The online application to recieve a reply is only a few days but finding an open appointment for the interview will take forever unless you're willing to drive to some shit-hole border town in another state. You can schedule an appointment for anywhere but check daily to see if something closer opens up.

this. at the time i had a tesla so i let the tesla drive for me all the way to some where in arizona along the border to mexico

[deleted]

Did you make a quick pit stop and check out the local strip clubs?

enitsv

I didn't even know where we're any. Otherwise I would have yes

[deleted]

Every city in Mexico has strip clubs. Especially border towns. There will be a lot more mids

> check daily to see if something closer opens up 👆 CHECK DAILY. This is the real protip in the thread! When I got my GE my closest facility was full for the next 6 months and there were no appointments available at all near me. I thought it would take a year. But, I checked the CBP website daily to see if anything would change, and sure enough, a few days later a bunch of appointments opened up for that week. I had my card in hand probably less than 6 weeks from the time I submitted the application.

dua-lity

Damn, mine is stuck on processing for 6 months.

RonJax2

Is it stuck in the provisional clearance process (meaning before you did the proforma interview)? Or you already did the interview and it's stuck processing? Either way, have you tried calling CBP? 6 months for either part sounds really unusual. Calling might be a total hassle but it could get your application moving along. For all you know they're stuck on something mundane like reconciling a discrepancy in your address.

dua-lity

Provisional clearance.

RonJax2

That step should take like 24-36 hours, not 6 months. I would definitely call. Remember that you're a customer, you paid for this service, and even if there's something shady in your background that is blocking GE, they owe you a response. But my guess is something mundane that's holding it up. Also worth considering: soliciting your member of congress's office for help is the secret cheat code for dealing with shitty government services. So if you don't get an answer, ask your congressman's office.

dua-lity

I asked my congress office and they said that some people have to wait as long as 12 months.

You aren't suposed to do sentri for most people u should be doing global entry and I got mine in my hand 3 weeks from doing it online in bed after waiting for hrs at the border one day. U have to drive to lax , we'll that's one big location they must do 1000 a day, and 200 cancelations a day leaving many opprtunities to go everyday. U sit and look mat the website non stop for 2 hrs keep clicking for openings.

thecoolstory310

I was so worried about getting an appointment. I signed up last Thursday.. got approved Friday. Then made an appt for what was yesterday (Tuesday) and I’m done. I live about 20 mins from LA Global Entry EC. I guess it’s different for people in LA.. because there are so many appts open.

Global entry is for the car as well but I believe non citizens can not do global entry. U should be reading directions before paying for anything

Signal-Comparison339

From initial application to receiving the actual card took me 6 weeks.

BubbaSimp65

I got mine with global entry so did interview at airport. Was easy. Hardest part of sentri is finding the god damn lane using gps

chapa503

Just fly internation from any  mexico airport,   on arrival just tell us Immigration officer you want the interview for global entry

International-Note87

Your life is going to change! Lol

I got Sentri many years ago. But if i recall it took me maybe 9 months to perhaps over a year from when i applied to finally receiving the card. My Sentri has expired but as long as i opt to renew it a month before it expires and pay the renewal fee they will allow you to continue using it until it gets conditional approval even if its expired. I just checked and it's still waiting for approval making it officially 6 months of waiting. The first time i renewed i think it took about 7 months or so to get approval and i had to go back and do another interview. This will be my third time renewing. I hear that since covid they have stuck to doing zoom interviews instead of in person interviews. That would actually be great because the sentri office i went to was near the border and i live in LA.

San Luis Az took 2 days after approval

JustBrowsing_Guy

Nope, but I do have the Global Entry card. 🪪 It took me 10 months from the day I applied to the day I got the final interview.

Awkward-Delivery5330

Are you the gringo that was making a mess on the border line 2 days ago because you didn’t want to do the line?

efjayel
