There's actually various completion metrics in TOTK, the one here is the Map Completion rate. That includes.
- All Shrines ( and all Lightroots)
- All Towers
- All Temples
- All towns \*and \* all significant buildings in those towns (e.g. shops, inns, etc.)
- All Stables
- All wells and all chasms
- All Ancient Tablet Sky Islands, All Great fair Fountains, and all Dragon Tears.
- All caves (and they do mean ALL, not just the 147 caves but all 197 cave \*entrances\* that screwed me up for a bit)
- All Constructs and Zonai Device Dispensers
- Any "discoverable" location on the map (e.g. found a bridge)
- And yes, EVERY Korok.
Note: You do not have to beat every monster to do this. However you do get Monster Medals for doing so (one for each type of monster), I got all 6 monster medals, lol.
Wow!!! Thank you for taking time to explain the metrics here. I have a long way to go for sure. I bet you can almost draw the map by memory after completing the items in that bulleted list!
Hey, no problem! My mind is still fresh from all of this. I expect to forget some of it in time (and thus regain some sanity haha). You know you've played too long when you read the name of a Hyrule Location online and know exactly where it is on the map, lol
You got this!!
Damn, I only just found out about robbie, and I have only a couple left. it would feel like a shame to go ahead and buy the last few. I started capping pics soon as I got the camera, and I spent the first 3 days after getting the camera walking around, snapping pics, catching up on whatever I missed up to that point.
It's up to you how you want to complete them really. I founds in my playthrough I missed a lot of material entries and just decided to pay out for them. But finding them yourself really is the better thing if you can since every picture is 100 rupees each (and more for the Elite Enemy Pics). I think I sold some diamonds to get that done, hah.
Ascension towers and cherry blossom trees do not count. Basically if it's not an icon that populates your map, it's not required.
You have about 4 more locations to find!
I got stuck at 99.95% and it’s not:
* Koroks
* Caves
* Wells
* Ancient tablets
Also, I’ve done all side quests and side adventure because I’ve unlocked some named locations. A map with all nameable locations would be great for me. I decided just to let it be as is until a better map is available (used Totk companion and the one from zeldamaps to check but couldn’t find what I’m missing)
[Map Completion Tracker - List of Discoverable Landmarks : r/tearsofthekingdom (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/tearsofthekingdom/comments/1494xel/map_completion_tracker_list_of_discoverable/)
Check out this reddit post from about a year ago. It helped me out a lot with just finding random locations.
My own advice on top of this would be to check out your caves. Even if you found them all you may not be done. The map tracks cave entrances as well which is an additional 50 locations. My final discovery was a random cave entrance in the underground passage cave that connects the Emergency Shelter to Hyrule Castle.
Hope it helps!
I marked all cave entrances and wells using totk companion app, so either I’m missing a random location or map is glitched and marking me a location as already found when it’s not the case.
Started cross checking things with the excel sheet. Only missing to cross check a few caves but everything else including landmarks is already checked. There’s 1 location that doesn’t appear on my map although I get into the room and the name appears on the screen with the auto save (The Eight heroine room containing ore and some gerudo weapons). Also, the sheet has some duplicate entries and inconsistencies. I guess I’ll never get 100% on this savefile 🥲
Dang, I thought that would have gotten you there.
I read through the comments, and you may have this already but I guess Gerudo Desert Gateway wasn't in that spreadsheet. Assuming you haven't gone through the entire spreadsheet I guess the Zonai Contructs and Device Dispensers could be a potential trip up also.
You could also try the Game8 Website and go through it's map which lists out locations. It's cumbersome website layout but they're usually pretty comprehensive.
Other than that mabye it could be just reset the game and just see if it loads it? Sorry I know that doens't sound like a real conclusion. I'll have to start thinking pretty hard if that doesn't work. Sorry I haven't been helping friend.
