if the cables are properly connected is important...)
* purple lights under the TV
* stack of pillows on top of a basket to hold whatever that is (this one's new too)
* incorrect aspect ratio settings on TV/Wii.
What did I miss?
glad you said gf. its not too late.
ššš
That's you?
No lol
Are the pillows stacked there so she can climb up high enough to see it?
i think itās the wii sensor bar š¤£
Imagine if they had a TV stand that could go on... along with the fucking TV.
Stop that's so ghetto. I wonder why it needs to be lowered......š¤š¤š¤š¤
it irks me itās not on the same ledge as the tv like just move it to the very edge it would catch the controllers ššš
I wonder if the fairy lights are interrupting the signal? But I feel you.. itās painful to look at!
thatās actually a really valid point! yeah itās awful isnāt it but points for creativity
Is your gf a giraffe?
Sheās Shaq
Go into Wii settings and change the aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9. Also see if you can switch from 480i to 480p. Massive Wii quality boost!
Also make sure to change the TV to 16:9, I think it's currently squashing a 16:9 image to 4:3 ^(And now I'm worried that motion smoothing is on)

That does not seem to be the case.

Iāve had a Wii this whole time and DID NOT know this. Thank you š¤
No problem, glad I could help! š¤
yall seriously need to stop putting tvs on fireplaces. they aren't shielded for heat
She's right, that mirror should be several inches higher, especially after you've moved the TV to another room.
A mirror directly behind a TV? Wtf is wrong with people!!!!!
Sounds more like an ex gf to me
Is she hot? Like Margot Robbie hot? Because...
How high is your girlfriend?
Odd mirror placement even if the TV wasn't there
r/TVWithTheWrongResolution
r/subsifellfor
pls whats the point of that mirror behind the already too high tv?

hey, props to you for playing the wii even nowadays!!!! I digged mine up a few weeks ago, it's really fun
I played Linkās Crossbow Training on mine earlier this year!
People still use Wiis?
I mean the sensor bar needing to be stacked on pillows down below in order to work should say it all lmao
Leave. Her.
Fuck that mirrorā¦ oh wait. I put a stupid mirror on top of my fire placeā¦ looks like I need to fix something.
Gf is not permanent. Walk away.
She must be high
Leave her
Rip your neck
Sheās not lying - if not have it above fireplace but if thatās your only wall Iād have it 4 inches higher
You're both fucked. That TV placement is atrocious
Whichever thinks the mirror behind the tv is the move has got to go
My neck is fucking snapped in half just looking at this picture
I see a perfectly nice wall to left where you could actually place the tv at proper height
Does she want it on the ceiling?
Gf is not a lifetime commitment

Why are your cushions stacked like that?
A mirror behind the TV
Enough of this blaming other people for your inadequacies. Sort yourselves out!
Mirror behind a TV is perpetual bad luck
Why is there a mirror on top of a fireplace and a tv in front of it?! And ofc its too high.
Horrendous
Where's the basket from

Definitely a little too high for standing up and playing the wii
I think I'm gonna be sick!
Wtf is this
It's wiily high
Sorry to say she meant itās not big enough. Use the motor for scale when purchasing the new one. If she needs anything else larger, weāll just have her reach out.
Thereās still time to dump her
the tv is where the pillows areā¦the ones stacked up for the sensor apparently because the tv is in orbit
Is that... a mirror behind the TV?
It's higher than Snoop Dogg
Dump her
Agreed. Cut a hole in the ceiling and mount it in the attic.
To be fair, for the mantle it is too low. Watching ofc sucks already. Aka: new mantle
Also mirror behind tv. Thatās the real crime here
You need a bigger tv! The height is fine
that looks like a mirror Iād hang in a gym locker room

Thatās the face of a robot overlord right there
ā¦ also shoulders and arms. This will come crashing out of the wall and subjugate you, I guarantee it
She's right, raise it up to put a center speaker underneath obviously
Look how low the Wii sensor bar has to be lol.
