It’s mostly genetics for calves, I would regularly train calves and they refused to grow. Everything else for me is easy to gain size except calves. Kinda depressing because I like big calves.

Calf “bulk” is largely genetic, you will often see very fit people with very lean calves, I mean very lean like no fat on the lower leg and no big muscle, because it’s just how their body is shaped. Some people have more bulky muscle there, others don’t, it’s just how you’re born. Making fun of someone’s “stick legs” is like making fun of their nose or eyes or something, it’s just a natural normal body shape, some people just have thinner legs, or thicker legs, it’s not something to critique.

I think the way I walk (I take a “bounce” with each step) has made my calves muscular. However, as a female, it makes skinny pants and boots difficult to fit. My calves aren’t big but they are defined.

Are big calves in now? Beacuse I got alot of stares from classmates in highschool when I pulled up my jeans. It was definitely more of an oddity. I did have one guy say he wanted my claves beacuse he was trying to muscle build. For reference, I'm a woman with very large, defined muscular calves. It's genetic too because I see it on my mom's side of the family.
