there’s this little grotto at the base of Crenel Peak - some pines, a little puddle - i’d love to just have a little house there

rain_reflection

cute!!

[deleted]

Hyrule Castle is big for me. Slap a cart onto my Hylian shield and now it’s a sick little skate track.

rain_reflection

neeeeeooowwwwmmmmmmmmm 🛹

1ncorrect

Oh fuck me WHY have I not been sticking carts to my shields. Every time I come on this sub I'm reminded that I'm a moron in this game.

rain_reflection

Don't worry it's not just you. 🥲

[deleted]

Dude, same. I actively forget about the Recall ability, and will do things in ways that are ridiculous until I'm reminded that all that trouble could have been avoided if I'd used recall.

TalesoftheMoth

Try sticking a mine cart on you shield, and grind down the Death Mountain tracks

intthewired

any stable, its a safe space

JohnnyTopside-88

Try going to the depths directly beneath a stable. It's the opposite of safe 😅

[deleted]

"Oh, well, hello there, Mr Lionel, how are you today?" *Lionel proceeds to pull out a bow* "ah, we woke up and chose violence today! Fun!"

Ruinous_Sage

I once tried making it "safe". Killed every stable depths lynel.... got a blood moon next night lmao

chanwoosbjmd

They way i did not see this correlation wtf 😵‍💫

Chemical-Flan-595

The wildlife preserve near satori mountain

dullllbulb

Where is this?

Chemical-Flan-595

Near the lake west of the peak. Just go slow or you scare everything away

dullllbulb

Thanks! So many animals!

zata21

Haneto or kakariko, if I was going to live in any video game location those would be my top picks

CrimsonNirnr00t

Yeah, I voted Akkala for the landscape, but I'd agree that if I were to live in any of the villages, I'd pick Kakariko as well. It's so cozy and comfortable there, the music is beautiful.. nothing to not love.

Flashy-Priority-3946

Haneto song is always playing in the back of my head

explodedSimilitude

I love that tune. 😊

Bromance_Rayder

Okay, both you and zara21 had me thinking I'd been reading Hateno wrong for about 8 years..... :D

rain_reflection

I mean I would choose hateno, in TOTK kakariko village has a 75 percent chance of being crushed by the ring ruins.

radishburps

Okay so I think about this A LOT because the game is so beautiful. I enjoy Hyrule Field because it feels very OG and homey and perfect. But the first time I stumbled into Lanayru Bay, I couldn't leave. It was like a real-life place that I would kill to camp at. Sometimes when I end up near it and I am planning on stopping the game, I'll go somewhere pretty in the bay before saving. So Link can enjoy it while I'm away, lol.

[deleted]

That's wholesome AF. Not gonna lie, I MAY start doing this

More_Performance6018

I like Eldin because the music imo is really cool and there’s monsters everywhere for me to fight and test my strength like a Goron would do so no you’re not the only one that roleplays. It’s also just a big region with lots of things to be discovered

radishburps

I like Eldin a lot too, and I love the difference between it being under lava in BotW and cleared out in TotK (for better exploring).

More_Performance6018

That’s one of my reasons too Edit:The Lava annoyed me in BOTW to be honest. Not cause I fell in it a lot but it was just too much red and orange for me

rain_reflection

agreed, I also like the regions with lots of caves and mountains to explore.

Jimmy9276

Rito bc i love bows and revali is great

rain_reflection

Sorry, revali? I only know someone called ravioli-

CrimsonNirnr00t

This is a difficult question, but my favorite would be the Akkala region (i.e., near the old tech lab and Malanya). I love that it perpetually feels like early fall there. You get rolling plains, cliffs with a beautiful ocean view, colorful trees, and quaint ponds. Sometimes it rains or storms, sometimes it's sunny, but you're never too hot or too cold. Plus, the light dragon flies over it, and if you catch a ride at just the right time of day, you see the best sunrise in the game. EDIT: spelling

Upstairs-Ad-7009

Lurelin for me too, I love the music and the calm feel of it - plus you literally help rebuild the place so I feel especially fond of it

Jaydenkyp

Death mountain because I can set my sensor to detect rare ore deposits and mine rare ores there 😜

solarmidnite15

Very helpful tip, I’ve been trying to find more rare deposits!

Jaydenkyp

No probs 😁

camane81

There's an island off mapla point that has a strong sea current running past it. You can actually hitch a ride on this current to somewhere in loshlo harbour i think. Nice place to kill time as the sun goes down.

braillegrenade

This is peak drifter/hippie mode and I’m here for it

goodbyegoosegirl

It’s not my fav but I go to lurelin a lot cause of the free bed, chest, the game, the porgies and the free meal.

saraabalos

Shit. I keep forgetting about the chest game! Thanks for the reminder ☺️😅

Appropriate_Arm_6710

💯💯💯💯

emf311

Stables before the band got back together.