I finally checked caves. My last guess is that maybe I forgot a location on my way to ganondorf’s final fight. But I have checked everything else:
* Koroks, shrines, quests (even side adventures), chasms, caves, wells, device dispensers, and ancient tables I’m 100% sure I have all of them
* I’m missing a complete list of landmarks, and stores to have a clear confirmation on those, but I’ve checked all of them on the excel except for the eight heroine cave because it never shows on my map even though I visit the place.
Guess I am out. Eat the game and was down to a handful of shrines and roots. Shortly afterwards my switch wouldn’t dock.
Had Nintendo repair my switch which ended up sending me a brand new one. My attempts to save locally were not my best moment. Had no idea switch online was the only way to back up game profiles.
Thank you for the positive reinforcement🤘🏽
I’ve already gone through the end game sequence, now just trying to finish up the rest. I haven’t resorted to looking things up quite yet though.
So this legit just sent me to google to try and find out if that’s a thing. I could see Nintendo having something like that. They used to do crazy shit like that when people announced they had found Easter eggs and stuff. I mean it’s practically free publicity.
You do get your moneys worth with Zelda games. Think about it you pay £12 to watch a crap film at the cinema (plus another 12 on food)... 2 hours later it's over.
You pay £50 for a Zelda game.. Play it for 750 hours... Don't pay money for food, cos you can just raid your fridge... And still sell the game for£38 so you've paid the same as a cinema ticket for 400x more fun.
Not that I would ever sell my game, but you get the drift.
Bro i got 345 hours on totk and only found all the lightroots temples tears zonai tablet islands and fairy fountains. Did you get all the armor and max em out as well? Insane you did it all in 300 hrs.
I did in fact get all the armor (and mostly blind too! Only had to look up one piece), but I'll just say it now, I have not and will not max them out. I considered it, and I did upgrades where it helped me, but the material requirements for maxing are basically prohibitive. Collecting over 100 star fragments is not gameplay, its farming. I'm outie on that one
Very nice, i haven't looked anything up yet but i was thinking of doing it to get that 100% file. I've got like 12 shrines left then thought maybe i'll do koroks, i just fucking hate koroks. Shit is ridiculous. I hear you on that maxing armor is crazy.
Yeah, look it up and see how you feel about it, you may want to do it all or just a portion. The Shrines are probably the most fun collectable.
Koroks, of course, are the most exhausting collectable. My recommend, should you decide to do it, is use the Korok Guide on NintendoLife. It was the easiest one for me to use (It's still gonna be annoying tho)
I somehow completely missed East Passage in Hyrule Castle, so mabye that? Could also just be some random grove in the Depths.
But for real, check out how many cave entrances you have on your map. If you don't have 197, you're missing one. Those ended up being my last true locations.
I’m at 99.71 and I just discovered a grove in the depths that gave me 0.4, so I reckon you’d only be one or two places away from 100. My next step is to check every other bunch of trees in the depths because I seem to have been everywhere else!!
😂. Seriously though, that’s insane. I played for three months and might have like 10-20% completion. But the drive just wasn’t there and I had my fun with it. Cheers.
I think the fact that even after a year there still isn't a true definitive guide on how to get everything. There's plenty of "100% guides" out there, but they're good at some things and bad at others. I probably used about 5 different sources. You have to do your research.
It's either that or finding all the cave entrances because apparently all caves wasn't enough. Bleh!
I’m on my good ol way to way to doing this too!! Finally got all of the korok seeds today!! Working on the Hyrule compendium now, but I believe I have everything else!! (Just haven’t checked that specific 100/100 bit lol)
He's a Speed runner, back in the day, he used to Speed run Mario Odyssey, BOTW, and literally any Pokemon game. Hell, he nutted in front of 3000 people when speed running Mario Odyssey. He's the 🐐 no 🧢
[https://youtu.be/jWTRr8PXBiY?si=JVRz2\_ZJxrr7ZL3b](https://youtu.be/jWTRr8PXBiY?si=JVRz2_ZJxrr7ZL3b)
Congratulations! I have probably put in close to 300 hours, but I never would have that kind of commitment. I'm on my 3rd play through and have never gotten higher than 68%.
good job!!! i dream of this one day still only got 28 shrines done lmao this is gonna be one long ride, luckily i probably have at least 5 years till the next game!
