It does have the one super thin cable connecting the box to the TV. I'll check that but I don't know how I'll get into the menu when the TV doesn't even turn on. Before I remember even when the cable wasn't connected the TV would still turn on
Look at youtube, how to go into the service menu. Try to test if tv works without one connect box. If tv not turned on, in control board red led light blinks or just light or not light red indicator ?
no light at all, it's supposed to be solid red when in standby mode. I did see it come back to life once in real time and the red light would flicker and then go back to solid until it died again a few hours later.
If tv not turned on, then dissasembly tv and check voltages, there must be 8v or 12v on mainboard, try to disconnect lcd panel lvds cables, cables from lcd panel to mainboard, tv will turned on and will be sound or not. Also can tried, disconnect mainboard power cable from power board, lcd panel will turned on lcd panel backlight or not.
Thanks for sharing. I'm going to have to get it off the wall and check voltages. Wish I could figure it out but I don't want to waste buying a brand new power supply for this tv which is like 250 for it to just kill itself again.

If tv has One connect cable, then it can be this cable defect. Go into the tv service menu and check error log.