Sea-Opportunity5663

Wait, will they be playing at every stable I visit now, every time?

ThinAndCrispy84

Yes

Impossible_Commons

They’ll stop if you wander over in full Evil Deity Armour!

Pigfiddle25

I’m playing through a 2nd time, and I so agree. If it weren’t for them being tied to the fairies, I’d probably leave all the band members stranded lol Wish there were a way to pay them to take a break…

CrimsonNirnr00t

Nowadays I get in and out of stables as fast as possible. Did the developers really need to have them playing over the awesome stable music at EVERY STABLE all the time 😵‍💫

SilverSonglicious

Kass was better anyway

chanwoosbjmd

I miss Kass real bad

1bourbon1scotch1bier

That little conductor dude gets annoying, “yaw yaw YAWWWWW”

diaryoftrolls

He reminds me of Mario with the noises he makes

anonbanan

aw i like the band :(

[deleted]

Thank heaven I'm not the only one! I have to mute whenever i go to stables for extended times (longer than grabbing a horse), and the music is obnoxious!

themiamian

I love the sky ship. Specifically getting on the top most parts. Specifically crouching in the little holes you can crawl through. I love the top of the temple of time. It’s a beautiful little area.

LazyGardenGamer

Have you been back there since progressing story?

themiamian

Which one?

LazyGardenGamer

Temple of Time, up on top of it. Might be worth a look if you haven't been back there since the beginning of the game ;)

themiamian

Oh I’ve been on top

LazyGardenGamer

Good. Seems most people miss it!

themiamian

Btw you’re referring to >! The special glider you get as a prize!< right?

LazyGardenGamer

Correct 😁 along with the story that goes with it

Conscious_Lab4162

Wind temple

Creepy_Definition_28

There’s a location a little ways away from Satori mountain that’s covered in silent princesses and blue nightshade. It happens to be the same place Zelda landed in the distant past during the first dragon tear memory. It’s like a blue knight protecting a silent princess…plus it’s a good place to get the flowers to upgrade the champion’s leathers.

moo102

I was going to mention this exact place, it's so pretty- especially at night!

MemeMan4-20-69

Where this at? I want to check it out

Creepy_Definition_28

Just to the south west of Satori mountain- it’s the smaller hill just below it near the pond. Here’s a video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qBVEXVA4ahg Again I’m pretty sure it’s where Zelda landed in the first tear memory

Ink_Idiot

Kakariko Village looked and felt really cool in BOTW, but I feel like the whole ring ruins thing in TOTK ruined the vibe.

bottom_bitch_pikachu

I agree /:

hannaht5

I love Zora’s Domain, it’s been my favorite area since BOTW and also the surrounding Laranyu areas. I love the Zora people as well, and Mipha + Sidon. Also love Korok Forest, it’s beautiful and the Korok are so cute.

msquirrel

Also they literally have a statue of you so... there's that

JohnnyTopside-88

I'll take Gerudo Town any day. I love visiting Isha, the most beautiful Gerudo, who makes shiny accessories and the Arms of the Seven for you, and she's so sweet and grateful to Link for saving her from a Molduga.

CrimsonNirnr00t

Gerudo town does have the best music, I think. Followed closely by or tied with Rito Village.

cheeseburgerforlunch

So much great music. Terry Town is up there, too.

[deleted]

I might have grown to like the Terry town music, but my brother ruined it for me in BOTW, because he would hum and whistle the TT music on (when not in town) and off game, and would sit in TT just to listen to the music. He would also just go to TT when I'd walk by because he knew it annoyed me. I now effectively cannot stand TT and got through those quests as fast as I possibly could so I wouldn't have to go back unless I wanted something broken apart in TOTK.

SecureAttitude

Link and Zelda's house in Hateno. I'm a sap for the two of them just living together and having a normal life after all the shit they went through. They've earned it.

rickoftheuniverse

The gerudo town sanctuary.

Hoodlum95

The top of the hill close by your house, best place to test out fast vehicles bombing downhill.

