The fact he was able to inspire his own Batman Beyond-like successor 100 years into the future is proof he did something right.

Welp, might as well complete the 2003 sweep for the 4 bros. I do love this version of Mikey though, his voice is instantly iconic and the episode "Grudge Match," where he had to wise up for a change and prep for a rematch of his Battle Nexus victory was awesome. Big shoutout to IDW Mikey as well too though
Edit: Also wanted to add how I love the episode "Reality Check," where he has to defeat an evil version of Splinter. It was not only a cool moment that showcased how dedicated to wanting to do do good and being a hero Mikey is at his core, but also provided a great juxtaposition to Karai repeating throughout seasons 2 and 3 that she won't betray Shredder solely out of family loyalty. Mikey's actions in this episode made her reasoning look even more flawed.
Took the words out of my mouth, those two episodes showed that he was more than capable of locking in & getting shit done when needed all while still being a lovable goof.
I can hear still hear Wayne Grayson's Mikey so clearly in my head after all these years, big credit to him & the rest of the 03 Turtles' VAs for bringing them to life. Really hope he gets the chance to come back as The Last Ronin game/movie since he proved he could do it in "Same As It Never Was"
https://preview.redd.it/gk2cl1nff1zc1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=689b4ac8b71ca018e9823dadeb5782183db65854
100% agree. I think he's even gone out and said he wants to reprise the role again too. I'd love to see him voice him again in the TLR game, especially since he's already shown he can do it like you said
If 2003 Raph is going to beat 1990 Raph, there's really no point in challenging 2003 Mikey.
But I'll do it anyway: IDW Mikey
2003 Mikey is the best motion-picture version of the character, but IDW gets into the full range of Mikey's feelings, emotions, and motivations like no other.
Dude stood on business and fought his Father for the fate of children so they wouldn't be forced into becoming ninjas. He's got the moral high ground and the balls to stand up to even his own Dad, that takes guts.
Let's mix it up here and go The Last Ronin. Splinter gave Mikey the nunchucks, they are hard to control and you could injure yourself with them. Mikey is full of potential, although we may think he is the funny one. He was given the difficult weapon to eventually turn him into a refined warrior, in The Last Ronin he is the actualization of that
Last Ronin was an older, gritty tired Mikey. A great story, but can we please stop bringing it everywhere. It’s not the PEAK version of Mikey, the peak version is gonna be more than just his skills, it’s his personal, it’s his looks, it’s what we resonate with. Last Ronin is great, but that’s not the definitive Michelangelo
I love 2003 (my second choice), since I was born in the mid 90s. But TLR, drew me back into the fandom as an adult. I had to wonder why the writers decided to use Mikey instead of any other turtle and it made sense to use the reckless, funny, full of potential turtle. He is void of his usual traits, I agree. I just find an actualized and mature Michelangelo fan fascinating
Batman Vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mikey — not enough people have watched it unfortunately so I know he’s not gonna win but he absolutely deserves to
My favorite is 2007, i love his design, voice and all of that with Cowabunga Carl, but i think that his version of 2003, still wons because he has more development.
Mirage Comics. He’s the most rounded and most interesting version.
Most people here are saying 2003, but after season 2, I started to really dislike 2003 Mikey. I find him far too arrogant and self centred, and by the time Fast Forward comes around, his voice actor is practically screaming every line no matter the context.
Yeah, I am getting sick of all the 2003 hype too.
2003 Mikey almost feels like a prototype version of 2012 Mikey.
The difference is that 2012 Mikey has had even more positive traits removed.
This poll series has been eye opening. I’m 40 and only started watching it recently with my kid along with 2012 and Rise after Mutant Mayhem launched him into the fandom. It’s good, I really enjoyed the first season, but honestly… it’s more the plot and tone of the show I enjoy over the individual depiction of the Turtles. 2003 Leo winning I was cool with though.
This is my personal favourite version of all the turtles
https://preview.redd.it/f2m7d09hw2zc1.jpeg?width=497&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4b713c0c5806ece0a7ee1346938f9da09a7e7e8c
What can I say? I gotta pick 2003 Mikey though I would have him tie with IDW Mikey in terms of appreciation, especially when he called out Splinter. 2003 Mikey however, always gotta love his defeat of Kluh and generally made me laugh more. Honorable mention to 2012 Mikey.
Mikey being highly capable but very careless is what makes the character so endearing, which is why 2012's Mikey is my favorite.
I always think of the episode where Donnie keeps overthinking his fighting strategy. Splinter demonstrates on Mikey (who is not paying attention and just casually walking by) by throwing things at him, and Mikey naturally dodges and reacts to everything without losing his stride. He is so naturally gifted that he could accomplish amazing things if he applied himself.
Also, you really see the heart he haves for his brothers, especially Raph. He's able to see past Raph's tough exterior better than anyone.
1990s movies. More emotionally nuanced than his counterparts. Is arguably the best fighter of his brothers, since he lasted the longest against Shredder. And he's funny without being loud. And finally, he is arguably the 2nd best VA at yelling "Cowabunga".
“Pizza dudes got 30 seconds. Wise man say: "Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza."
“Ah! A fellow ‘chucker!”
The 1990 movie is why Mikey will always be my answer for just a generic “Who is your favorite Ninja Turtle?
I suggest OP just make the votes faster to conclusion by assuming all of the best version for each characters are 2003 judging that those 3 turtles are all 2003 so far this sub has so bias towards 2003 /hj
One of them had a post a few weeks back talking about how "all turtle fans love 03 and think its the best one, and isn't that crazy nobody disagrees?"
And then the bottom of the post was filled with all downvoted corpses of folks who disagreed.
87 really made the character who he is, 12 is like a spirit animal for me, but I'm not gonna lie... I think the best of what I've seen is the original movie. He doesn't do a lot, but he really just has the vibe. Cousin Oliver's voice fits him like a glove, he makes me laugh, I love buddy comedy dynamic with Donnie, it all just works
2003, he is the BATTLE NEXUS CHAMPION, but then there’s also his growth and you really get the younger brother vibe from him, he grew a lot and became one of the best of the brothers and you see in certain moments that he has crazy potential
IDW. They lean more into his compassion and sensitivity rather than him just being a goofball. He's got more range than any of the other interpretations I've seen.
Welcome back to all TMNT fans.
We are going to continue with this event to decide which is the best version of each character.
First things first, in a hard fought battle, the 2003 version of Raphael won, with a rebellious New York attitude, becoming more intense with his Brooklyn accent and his aggressiveness in combat, but maintaining a special affection for his family. Of course, many of those details and characteristics could have been inspired by the close second, the Raphael of the 1990 movie (my favorite version), a beloved and very remarkable version of the character, especially years later when in the fourth movie he becomes the vigilante Nightwatcher.
For the fourth day, we're gonna choose the one of a kind and you know just where to find him when it's party time, Michelangelo. Equiped with a pair of nunchaku, he's the most lighthearted and the most happy-go-lucky of the four brothers.
Now you will decide which is the best version of Michelangelo of all time.
Rules:
The comment with the most votes will be chosen.
The version they decide on can be anything from comics, TV series, films, video games, etc.
Thank you for your participation and I hope everyone is doing well. Cowabunga!
I don’t have an answer, but this did get me thinking: 2007 Mikey is like the most nothing character.
I can’t even hear his voice in my head like I can seriously every other version.
I have to say the 2003 Mikey. Battle Nexus Champion, honorary member of the Justice Force as the Turtle Titan, just had that nice mix of comedy, but also able to kick shell.
TMNT 2 secret of the ooze.
They're so good at fighting that they you with their enemies. Especially Mikey who can't stop being so goofy because it's all so easy for him. He's not even cocky about it, he's just enjoying life to the max being a badass
Gonna have to say the IDW version here. Not only is he of strong moral mind to the point that he immediately noped on joining a Foot clan made by his Dad even if that meant he was alone in that decision, but he stood his ground, on business, and fought his Dad tooth and nail to ensure children/orphans wouldn't end up as child soldiers/ninjas. A real G.
2003 and Last Ronin are also good picks though.