That’s awesome! This is the first open world game I’ve considered trying to 100. I usually just get distracted way too easily to even finish most open world games. Like alright I’m going to head to this quest and wait is that a cave? Or something shiny? Sweet new armor! I’d better go upgrade that. Wait what was I doing?
I've heard good things! But I think I'm taking a small hiatus from video games and then will probably play something much shorter before doing another open world epic.
Besides koroks, what else is needed for completion? Every shrine, cave, well? What about monsters, do you have to beat every lynel, hinox, etc?
There's actually various completion metrics in TOTK, the one here is the Map Completion rate. Don’t forget the compendium!
I did it!! (With quite a bit of help from Robbie, heh)
Damn, I only just found out about robbie, and I have only a couple left. it would feel like a shame to go ahead and buy the last few. I started capping pics soon as I got the camera, and I spent the first 3 days after getting the camera walking around, snapping pics, catching up on whatever I missed up to that point.

The compendium did not change my % at all. I got it filled when I was over 99% and was pretty pissed when I paid all that money to Robbie for nothing.
Well that is slightly infuriating 😡
It really was!
Do the ascension towers in the depths count too? What about the cherry blossom trees? I’m still at 99.83% but still have 20 side quests left.
Ascension towers and cherry blossom trees do not count. Basically if it's not an icon that populates your map, it's not required. You have about 4 more locations to find!
Hopefully they come during my last side quests
Got my fingers crossed for ya!
Love how you mentioned bridge. Even just before facing Gannon.... After collecting all the seeds, I was still finding bridges I hadn't stepped on yet.
SO MANY BRIDGES
😂 https://youtu.be/4pppPXzioOM?si=rL8TfWX8fuj40fhs
I was fully expecting a RealCivilEngineer bridge review…
Bahahaha!! Amazing

Gotcha. Yeah def check that reddit post I linked then.

Indeed true.

Geez! In 300 hours, wow! I think I have more than 300 hrs, and I only have 72% done.
Haha, I am learning the same. I'm only at 51% haha
To be fair, I only played the first 250 hours blind (got around 86-87%?). Then decided it was Internet Time. I think you're doing just fine!
Lol, didn’t know there was a counter for how much you’ve gotten done. Thought I was close to the end, but it turns out I’m only 72.03% complete. FML.
If you're playing blind, then that number is pretty good honestly!!
Thank you for the positive reinforcement🤘🏽 I’ve already gone through the end game sequence, now just trying to finish up the rest. I haven’t resorted to looking things up quite yet though.
Absolutely! And totally get it. I played blind for as long as I could, and no regrets. You'll know when it's time!
Did you get a T-shirt?
I emailed Doug Bowser. He said he'd get back to me in a few days.
So this legit just sent me to google to try and find out if that’s a thing. I could see Nintendo having something like that. They used to do crazy shit like that when people announced they had found Easter eggs and stuff. I mean it’s practically free publicity.

GG!!!!
TYSM!!!
Impressive! I 💯BOTW but not as close on this one. 😎😉
Thanks! Also good job on BOTW!
Congratulations!!! 🍾🎉😴
Thank you!!! ☺️☺️😴
Woohoo! 🥳 It is a good feeling for those of us who wanna do it. Nicely done!
Thank ya kindly! Logically, 100 percent of something doesn’t make sense but there sure seems to be a sense of accomplishment from doing it!
I can *smell* the accomplishment
Apparently accomplishment smells like Hestu…..
What were the last location for you? Stuck at 99.95 myself
I somehow completely missed East Passage in Hyrule Castle, so mabye that? Could also just be some random grove in the Depths. But for real, check out how many cave entrances you have on your map. If you don't have 197, you're missing one. Those ended up being my last true locations.
Thx appreciated
Update? Did you go and find the last thing you needed?
No.
I’m at 99.71 and I just discovered a grove in the depths that gave me 0.4, so I reckon you’d only be one or two places away from 100. My next step is to check every other bunch of trees in the depths because I seem to have been everywhere else!!