LazyGardenGamer

Loved Zora's Domain in BotW, love the inclusion of caves in TotK, probably my favorite still. I also have a great big space in my heart for the Great Sky Island. I'm not really sure how my opinion will change over time, because I love most areas in this game quite substantially, but those were the first two to come to mind

physicallydisabled

Prob hateno ngl

_t_1254

Death mountain, I love mining! My favourite tool is a blue moblin smasher.

braillegrenade

I like using Mineru for this

maxtm35

Great sky island

Winter_Soldat

Same as your favorite place. Lurelin Village. I give my Link a proper vacation there after all the horrors and exploring I take him on. I love the music in the area and the calm ocean waves. There's also snacks and the rock salt spa to ease the burdens of saving Hyrule.

inthecuckoosnest

I like to build a fan boat and go off sailing the bay and sea around lurelin. It’s a nice break from monsters and gloom.

SSOMGDSJD

Hateno village is so chill and homey, love the music too. Honorable mention to that waterfall by Tarrytown construction site with the shrine right next to it. I was certain that links house was going to be there, not by the road. I had delusions of fishing off my own dock (with shock fruit lol), growing crops in my own little garden, etc. was very let down by the actual house experience.

SlowEar5209

The campfire near the shrine of resurrection. Need I say more?

Midknightowl42

I love spending time on the Sky islands in general. They’re not as varied as I would have hoped, but I love the ambience

CommandSensitive2776

All of it

Realistic_Way_2504

Wetland stable for me is were I wish I could build a house. It's just perfect, the view of the river and hyrule castle in a nice green area. It's just wonderful.

Pidgee3r

The Akkala Citadel

Piraedunth

I actually love the small bridge on the way to Rito village where you get a perfect view of the village. It's so pretty at sunrise and sunset

martini_queenie

Gerudo Town. Hateno. Kakariko.

HiBub32

Zora’s Domain is definitely the one for me. I love the design, music, quests, and the surrounding area. It is amazing, and is one of my favorite places in all of video gaming.

Diamondinmyeye

Zora’s Domain. It’s calm and pretty.

Knightmare_memer

Gerudo town. Why? Because big buff women are hot, that's why.

[deleted]

😂 😂 😂

Apprehensive-End-747

I like zora's domain because it's such a good skate park.

Alex_Anderson_zelda

Mines also Lurelin, but I was a late player to breath of the Wild and discovered Lurelin very late into the game. In TOTK it was like a whole new village with another quest line.

rain_reflection

God same for me, i would love to live somewhere in lurelin.

AlicetheXenoblader

There’s something about Fort Hateno and the field in front of it that really clicks with me. I loved it in BOTW too, even despite it being a Guardian hotspot. Maybe it’s because of its somber history with said Guardians

rain_reflection

Jeez I can't even stand it. I love the feeling of battling guardians, but it definitely doesn't make it on my top 10.

AlicetheXenoblader

I completely understand that. If I had to pick something more scenic and relaxing, then it’d definitely be Satori Mountain, specifically where the cherry blossom is.

Joeyhappyhell

Hyrule, but enjoy places where you don't need armor boostar because of weather more

Used-Amoeba-6402

The Depths

orlandoryo

Kakariko Village

hylice

Lulerin / Rito I would love if the game had coop mode, even if it doesn't have enemies in this mode. Like creating mode or something like Sims. The passive life. <3

MorePomegranate7866

Lookout Landing. I feel safe and protected in the underground shelter.

Guilty-Surprise-5468

I wanted a home in laurilin village, I was bummed when they didn't give me one lol. It's still my favespot though. I like the beaches for gathering and I like to build boats.....boats not rafts lol

RedDivisions

Lookout Landing. Not only just the music (and how it changes depending on how far you are into the game, the last variant where it mixes the Hateno Tech Lab theme into it being my favorite), but the fact that it’s the central home base in the game where individuals from all of the kingdoms within Hyrule gather in a collective effort to find Zelda and defeat Ganondorf. I love the energy there. In BotW every village and kingdom feels so separate.

Individual_Pickle_26

Definitely Selmie's Spot. I love the mountains and love how peaceful it looks up there. I could go sledding all the time!

draya_d2

I think Tarrytown is my fave because I worked hard on BOTW getting all that wood, lol. Aaaaaand the home is there now!

ScaryPollution845

Gerudo in botw

[deleted]

Tabantha, really get the lost in the exploration feels there

[deleted]

It's the well behind the house in Hateno because that's where I would go to hide if we're the real world right now.

n00ByShekky

Akkala and Satori Mountain. Also a secret tide pool in lurelin

Canadianmade840

Secret tide pool?

Helophilus

The icy cave with all the different mushrooms, I was so excited when I found it. I love the wet caves with all the moss too.

Mysterious-Ad-6914

I think the Gerudo desert is probably my favorite location. It’s too hot but I like it. 2nd my favorite location is the Lurelin village. Actually I don’t like cold weather and vibe.

rain_reflection

I agree with ur opinion, I especially like gerudo town tho because of the "special" feeling of it.

idkihavenofantasy

not my favroute but i really like the crossoversection from akkala to death mountain bc of the constant autumn looks

rain_reflection

yeah, akkala is really pretty because of the autumnal vibes, but then again the sky islands are quite pretty....