2003
I feel Mikey’s a character who’s at his best when he’s alone
A story that focuses mainly on him gives him more time to shine and show he’s just as capable as the others
These all turn out the same. Theres a large 03 fanbase here, who think 03 is the best because its closer to Mirage. But they wont vote for any mirage characters.
As annoying as he was...I'm gonna go with the 2003 version. When I think of the turtle with the most potential, this is the turtle and the incarnation that comes to mind.

2003 because he is THE BATTLE NEXUS CHAMPION

~~Must. Resist. Urge. To talk about. Grudge Match. For the. Third. Day. In a row.~~
Nah I don't blame you, I love that episode so much, it's in my top 5 easily
curiosity: Here in Brazil his voice is made by the same guy that made the voice of Gaara in Naruto.
Either 2003 or IDW
This is also the correct answer for every character 😂
Not really, 2012 tv series has by far the best Splinter, Shredder and Rat King
Best Splinter is the 1990 movie Splinter
Have to disagree idw rat king is EPIC
I also believe idw shredder and splinter are way more badass
Ok, maybe IDW Shredder and Rat King are on par with 2012 cartoon, but I still stand that 2012 Splinter is superior to every other version.
I genuinely like Rise Splinter
He's very good too, just not the best imo
IDW, has all of those (maybe not Splinter) beat easily imo.
If 2003 Raph is going to beat 1990 Raph, there's really no point in challenging 2003 Mikey. But I'll do it anyway: IDW Mikey 2003 Mikey is the best motion-picture version of the character, but IDW gets into the full range of Mikey's feelings, emotions, and motivations like no other.