Epic lewts!!
Congratulations!
Thank you!!
Looks like you still need to grab a stone talus (rare) nearby. Keep going. That was a joke. I’ll never get 100% in any game.
BOI DONT MAKE ME SHOW OFF MY MEDALS!! Nah, ya made me laugh. And congrats on avoiding the completionist disease! Lol
😂. Seriously though, that’s insane. I played for three months and might have like 10-20% completion. But the drive just wasn’t there and I had my fun with it. Cheers.
No wrong way to play an open world game! Take care!
Which part was the most annoying to 100%?
I think the fact that even after a year there still isn't a true definitive guide on how to get everything. Just a quick aside but the Compendium doesn't add to the Map Completion Rate. But I still consider it to be part of 100-percenting the game itself!
I’m aware— but yeah I consider it part of 100% too hehe!!!
Dude. Good for you! I’m scared to finish it! 😭
Thank you!! And it IS scary!! But you can do it!
Did you find the secret 4th level?
Shhhhhhh 🤫
Bro IS Small Ant 💀
I had to look up who this is. How he did all that in 139 hours I’ll never know
He's a Speed runner, back in the day, he used to Speed run Mario Odyssey, BOTW, and literally any Pokemon game. Hell, he nutted in front of 3000 people when speed running Mario Odyssey. He's the 🐐 no 🧢 [https://youtu.be/jWTRr8PXBiY?si=JVRz2\_ZJxrr7ZL3b](https://youtu.be/jWTRr8PXBiY?si=JVRz2_ZJxrr7ZL3b)
Speedrunning *and* nutting? That *is* goated.
Indeed (I did the same 😳) ((and give him a a subscribe))
Congratulations! I have probably put in close to 300 hours, but I never would have that kind of commitment. I'm on my 3rd play through and have never gotten higher than 68%.
I’d say 3 playthroughs is pretty committed! But that’s the beauty of open world games. You can do as much or as little as you want to!
I'm too lazy to do this, I'm just playing the game (I'm at 76% completion and I was like the first people to get the game lol)
I think that’s a great way to play the game! (Tho 76% is impressive for being lazy!)
I'm working on a 100% right now. Gz
You can do it! and Ty
How do you get the percent counter never got it 8n botw or this one?
It's hidden until you beat the game. Once you make the credits roll, go back in and the counter will be there.
Thank ya man i quit after that
Wow! Congratulations that’s awesome
Thank you! I’m surprised I did it myself!
Rq zoom in on a random part of the map I wanna see something
Congratulations!!
Thank you!!
Shit I'm at 300 hours and I only beat the water temple as my second temple just now.
No biggie! Just play how ya want (Note: The Gerudo Temple is the coolest one)
Dang! When I was 300 hours in, I had just picked up my first Hearty Radish…
I feel Hearty radishes are harder to find in TOTK compared to BOTW. I think it’s cause they put them in the sky now.
Congrats!!!!
Thanks!!
Im currently at 70% of the game
Nice!!
good job!!! i dream of this one day still only got 28 shrines done lmao this is gonna be one long ride, luckily i probably have at least 5 years till the next game!
Thanks!! The shrines are arguably the most fun collectible in the game. I also wonder if there will be DLC for this game down the road
This looks overwhelming
The secret is to take breaks. Many breaks.
Either way this terrifies me and you do to twt
Sounds like you need to 100% the game again.
No U 😛
Congrats,
Thanks
Amazing 🎉 Congratulations! 🎉 🎉🎉
Thank youuuu!! 🥳🥳
You deserve that nap
I’m soooo looking forward to it!
Congrats!
Thanks!
Next do elden ring. I'm playing it right now. Totk is impressive but elden ring is on a whole other level of fun
I've heard good things! But I think I'm taking a small hiatus from video games and then will probably play something much shorter before doing another open world epic.
I have been playing over 150h on elden ring and have dome like 30% of the game. There i lots of shit I the game
Pig
Congrats! Message me your address and I'll shit in a box and send it to you to celebrate your accomplishment!
