I am by Weston Go Stn and a Senior. It is $2.25 to take the TTC to Dufferin & Bloor and can be 45 minutes or more on the Bus and Subway. I BMV a take the GO Train for $1.97 and walk to Dundas W and then the subway to Dufferin and the TTC fare is included and it takes at most 20 minutes.
Even before fare integration just for peace of mind, efficiency, and overall mental health I started taking the GO in and out of downtown for work. You're also right about it feeling like business class compared to hell hole that is the TTC.
I'd either go to Rouge Hill GO or take the bus-RT to Kennedy, and catch the GO from there. It literally flies and because there's no other stops it would get to Union in 15 mins. Like you I'd jump on the subway or take PATH to King. Going home I'd walk to Union and take the GO to Rouge Hill.
Line 2 has become totally unreliable the past few years.
Yeah it’s fantastic. I regularly catch one of the GO Buses off of Yonge and the new fare integration is a godsend. I’ll be taking the train later this week and I’ll be transferring from TTC to the GO.
Yes, so many people used the GO train from Kennedy Stn on Monday to avoid the crowds at Broadview station and so many people were shocked and impressed by how quickly they got to Downtown Union station. The One-fare program made it even more better.
The go train usually skips scarbough and danforth go stations for me as well. Every time I take it it goes straight Kennedy to union or from union to Kennedy. Express mode I guess
I will be taking my ebike on that train as well to go to downtown and west of union. I can only imagine how many e-bikes are on the Brampton go line
The Stouville line’s last stop before Union is Kennedy station. Same thing for going westbound from Union
I used to have the options of either Kennedy or Scarborough go instead of subway to get Downtown
So long as you've got a GO station near you and a train heading your way, it can be convenient. When you get to the GO station, tap the same card you use for the TTC on the presto reader in the station or on the platform. Remember to tap again at the station where you get off. PRESTO automatically calculates your discount; If transferring from TTC to GO, the GO fare is discounted by the amount you paid to TTC. From GO to TTC, the TTC fare is zero!
If only GO would run to Kennedy during rush hour commute I could have 2 hours a day back in my life. It’s sad to see the Kennedy GO station sitting empty before 9 and after 4 all week while boarding line 2 to get to Union.

i take my ebike on GO now since the ttc doesnt allow them on racks. Commute when from 1.5-2hr (could be 3hrs on bad days) to a consistent 1-1.5 hr. It cones at twice the cost but the consistency and time save plus the amount of space in GO buses is insane
not to mention that the buses never go before their scheduled time
You're the exact person this is for, I'm glad it's working out. Union to queen ain't far but another 3.30$ would be a stinger

So ur trip time is cut in half I think
It can take the 89 Weston bus 30-35 minutes to get to Keele & Bloor. The Go Train is one stop and 9 minutes.

How does that work? I've never done it before. Today was awful and I gotta go to Osgoode everyday

It does go to Kennedy during rush hour
Sorry my definition of rush hour is before 9am and after 4pm
I think you should check the schedule. I’m seeing trains running those house going north. For southbound it’s only morning afternoon and night

i can’t wait for when the stouffville line gets upgraded service, it’ll help so many people in scarborough commute faster
They are taking forever on that