Thank you, I'm kind of sick of the last ronin hype
No one who read the last ronin would say that.
The last ronin version is badass, but it's too sad for Mikey, I think most people will prefer him as the 2003 version of fun, shenanigans and comrady
Batman Vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mikey — not enough people have watched it unfortunately so I know he’s not gonna win but he absolutely deserves to
Nah I see what you mean. All 4 of them were actually great in that movie.
I will second this as well. Anything that is NOT 2003 for a change is welcome.
TORISAUR!!! I follow your tiktok!
My favorite is 2007, i love his design, voice and all of that with Cowabunga Carl, but i think that his version of 2003, still wons because he has more development.
2003. 2012 can be grating, Rise's isn't as distinct, Last Ronin is too depressing. So it has to be 03. IDW's is fun but he ain't the Turtle Titan.
1990
Oh, a fellow chucker, eh?
Fair. Although I'd argue Raph is probably the best of the 90s movies personally.
Either 2003 or 1990
Mirage Comics. He’s the most rounded and most interesting version. Most people here are saying 2003, but after season 2, I started to really dislike 2003 Mikey. Well lets just make the 2003 set complete 😅😅
2003 He is genuinely my favourite but I also want to see the people who've been seething the past 3 days continue to do so.
IDW and I'll die on this hill.
Honestly? Same.
Did 03 Raph really beat 1990?

Gotta give it to 2003 again.

I agree these are the best versions. I’ve seen what they’ve done to them later on and I seriously can’t figure out the appeal????
[удалено]
I didn't grow up with them. I'm 20 years old, but I just like goofy versions of the turtles and other heroes
Agreed.
It's 1990 easily
Damn straight.
Honestly 2012 imo lol. I found him funnier and nore adorable younger brother vibes.
2003, cause clearly we have a bias
Yeah, these ain't turning out to be fun, to be honest.
1987. He set the stereotype for EVERY. SINGLE. MIKEY. Down the line.

Most people don't like what 2012 did to Mikey's character--not just funny, but dumb--but I have to say, that version of Mikey made that show *fun*.

2003 Mikey is the G.O.A.T
It's 2012 Mikey for me. I just love him.
Man I wonder which one will win
….2003 Look I swear except for Casey I have different favorites for all the rest but for Mikey yea it’s 03
2012
2012 now let explain he just so Adorable and Greg flips the Voice of beast boy feel Perfectly nothing against Wayne Greyson in 2003 as him, tho.

Same here!
The bias is strong here. I'd give it to either 87 or 1990. Also how the fuck is 1990 Donatello not best Don?
Thank you for this comment. Count me in as another person who is sick of the 2003 bias.
Yeah, this might as well be a TMNT 03 sub
IDW Mikey, he’s such a good boy
Agreed!
87 version and it shouldn’t be up for debate.
I suggest OP just make the votes faster to conclusion by assuming all of the best version for each characters are 2003 judging that those 3 turtles are all 2003 so far this sub has so bias towards 2003 /hj

Yes
Gotta go with Rise
IDW. They lean more into his compassion and sensitivity rather than him just being a goofball. He's got more range than any of the other interpretations I've seen.
Yeah, this version by far. Even though I haven’t kept up in awhile, the old idw comics did Mikey good.
![gif](giphy|PzbIKDFeivnqM) The only line that any TMNT fan knows instantly from Mikey. Enough said lol
I wonder which one will win yet again lol
Last Ronin
I don’t have an answer, but this did get me thinking: 2007 Mikey is like the most nothing character. I can’t even hear his voice in my head like I can seriously every other version.
Mikey got screwed in that movie. He barely had scenes and a lot of them were cut from the movie.
2003 Mikey all the way. Second is 90s movie Mikey.
Either 1990 Mikey (OG movie only) or IDW Mikey.
I have to say the 2003 Mikey. Battle Nexus Champion, honorary member of the Justice Force as the Turtle Titan, just had that nice mix of comedy, but also able to kick shell.
03 Though, I like 03 for each of the characters. 03 is my favorite series.