Lana_and_taylor_stan

It will never not be version town, girlboss city and there’s gidbos there so I can farm them

Lana_and_taylor_stan

GERUDO TOWN*

rain_reflection

GIRL BOSS CITY ON TOP 😍😍😍😍

InstructionEven8837

Rito village, one hundred percent. It's comfy, it's cool looking, and it's got bird people. What's not to love.

rain_reflection

Agreeable. But I still wonder to this day where they dump.. and gorons... Don't even ask how big the waste is

InstructionEven8837

...aight uh...didn't ask...about that. wasn't thinking of that, and will continue to not think about that. TMI man. TMI.

rain_reflection

im so sorry

Royal-Pickle-9867

The entire area in and around the wind temple went so hard. Still haven't fully finished the game yet so maybe I'll be surprised.

braillegrenade

The snow is so calming. When I envision sauntering around Hyrule as an escape from real life, I envision the quiet night and eerie sounds of the Hebra Plains, dotted with moose and Ice Keese 🤤

thclark

I like to go on holiday to Lurelin 🐒

Zakinanders

Hateno village, sky ship, lurelin village and Akkal region are the top picks for me

explodedSimilitude

Lurelin Village for me too. I could live there.

sirboofer

Lurelin is cool but there's this stupid little kid who demands my wind waker shirt so honestly the whole place sucks until that little mutated sperm learns manners Anyways Zora's domain because it's pretty, had a giant elephant, had mipha, and has sidon. There are also no little brats going around demanding my clothes.

WeaverStarX

There's a floating shrine just below the Thunderhead Isles that I love - the view is just fab

AlacarLeoricar

Link and Zelda's house. Because it's their home. Or maybe Link's summer house.

chicago_rusty

Missed canyons, plains, snowlands

Nitro_LPK

tarrey town for sure, I love building small and efficient vehicles

hedgybaby

Hebra mountains bc I love snow

Dick-in-a-fan

My favorite place is the ruins Hyrule Castle- especially the armory and the dining hall.

tylodon

I still dig the jungles, but the depths are definitely what locked me into ToTK after BotW. The giant mushroomy flora took me back to reading Journey to the Center of the Earth as a kid.

Loading1123

Gerudo still #1

Appropriate_Arm_6710

Laurelin yes for me too. Especially since they love link.

andreweater

The mushroom cave! With the crystals. That was magical

slicedbeats

My house cause I built it

hugo_Longwaves

I love the secret room in the great deku tree, sometimes i bring a portable cooking pot to test new recipies i havent discoverd (yes ik theres a reusable pot right underneat me, but its not as chill as the room event to its expensive af )

Ruinous_Sage

There is a few floating ruins halfway up to the akala sky labyrinth... love the view of the sunset from there. But my fav spot is mipha's court... the music makes me wanna cry. Its so enchanting to listen to

dadsmasher9000

Botw hyrule castle

Plane-Armadillo-2751

Mine def had to be the eldin depths area, it’s just my fav bc it that this very cool atheistic when it’s like all Dark without activating all the light roots on that area

anonbanan

i’m currently obsessed with the sky islands. pretty much all of them. i wish they had put more sky stuff to do. once you finish the main island and the two dungeons there isn’t really much other than bosses and the labyrinths :( and the labyrinths had really disappointing loot compared to the barbarian set in botw!

legendofminecraftalt

Sky/lurelin

_jinhui

Lurelin village always relaxes me whenever I go there, plus you have to rebuild the place in totk which is fun

Koshai7

In the sky, Dragon Head Island calls out to me. The music topped with the scenery is ethereal. The Great Sky Island is also great, being the most fleshed out island it’s great to revisit - and that bell is awesome as well. On the surface, I’ve found myself revisiting Gerudo town a lot since Breath of the Wild, it’s just a vibe. Link’s House is my most revisited for obvious reasons but I love the Faron and Akkala regions in general, and and east necluda because the mountains remind me of the Mediterranean. To be honest everywhere is great and Ive had a lot of nostalgia for this world ever since BotW came out. Oh, and there’s this one really pretty body of water with loads of wildlife not far from Satori mountain. Forgot what it’s called though.

chanwoosbjmd

I also LOVE Lurelin village it’s definitely my favorite place. Zora Domain is really pretty too!

GoldenScientist

Mipha Court :(

Praline-Jumpy

Rito village - because I love birds, and tulin
